That is an automatic disqualification, are all the judges asleep
She was officially disqualified in the final results. The announcers were definitely asleep as should have known from step three that she was out of the race.
Surely disqual!
Eisa should have been disqualified as she is supposed to stay outside the yellow line until after the cones when the runners in that group can cut in
Ya wasn't even close went down to the second lane two steps after the start.
She was DQ'd but somehow the announcers didn't spot it in the beginning.
Ethiopian did not stay in lane at start
It's so obvious that eisa changed lanes to quickly to get to the rail
The women's 2 mile featured several historic times and drama up front. The official winner, Laura Muir broke the British national record by running 9:04.84.
Eisa should have been disqualified.Watch the begging of the race. She crossed lanes straight away
She did get DQ'd.
Eisa did not run the 2mile clear disqualification
I don't understand why the winner of this race wasn't disqualified for leaving her lane (was on outside group) before at least the first turn. She had to be told to reposition herself before the start. A good starter would have immediately stopped the race and instructed the teenager what the rules are for running on indoor tracks. She obviously doesn't know them. This maneuver effectively put her in front of the runners starting along the rail.
get a grip clown
Asa wasn't the runner who left her lane at the start: that was Wudu....
@@stevencraven4897 no it wasn't. You're allowed to go back and check the video. She was DQ'd
@@stevencraven4897 Yes, it was Eisa who left her outside lane. It is very easy to check the video. She was disqualified.
Winner of the race should be DQ’d for a lane violation at the start.
here's the official comments after the event...
Ethiopian teenager Medina Eisa surged to the line in the Mary Beth Hogan women's 2-mile and took the win in 9:04.39, but she didn't stay in the outside alley to start the race, cutting inside early. She was DQ'ed shortly after the race. Ultimately, Britain's Laura Muir was then named the official winner.11 Feb 2024
Love Muir and Monson, despite having strengths at different distances. Very similar in their outlook to racing, they both give it their all!
Why wasnt she disqualified for running a shorter distance, not one judge picked an obvious foul?
She was. Someone should have told her.
Good job Laura - love your style
Ha! We all would love to cheat like that!
Go on Laura❤️🏴❤️
Shame that the starters didn't realise Eisa wasn't sure of the markings...had they taken the time to indicate that she had to stay outside that line...
Laura, for me ALWAYS, THE BEST.😊😊😊
That yellow line is pretty bright how did she miss that, Laura even pointed it out to her so Laura won, Eisa was supposed to wait until the beginning of the backstretch to change lanes, Other than that great race Laura and Alicia are awesome! Loved it thanks.
Laura NOT Lara !!
Laura Muir tried to run the Eisa off the track at the finish. Muir is as dirty as they get...
The finish line ribbon holders occupy the first and part of the second lane you have to go inside the way they hold it@@deeplorable8988
Laura was not trying to run her off the track, You have to move to the middle lanes to finish because of the way the ribbon holders occupy the first and part of the second lanes@@deeplorable8988
No the finish line ribbon holders occupy the first and second lanes you have to go to the middle lanes to cross the finish line@@deeplorable8988
It must be disclaff Wudu number 10 for afterstart yellow-line ...
The Stark-girl was beaten!
Eisa Disqualivication, wrong lane at Start
It's nice to see such diversity in the runners. Monson does not have a number, shouldn't she be disqualified?
Not sure if official starter could have called a false start since the infraction was immediate. Also not sure why the officials continued to let her run the entire race if they knew she would be disqualified. Very strange turn of events. Glad Laura won but 99.9 percent sure the DQ'd athlete would have won even if no lane infraction. They will both race another day, so lesson learned: no mental mistakes at this level.
Why did the commentators stop and then suddenly come back.... very weird?
Dr Laura Muir won and Alicia the world could use more of you two very nice race all of these atheletes.
Eisa did end up getting DQ'd
Muir is so impressive. Went just a tad too early IMO.
Diffidently not a legal run record should not count
yep...EISA disqualification. you don't need to know anything about athletics to see that yellow line was there for a reason
I am a great fan of Laura Muir , but she may need to work on that killer “ kick “ in the last 500 meters , as there will be those( indefatigable) Ethiopian lasses - who seem to be able to breeze past everyone - especially in the last 500 ….😮
Laura didn't kick because she knew Eisa was disqualifed, Lauras kick is awesome
@@Runner.4k lol.....laura mura kick is non existent
Why are we showing this now, when we couldn't see any action at the time of any ustf because it blocked any streaming at the time before the world indoors championship
What is it with the slinging of the flowers. Either decline them or hand them to someone else
So that a lucky person will grab it. By the way the flower was imported from Ethiopia
She might have figured out she was disqualified
@@Runner.4k Ethiopian make UK cry
Ethiopian lost the race@@Hkim185
@@Runner.4k
Regardless UK girl cry just look at her ...u give a win to her with DQ
Now I am waiting for rematch...
No advantages gain by cutting early because ot is not 800m it is 3000m all it come down is the last 100m
Despite her making a mess at the start, at just 19 years old Eisa would seem to be the future! She seemed to be running so easily.
Eisa ran a fabulous last lap, finished by far the strongest
No Laura backed off and didn't kick she knew Eisa was disqualified
Yeah, after running 10 less meters than everyone else, you're expected to finish the strongest 🙄
J'me suis toujours demandé pourquoi les gens couraient pour revenir au même endroit...?
What's with Muir going two lanes wide in the stretch trying to block?
They literally have to because of where the finishing banner is held. The inside most holder is in the 2nd lane meaning you need to move into the 3rd lane to avoid a collision. They keep the 1st lane open for any athletes that are being lapped.
at the end the yank running wide do anything to win huh?
DQ'd or not those young Ethiopian women were something else .
Thankfully NBC didn't do these. They are effing terrible, and usually a spoiler title to boot. They shouldn't be allowed to cover anything above the special Olympics' pickleball competition.
대단하다👍
Viva Eisa, Viva the graceful Ethiopian beauties, period.
She cheated, she should have been disqualified
It is a pitty for Muir ❤❤❤
Last name Muir....auspicious california name, definitely comes from big money. Must be nice to run on a dream instead of having to struggle to make ends meet.
And you researched who she is and where she comes from?
@@douglasdodds8490 sure did, Scottish, she is the great niece of John Muir the prominent Californian I mentioned. Any other questions?
🥳🥳🥳🥳😂😂😲😲😲👎👎👎
@@Shjanzey…Dr. Laura Muir is a veterinarian graduating from the University of Glasgow. She definitely has worked hard on her education and middle distance running being one of the best in the world! John Muir, born in Scotland, and grew up in Wisconsin, graduating from UW-Madison, so I don’t really think he’s a Californian! Hahaha! She the grand niece of a Scottish home builder!!
She's a vet in Scotland, hardly going to be a billionaire anytime soon, maybe if she moves to America and follows the Dream.
😂
D.V.M... WINNER yz animal SURGEON!!!
Muir tho
hiltzzz........i dunno...???????rainbow-girl.......lol
Monson is a hottie…
Why are ethiopians running in our meets?
Wait until you find out who won the race!!
@@JamesSmith-qv4fd "They" won. "We" lost.
@@bluenetmarketing You don't even know who won the race? It wasn't an Ethiopian.
@@JamesSmith-qv4fd They won the race I saw. So now you are the one who doesn't know what they're talking about.
@@bluenetmarketing They didn't - assuming by 'they' you mean Ethiopians. The first across the line was disqualified. The person who was second across the line won. You will assume she was American. She wasn't she was Scottish. Are you as unhappy about her participating I wonder?
Eisa the winner. Did the commentators wait until over 5 minutes into the race to even mention her name? I believe so. When Muir made her move Eisa stuck to her like glue and Kara Goucher ignored her still! Didn't fit with narrative I guess.
What? Give me a break.
Boycott Olympic Games if Russia is allowed.
😂uu
A little dirty play by Muir going wide to block her opponent.
You have to move to the middle lanes in order to finish because the way they hold the ribbon they occupy the first and secnd lanes
Not after what the winner had already done running a shorter distance
AWWWW, NO GUYS DRESSED UP COMPETING.
I like it America always win in Dq, if u r desperate why not make those two Ethiopians gove them citizenship and let them run for u ...let make business deal
What? She started in the wrong lane to start the race it's an obvious DQ
@@jaredshorten9708
Listen what kind of advanctage did switching the line give them this is not 100m race the American runner sit and cry
guess what it would be the last time the American runner going to win so enjoy it while it last
trust me we send u rookies we still defeaft u, all the technology and money didn't help u...the only way u truly win is when Ethiopians start running for u and I am more then happy they do because I love running I want to be popular
Running is the best self defense if ten thousand people try to attack u first they have to catch u...
@@Hkim185she's not American
@@jaredshorten9708
What is the difference between UK or US all r cry baby
I still think the sport will get a boost if Ethiopians start running for UK and US
Now take about Millrose Games it is 116 years old game . This,The World’s Most Prestigious Indoor Track & Field Competition award prize is for 1st. $5000 now is this not a joke had American citizens start winning the game properly the game will become popular that is what I am driving at
Look at u ur Somaliland runner Mr.Moh make u proud many times over so I want the same for American they don't get free ride the train the Ethiopian runners and both talent and technical skills will give us superior quality runners try it u might like it.
@@Hkim185 i believe you're blowing this all out of proportion. I dont think they were targeting the Ethiopian, yet i think if she had stayed in the outer lane, she still would have won, she is very talented for being young. Like you said Millrose games is very prestigious. With it being a classic, I believe rules should be rules. Are we not supposed to be strict on rules when it comes to pro racing. Whether it was a mistake or not, the committee has to deny her the win because the starter always tells the runners to stay in the outer lane, then cut in at the bend. Im sure eisa will be very prominent in the running world from here on out though. Even though she ran just short of a full 2 mile, i believe she will run faster through out the season and win very often.
I am appalled at all the hate in these games. There is not a single male competing here. 😮
Eat them grapes before they sour, she won fair and square
always fun to listen the usual biased american commentary about how one of their own is going to win and set a new record who ends up not being in the same class as the non americans who leave her for dead
Always interesting to hear non-Americans surprised that American commentators are partisan.
I didn't detect any biase from the commentary, if fact nothing was mentioned about an American winning this race.....Alicia ran a gutsy race and was rewarded with the American record by some 3sec. (which the male commentator mentioned pre-race "she may have a crack at")
always fun to have other countries join us viewing an American media broadcast at an American race put on by American technology
They also didn’t comment how Eisa totally broke the rules and was DQd.
The race took place at February 11. I watched it back then and watched also all about Eisa's disqualification. Muir knew from start on that Eisa will get dqed. Thank you americans for providing races on an international level. No reason to complain. Of course the national commentators care about their own runners. They should. My german commentators are much worse and races without german participation are not shown at all.
