      Basically he had to remove the motor mounts so the engine could be low enough so he reach up inside. Honda is notoriously bad with that. The older Honda's are a bit better space wise and a bit easier to work with. As much as he'd say not to I had a 1994 accord with 275k on the engine that ran beautifully

    8:35 for me It was the windshield wipers that were vibrating, I thought it was the dash board too until one of the mechanics told me it was the loose black trim the wipers were attached too. They tried to make me pay $200 for a new one but I just bought a $20 windshield black sealant and put it under and sealed it. 90% the noise is gone. Only does it when on a bumpy road.

      I have 138k on my 14' Civic ex. Have had to replace a torque mount. Just had a evap emissions issue fixed. Other than those issues, motor is strong and the one thing I was unsure of, the CVT is still buttery smooth. I'd change the transmission fluid earlier than what Honda says. Reason being, you just never know. End of the year I'll trade it for something a little bigger. Maybe a 16' or 17' accord. Been driving a compact last 11 years. Ready to go midsize again.

    Hondas are usually dependable and nice cars (although Toyota still retains its position at the top for reliability), but what a huge design flaw. Seriously, having to drop and raise the entire engine that many times just to replace a new tensioner for a 5 year old car (which shouldn't even need it being that new of a car)? My 2004 Camry with a V6 wouldn't even be nearly that difficult to replace an a belt tensioner or Idler Pulley!

  • @jmdennis1967
    @jmdennis1967 3 года назад

    This reminds me of my Pontiac Grand Prix. I had the alternator die on the car. The year model before was up top of the engine so an easy repair. The one I had you had to remove the right front tire. Drop the A frame just to get to it. The people who design these cars need to consider those working on the cars.

    The r18 is definitely tight to work with but it is one of the most simple engines you will ever work on a single overhead cam four cylinder something breaks on this car it's very easy to fix
