As a professional sublimator in the print industry for 20 years, the press performs fantastically to what I've seen so far. Also, the level of detail that Karley goes into in the video is nothing short of amazing, all those small tips like cutting/ripping the sublimation paper at the bottom etc. Well put together video giving all the necessary details if people are new to sublimation. Also, to this day 20 years later, I still get an air of excitement when a design/graphic goes onto a T-shirt, I never get bored of doing sublimation :)
@@KarleyHall You're most welcome, I appreciate the time and effort that you have spent recording and editing the video. Also, love the fact your video narration wasn't scripted, you'd make a great industrial trainer in the print industry. I've used for most of my 20 years using manual heat presses to large-scale industrial 5 meters by 4 meters in size doing many contract jobs for our clients, I started by using a small heat press in my home to now doing it as a career that I love so much. I'm actually tempted to buy the heat press in the video since I still use a manual heat press at home. My home niche these days is sublimating onto aluminum sheets for wall-hanging photos to A2 size. I'll make the time to watch your other videos very soon, every day is a learning day they say. Best wishes and thank you.
I've had mine since the end of September (I was a Kickstarter backer). I love it! I have several presses and this one has features found on much more expensive models. I've been very impressed! Great video!
I'm having surgery on my right hand soon, and this will make it possible for me to continue to craft. I really appreciate this video. It answered all my questions.
Thanks for a detailed review, Karley! It’s an impressive machine at a good price point-and it’s actually aesthetically pleasing, which is a bonus, too! 🙂👍🏼
I'm now going to buy it because of your review. No one that I know of has done a review and since I am a seamstress - I may open up my product and restitch. Thanks for a grand review.
Great review Karley! I've been considering getting a heat press for a while now and I'm so glad I waited. The main reason I'd like to have a heat press is because I have a very small craft area (my dining table) and I hate getting my easy press out, try to find a place to work (usually on my cooktop), then putting it away every time. Thanks for the dimensions also, very helpful!
Thank you for your honest review. I was watching another channel, they were comparing this with the Cricut Auto, and all they did was trash both products, why they even did the review to begin with is beyond me! Clearly they hated them both and had very little good to say about either. 🙄 Thank you for your positive remarks!
Thank you for this video. Definitely helped me make a decision on whether to move forward with this heat press. Placed my order half way through the video! You did a great job of highlighting the pros and cons.
thank you so much for this informative video. I have watched a couple of videos regarding the HTV and found yours the most helpful. I do own a starcraft heat press which I love but I did go and preorder the HTV. I like how it stops functioning once the press is complete because, ahem, I am guilty of walking away from my press…lol..oops. The price right now is $279 and the timing is right regarding purchase. Thanks again for answering questions I didn’t even know I had until I watched your video.
Hi @almathol How is this press doing for your business? Have you had any problems? I've been looking for a while I like this but money is tight. Thank you for any help. Dee
Thanks for your review! Very good explanation of things and showing how it works. I’m looking to get a heat press and on the fence whether to spring for a more expensive one but I may just go with this one based on your review. Thanks again!
The issue is the timing for me as some of us do things that require longer heat times. I do a fair bit of slate. It requires much more than 90 seconds which I am told this is the max it does. I bought one but have not received it. I have a pneumatic 16x20. This was to be my backup. It will only be a backup for htv or sublimation fabric. I wish they had said what the limitations on timing is. I like that the platen is somewhat consistent in temps. I wish I could get my money back. I would opt for a more expensive heatpress for my needs. No where does it tackle the issue with blanks that require more time. I do appreciate the review.
Best information on this heat press I have watched. Thank you! Is there a general rule of thumb of when you use a teflon sheet and when there is no need. Just got my HTVRont Press yesterday.
Great video with a lot of useful information. I would love to have this at some point. Right now I have the Cricut Easy presses, so it’s hard to justify this expense.
I love my Cricut Easy Presses! They are so versatile. This press is definitely a "nice to have," but absolutely not a must when you have the Easy Presses already!
I have the Easy press and Mini easy press. I do Love the mini but I broke my wrist and trying to get the right amount of pressure with the Easy press is kind of hard and the mini is great but for big jobs it takes some time to do. To get he right pressure just add a pressing pillow/mat or towel to help with the adjustment., as it does auto adjust.
Thank you for your review!! I pre-ordered mine and can't wait for October to come. I do wish the press had more room between the 2 plates, but I think for the price, compared to the Cricut version, is a good compromise. Thank you for sharing!
I paid for mine (pre-order) September 8. They said shipping in October. End of October, no heat press. I contacted them, no response. I filed a case with Pay Pal. Within a day they emailed me if I would drop my complaint they would ship. I responded I would be foolish to drop case before receiving the heat press. Received email today it should arrive today. So we'll see.
Who did you actually receive the email from. My machine was damaged probably in shipping and it cracks (sound) when heating up. I cannot get a response from them. Contact email address says non existence and when I call goes to answering machine and they do not respond.
I appreciate seeing this detailed video. I watched it before purchasing on Amazon. Received mine November 30th 2022. Packaging seemed fine, machine seemed new. The machine malfunctions and does not work. Machine does not close when the start button is clicked, and slide tray is secured in place. I truly hope their customer service team responds and I can either get an exchange or just a refund for my purchase.
Thanks for the review. Love it. I also like the hoodie and sweatshirt you showed, the quality looks good. May I know which brand are they? Thank you very much.
on real downside to me is the space. I t would have been a bit better if the heating plate was raised a bit higher or the platform came out a bit further
Thanks for your review on this. Thinking about purchasing a heat transfer, but wondering if this press can handle mouse pads and ceramic tiles? In addition, are there any accessories to transfer onto mugs?
Hi Karley, have you had any luck layering StarCraft with the autopress? I have not had any luck as all the layers except the top one always end up wrinkled :( Also, would you say the pressure of the autopress is medium or firm?
Loved your video. I was just wondering if this is available in Canada. I was trying to purchase from your link and it says it doesn't ship to my address. I was just in the market for buying my first heat press.
Question about something you mentioned, if you don't mind? 😊 You said the butcher paper was a Cricut habit. Wouldn't the sublimation go through the material on this machine too? Thank you!
Bought mine at Amazon, want to use it in Singapore and bought a 110v converter 2000 watts. But it turns off after about 2-3 minutes of turning it on. :(
This machine looks great. I’ve been looking at these for a while as I can’t get on with mine anymore due to bad hands. This looks a lot easier for my pain. One question I do have if that’s ok. Are you able to use slate etc I. The press for sublimation? What’s the thickest item that the machine can press. Thank you.
It is said to have a clearance of up to 1 inch. However, you can remove the mat and that may give a bit more space. I have been watching all the reviews and I did buy one. As with everything there are pros and cons but for the price I will make it work.Waiting to setup while on my Christmas break....so excited!
I am wondering as the book says it does Fareinheit or Celsius. But I cannot find out how to change it to Celsius. Do you know by any chance??? also great video but it misses this step.
Thanks for this great review. I saw some place that said this needs a designated plug outlet. Not to use in on a strip with several other outlets on it. Do you know if that's true?
Is there a reason why you didn’t use the Teflon sheet when the design had the carrier sheet on it? I use Teflon even when the carrier sheet is still in place. Is that incorrect? I’m new to this.
Unfortunately I found out timer can only go to max 99 seconds so this really is not suitable for anything ceramic as most need 360 seconds and glass about 180 seconds, means I can not do alot of stuff on this machine
Is the temperature only in Fahrenheit of is it also possible in Celsius? I’m from the Netherlands so I’m not familiar with Fahrenheit 😬 T.I.A. Carmen 😁

Have you tried that 3d puff vinyl? I use that alot and wonder if it would puff up still since you can not change pressure

I’ve never had anything go through on any machine. But cricut teaches you to put paper inside just in case :)
do you know if the price will decrease? and what sublimation printer do you recommend
Hi. Do yours make a popping noise while heating up. Not constantly. while heating mines up it pops a couple of time everytime i heat it up?
Yes mine does and someone else said HTVRONT is aware of this but no comments on whether this is dangerous or likely to fail.
I use a lot of Cricut and Siser HTV and vinyl. Are the heat and time settings the same as the Cricut easy press? Thanks.

You can use a Teflon sheet with the carrier- but it’s not always necessary. It depends on the HTV and material you’re pressing on.

The mat on the lower platen actually came with the HTVRont Auto Press!
Can they make hats and tumblers
Not with this heat press
Is it okay to use teflon sheet instead of butcher paper when sublimating?
It’s not recommended. Butcher paper or paper in general is recommended to pull out moisture. Teflon repels moisture.
Is the temperature only in Fahrenheit of is it also possible in Celsius?
I’m from the Netherlands so I’m not familiar with Fahrenheit 😬
T.I.A. Carmen 😁
You can hold down the thermometer icon and toggle between both!

Can I ask were are you from and does this heat press have Australia safety standards
I’m in the United States so I’m not sure about that!
Does it fit a hoodie with the hood bunching at the back or maybe those thicker blanks like a sublimation slate? Or is this just good for shirts?
11:15 shows a sweatshirt with a hood 🥰
It can fit thickets blanks! It’ll automatically detect it and stop. Anything that fits in the gap can be pressed!
Does the power light always blink even when your not using it?
Yes. I keep mine unplugged.
@@KarleyHall ok thank you
