Nice gesture to do.
No yelling or screaming about quality going down hill.
Just a nice story of family kindness.
Thanks 👍!
What a great uncle! I hope your family member remembers your kindness and passes it along when they're able.
Thanks for the comment 👍!
That's something to be proud of. feels good bringing a car back from the dead
Grandma said.... 😂 Now we understand the motivation. You did a thorough job, I'm sure they're grateful
She initially bought the relative the car so that was definitely part of the motivation! Thanks for the comment!
Everybody needs an uncle like Dave!

Great guy to pay for and do all of this work. Hope it is appreciated.
Me too! Thanks for the comment!
I'm really surprised the head and or the block wasn't warped. Good job
They were lucky!
That’s a very lucky family member! I wish that I knew someone who would do $3000.00 of work on my 17-year old car for free! You are a big-hearted person! 🌟
That's at least a 23-24 year old car. Sixth Gen Civics were only made through to the year 2000.
Once again, no good deed goes unpunished, especially with family.
Early reporting team checking in! Thanks for another informative video! 🔧 👍
You bet!
Good video
This car has 9 lives like a cat! Such a great uncle ..
You are a great family member. Can you adopt me😅
Lol, thanks!
Muito bom trabalho , mas morando nos USA , fica facil cuidar destas joias! No Brasil as peças sao super caras e quase nao se encontra!
Your a good uncle
I try!!
Hi Dave, love your informative videos Brother 🙂.
Dave, what would cause a clonking noise whenever the car moves forwards or backwards, or even driving along and then punch the gas pedal, theres a clonking noise, it sounds like its coming from underneath around the middle of the vehicle.
Ive checked and replaced any motor and transmission mounts that has any signs of being shot including the rear engine mount but still getting this clonking noise
Do you recommend putting an RTV sealant on the water pump gasket, I have watched some videos they don't add any sealant
Grandma always gets her way, lol
Yes she does!
Why did they make the ac belt wrap around the motor mount?
That's just to force you to notice the mount is cracked so you replace it, right?
So how often does it need to be resurfaced a 50/50 chance or every time
my 95 civic cold air vent isn't all cool, a slight bit of heat I can feel. for this reason, the AC doesn't feel cold from the vents. AC was checked by a shop and everything is normal so the issue is not the AC. Your thoughts on how to check why there is heat seeping through when the vent is set to cold? Thank you!
I would look for a blend door problem if AC system is truly working perfectly (either a bad blend door actuator or the blend door not moving, binding up or not sealing as it should). If you paid a shop to diagnose the AC and the vent Temps were not good, I would think they would have looked further and told you why.
@@BigDog50001 thank you for the tip. The shop said the AC system is working as expected and that old cars doesn't have super cold AC. I also suspect the blend door not sealing completely but from my research on it, the repair job is sizable. Need to remove dash to get at it. I may open up a big can of worms doing that. ~ Mike
I just bought a 1995 honda civic kid said it need new valve seals...took it to the shop teaterday now im have the head resurfaced and new head gaskets and a full aluminum radiator i just ordered and over flow tank
Hopefully it will be as good as new after the repairs!
Hi Dave do these engines require a valve adjustment like my 2.4?
If you loosen the valve train or have the head worked on it's required. If only pulling the head and reinstalling and the car was running OK they can usually be left alone.
@@BigDog50001 Thanks
Good for at least 100,000 more miles
What brand head gasket and head bolts bolts did you use?
Fel-Pro and SKP. I showed the new parts at the beginning of video.
@@BigDog50001 Thanks! How did I miss that?!
It's easy to do lol!
Any need to retorque head bolts these days ??
Not after the initial sequence.
Wow that was a total timing belt wipeout! Now will see what aftermarket part will blow out first! Was the head warped after that kind of meltdown? That was an expensive rebuild you saved the little green monster from the crusher!
Damn for all the labor could have just put in a new engine would have been easier everything with the engine out
Nice, can you do mine now for free? I need the whole package: complete tune up, new tires, brakes, wipers, exhaust, timing chain and water pump, fresh coolant, AC recharge and new trans fluid etc.
Only if you are family, and I like you lol
