also, fun fact, barry kinda looks like one of my brothers so every time i see barry i just imagine my brother cooking and being loud and having a fun time and it completely contrasts his real personality so barry stop looking like my brother so i can stop imagining this lie that i've created in my head
theres nothing more i want than a storyline where ben and james are starcrossed lovers who cant reveal their true feelings because they're constantly trying to out-chef each other.
but then one day, james makes ben a quiche and things are never quite the same again after that.

You dont understand, there already is an over arching plot, its just subtle. Have you realized yet that Barry is on a quest to avenge his murdered father? Or that Ben in a reformed drug dealer on the run from Scotland yard? you have to read in between the lines but its there.

Another really great sweet sweet potato noodle recipe that I've made before is spiralized sweet potatoes with egg and cinnamon. It's essentially just a baked sweet potato with some eggs, which are scrambled with milk and a little sugar. You can also put in ginger, honey, brown sugar, chevre, berries. All sorts of things. It's really tasty
You mentioned elsewhere that you wanted to help people learn to cook. I believe one of the prerequisites of knowing how to cook (and one of the best ways of learning) is to make stuff up. That bird's nest thing was a classic example of a 'what if...' scenario.
I know of many people who are afraid to cook (or rigidly stick to the recipes) because they are worried that they'll do something wrong. Experiments such as this are perfect for showing others that cooking does not always require following a recipe.
As culinary classes at school are designed either for a career in catering or just an introduction into making nice things, I'd like to see more vids along this vein that shows people not just how to cook nice recipes, but how to alter them, how to substitute various ingredients you may not have. Maybe even how to use leftovers. Perhaps even do a few videos on how to buy food to last the next week and cook every day. I personally buy some stuff, make something, portion it out and freeze it. Home cooked meals almost every day and minimal cooking when I get home from work. It may not work for everyone (especially families), but there are other ways you can cook home cooked meals every day. Because let's face it, most people either watch cookery programs and think, 'That looks nice. Now I feel like a Maccy's', or they actually get all the ingredients in and cook a special meal for friends and family, and never do it again for months.
tl;dr Don't just teach people how to cook. Teach people how to cook every day.

Starting to realize that almost any kind of meat/fishballs turn out juicier if they are braised like dumplings in a broth/gravy than if they are fried first. Plus, it is healthier. Many of the "kofta"s from Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi cooking are similarly boiled in a gravy.
Yeah, Heston Bloomenthal (the bald guy who uses liquid nitrogen) has said as such, that this idea of pre-frying meats to "seal the juices in" is demonstrably nonsense.
Yeah, sealing the juices doesn't really work, apparently. The browning does help in adding some flavour. That can, however, be achieved in other ways.
