I have been watching your RUclips videos. I honestly can say. You are a very good person,Kind, and honest auto mechanic. Who put your knowledge, money and time to fix this Honda Civic car. That said it all. Not too many Auto mechanics would do what just did. You are an exceptional human being that goes above and beyond, just to help this person. God bless you and may the mighty Lord bless your beautiful family. Love your videos.
Thank you, I appreciate the comment!!
Buena gente=good people good heart. Becoming rare these days👍
As the owner of a 1991 Civic, I ALWAYS am thrilled to see more old Civic, and D-Series content. Thank you, Big Dog! =)
Thanks 👍!
I've owned 3 Honda Civics, and 2 of them went over 200k, but you do have to be nice to them! You have to check the fluid levels but owners frequently forget, and this is what happens. I fixed up one of my Civics (a seventh generation) after the owner let it overheat, but it wasn't as bad as the car in the video, it was just the radiator in my case. The car looked terrible, but after I fixed it by replacing all the things the owner didn't fix the car was VERY reliable and was taken on several long trips. I'm glad you fixed the car, it looks like it was worth it (for now).
They like it when you are nice to them! Thanks for the input!
Dave thanks for sharing. Very nice of you to help someone out. Hopefully it will stay together . Lucky the belt didn’t break. Lucky none of those melted cover pieces got tangled up in the belt drive. Nice job. 👍
Very lucky so far on this one, thanks for the comment!
That was a good save Dave! Good for another 200000 mile!
At least lol, thanks Mike!
Good for you for helping out family, Iv'e been down that road . Hopefully no head gasket issues
Thanks Jonathan!
Uncle Dave is always the favorite uncle.
lol

Dave, DAMN GOOD SAVE on that engine!!! Loved this video, actually watched it twice! Your family is very lucky to have you on their team!! Happy New Year!,
No wonder my views went up lol! Thanks for the comment!
Nice of you to dip into your own pockets to fix it. Good job
Thanks!
Great video uncle Dave, I'm known as uncle Tony who also helps out my family members with their cars.
Thanks 👍!
Pick up instructions will include a lesson on the temperature gauge.
That's for sure!
Awesome job Uncle Dave.
Thanks!
Holy moly!! That one got hot!! It's amazing that problems haven't shown up so far but I'd be expecting it eventually. Never seen one get that hot without blowing the head gasket. I hope it hold up for them though. Great video Dave!
Yep, it certainly got toasty, thanks for the comment!
So awesome you helped them out Uncle Dave. Awesome! Hopefully no head gasket problems. Great 6th gen Civic’s
We'll see, thanks for the comment!
You have done a real job.

Enjoyed the video, your a good man for helping those who need it.
Thank you!
Well done!
Thanks!
I've got a sister who's in the same boat. She had a minor wreck with her accord but doesn't have the money to fix it so I'm going to help her with the repairs. I bought a parts car so we have everything and more we'll need.
Awesome, hopefully you get is fixed up for her!
These are the types of things you do when you’re a Big Dog
Wow sounds muy bueno
Definitely better than before lol
Will wait patient,y for the compression and leak down test
👍
Combustion block test will probably show head gasket leak. You could also send away for an oil analysis test for coolant in the oil. Honda head gaskets don’t like to be overheated I know that from my ‘93 CB7 when she gave up at 260,000
👍
Love your content!
I have been observing on my 2011 Honda Civic that it is sluggishly accelerating after like 40 mph. What could be an issue? It has 179k miles on it.
Your Matrix moves look like my stiff back move from working on my 1999 Civic LX, 165k mi. Going to change the pads and rotors next. Have a rattle that probably an exhaust leak or loose mounts.
lol, thanks for the comment!!
As long as the heads didn't warp from overheating, a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, radiator and hoses should do the trick.
Thanks for the input!
What caused the overheating? I was surprised to hear a perfect ignition and smooth idle-not to mention great acceleration, which I’ve heard on my 1990 Accord
I believe it started with a cracked radiator and after it started to overheat it blew out the water pump seal.
You're still getting 100 degree weather over there in az?
Not right now, this was recorded a couple months ago.
Morning sir
Good morning!
I am older than you but I am okay if you adopt me 😊
lol!!
