Thankyou for showing how you saved this beautiful plant. I have 2 ponytail palms that i am trying to save, i will use this method. I really appreciate this video blessings always...
I have a 30 year old ponytail that froze back. It was 7 feet tall and get stem rotting. Cut back to 4 feet and put cinnamon on and after 2 days I put wood glue to seal it off. It has continued rotting. I need to cut it back almost 1 foot from the bulb. It does a a baby sprouting on the bulb. My question is after cutting it back do you let it dry out before putting cinnamon on it or put it on right after cutting. Any more information you can add is greatly appreciated. It is also in a huge muck bucket. Hoping to stop the rot and save my beautiful plant I got as a baby.
If she is sprouting than the bulb is safe Only the stem is rooting If the cutting is brown or yellow The stem is gone And if it is white in colour you may grow Apply cinnamon powder on wet don't let it dry and place in dust One thing more you may check the soil mix Maybe repotting can help
I have a ponytail plant im so concerned about. I can’t get the soil to dry out and it’s been really moist for over a week. 😩. I wish I could send you picture but I’m wondering if I need to get the soil off the roots and repot it before it looks like the one in this video.
I live in a cold climate where indoor heat makes the air very dry. Curious where you are from and your thoughts on water in wet vs dry enviorment. Thanks either way. Mine is almost dead and you gave me hope. Haha
I'm not sure if it's a humidity problem. I had mine in full sun in a semiarid climate here in México. Are you sure it's not a root rot problem? You actually need to squeeze the trunk, and it needs to feel soft in order to water. Otherwise don't water it.
Underwatered ponytail palms will have droopy and wilted leaves, And when overwatering the tips of the leaves will turn yellow and Caudex (Bulbous Base) of the tree becomes soft
If the root rot is spread in the hole bulb there is nothing you can do,, If its on the inetial stage cut that part, apply fungicide let it dry at least 24hr , And plant it again
This wasn't in English is not a shame,, the shame is that you can't understand my native language, and I can write and speak yours,, You can ask me about the information you need for plantation,, I'll be there for you, thank you

How often do you water the ponytail palm please? 🌴🌵☘️
Once in a week ( summer)
Once in a month ( winter ) if the soil mix is completely dry
I have an almost dead plant I need guidance with... I really want to save it. It's very old.
Do I water it after repotting? 🙏

Will the leaves grow back on the pony tail palm . I gave it miracle grow
Yes they do....🙂
How can it be made to look like a ball?
I have seen the pictures and "Beaucarnea recurvata" goes up, but at the bottom it is not a ball tree.

So use a mix of fast draining soil sometimes sold as cactus soil. You can mix it with Perlite and sand equal parts each.

I think this is my problem too. I think I need more humidity for it.
