Hey Scotty what do you think about a 2013 Honda Accord Sport I saw it on Craigslist they said it is free.
i learned a technique to check for a bent valve with a piece of paper on the tail pipe. it rattles if theres a bent valve. is that accurate?

thanks for the knowledge scotty
My dad watched you everyday. He used my RUclips to like and share your videos all the time. He passed away Monday. Thank you for your videos and showing him things
Awwww, my condolences. This is my very first time watching this guy. He seems to be HIGHLY informative. I feel like I learned a WEALTH of information from this one video. Your dad must have been a wise individual.
I'm really sorry to hear... my biggest condolences to you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
Very sorry for your loss. :(
very sorry for your loss ;( stay strong ❤️
You’re putting the power in the people’s hands. That’s priceless Scotty.

Spreading the knowledge. I wish Scotty was my uncle
This guy is stupidly dangerous.
Dude even mechanics do not this
I'm an old Air Force maintainer with eight kids, so I'm always fixing my kids' cars and their friends' cars. I truly enjoy and revere you and your show for teaching me stuff that help keep a lot of cars on the road!

Also, I always believed he used Scott's brand mulch. This man knows quality.

I've spent most of my 65 years in the car and motorcycle business, and love how you give everyman's explanation of auto repair, not to mention showing us old dogs useful applications of new technologies. Thanks for being such a great, fun resource.
Im a mechanic of almost twenty years and info like this is priceless. Thank you.
Why do mechanics rip people off 🤣 JK
Yeah man Scotty is the best. Saved me a ton of dough. Nothing wrong with my engine at all. Reflashed ecu and ran for 125k with zero probs. Then I got top dollar selling it with A: Having all paperwork. B: Steam cleaning and degreasing the engine compartment. C: I took Scotty's advice!!! HAHAHAHAH😸

they threw away the mold when they made Scotty i watch every day he is the BEST car dude on the net.
I’m going to an aviation mechanical school, don’t want to mention any names but man you have shown me more than all of the teachers in that school combined. Thank you for the years of knowledge. I hope you receive all the gifts you deserve. 🙏
Uhhhh, that’s a disturbing thought.
I am a Red Seal automotive service technician since 2010. Scotty is legit and I can still learn from him. Thanks for the tips Scotty! I hope computer choose me to win one of those...
Dave SL Glad to know people like you are always learning about it just as we are along the way and I have hope that this kind of thing gets passed down after Scotty is gone
I'm a home grown mechanic for my 69' Chevelle (family owned and have driven since I was 18, now I'm 62) and 48 y/o Plymouth, learned alot from Scotty's videos for my modern cars. Listening to Scotty has helped keep my childhood 1965 lawnmower running as good as new. Yes, mowing yards for money when I was in first grade, I LOVE THAT MOWER! So thanks to Scotty, it seems that mower can't wait to mow my 3/4 of an acre.
I just found Scotty 😁 yesterday, and have been BINGE watching ever since!
Lol he awesome. A mechanic that transcends beyond the "mechanic youtube community" is pretty impressive. You know how much charisma/genius it takes to do that?
Lol
I’ve been working in my own cars since a child, watching this guy for the last month I’ve learned and realized every little thing I did wrong or could of done differently. This man is a HUGE HELP!!!
Scotty's hands keep moving even when he's sleeping.
That’s the word on the street
Negative, Scotty doesn't sleep
LOL
He’s probably sleeping now 🤣😭

I'd love to see the face of a used car salesman when you whip out a meter and start running tests...would be priceless!!!
He would die lol
I've done it and they actually wont care, you being interested enough to test the car would make them happy that you're a potential customer.

He tells a whole story with his hands.
Yeah he's gold👍👍

Great video man, I haven’t seen my dad for years so I didn’t have a father figure to teach me about stuff like cars and it’s just nice that’s there’s a channel like yours
Sounds like Scotty went to the school of “work smarter not harder “.
TaosDad31
I think mike Rowe said work smarter and work harder
He was the teacher of work work smarter school.
scotty, is a genius!! if I've lived closer, he'd be my mechanic no questions asked..
I'm master electrician, but Scotty is training me to be a car mechanic😂
I dont trust anyone so i gotta do everything myself. God bless Scotty
I’m a master baiter and he’s helping me too!
I am a master fortnite gamer and hes helping me!!
Scotty is probably one of the best mechanics out there, he makes a seemingly complicated task a very simple one!
I 💕Scotty's computer..his brain!!
Ty ..always wanted to be a mechanic since 11...worked with my Gramps..an ACE mechanic..no computers back then. All done with hearing, sight, feel and knowledge. Miss those days .hate computers with 4 wheels.🤬
This is one of Scotty's best videos. Simple tips to save time & money.
@@sicilyny5375My dad was like that back in the day. One time his Oldsmobile was running rough. He sent my brother to the garage to get his timing light, and by the time he came back my dad had already been turning the distributor and listening. And I'll be damned if he wasn't dead nuts on with the marks! He's rolling in his grave for sure at the technology in today's cars. Back in the Day an engine swap was white a morning or an afternoon? If that! Nowadays, it's a minimum of 12 hours just to R&R an engine.
Now that's useful stuff. I wonder how many so-called mechanics have no knowledge of this kind of information.
Me
I work in the IT field. If mechanics are about the same educated as computer technicians, then hardly any of them know this, cause there are a lot of dumb professionals.
Prescriptions are more profitable than the cure.
Xandine Fathom Trust me, I know. I’m a diabetic.
@Jim Kohler ...... yes.... painfully so...
When I retire from the Army, it will be in Houston. Thank you for all of your selfless service by providing all of this amazing information.
As a retired Electronics Engineering Technician I truly appreciate your skill at demonstrating electronic tests that can easily check for faulty components with minimum effort! Way Cool Scotty!
I've tinkered around on cars forever. It's kind of a hobby for me and I know a fair amount about working on them. But I'm always learning new things here watching Scotty. Another great and informative video!
Same here I've learned through trial and error for many years and I learn a lot of useful stuff from Scotty I love it
Scotty reminds me of my mentor that taught me how to become a real mechanic Fritz I will never forget you “logic and leverage”
I actually found somebody on RUclips I have to listen at one time speed
Meanwhile he's 3X speed.
@Moto 90 bad life?
Lmao i never knew could do that 😆😆😆😆 I can't stop laughing. I'm cryin oh boy whew
My dude I hate when people speak slow af Hahahaha so I understand XD 😂
Thank you Scotty for taking the time to help people with their car issues. Its not something you needed to start doing, but many including myself are very thankful you have.
Love your videos. I've been working on cars for 50 years and still learn stuff as they change. Watching your videos give a lot of insight to easier ways to diagnose and repair issues.
I'm studying a bachelors in electrical engineering and its always so cool to see things that relate to my major! That graphical multi-meter is so cool. I didn't know they existed.
I just watched that one and had to rewind it as i was like," what the hell did he just call that thing?!". Lol. Love this guy!
I really don’t think shady mechanics like this guy.
Nope! Thats y ppl are better off watching scotty vids and doing repairs themselves lol
They don't even know about Scotty so F them!
You are rite sir....at this point its 315 of em...lol
Lol
Especially when you present ur knowledge to ur mechanic from scotty's education they look at you like ur talking from another planet either they really don't know or they are shock that I know n don't knw how to relate
I grew up with relatives that are mechanics and I still learn a ton from you Scotty. Love this channel.
Just found this channel and I'm hooked this dude's got so much content and knowledge, 1 of my favorite channels thanks scotty
Scotty literally act's like a car is just a playground, while I am scared to touch anything I don't have to when working on it.
☝️🏾☝️🏾☝️🏾☝️🏾 same here
Stick the Tonka trucks and Erector Sets, they're more your speed.
More people need to watch these. So many people have no idea to do the simplest thing. They'll look at an engine & know absolutely nothing & intimidated. Then end up getting scammed or ripped off.
Krazy 80 Baby
What would really show intelligence is to NOT buy something that you are intimidated by.
@@fastinradfordable People are intimidated by changing a tire. Or their own oil or air filter. But they still need a car. I was just saying if more people watched these videos. They'd be like hmmm. That's not hard to do.
This happened to my aunt, guy wouldnt let her drive the car and the engine was basically seized...she wouldnt listen to anyone
Krazy 80 Baby exactly 👍🏾
Love you, Scotty. You are THE BEST !! Hope the move went smoothly and you're all settled in (more or less) in your new home. Keep up your good work. You are one in a million !
I'm glad I stumbled on your channel. Wish there were more mechanics like you willing to put themselves out there like you.
This is one of the best car advice videos, learned something very efficient and new , thanks S.K.!

Excellent info man. You crack me up with your sound effects.
This has got to be one of my favourite Scotty videos, incredibly helpful advice put in a very clear and easy to understand way. Thanks Scotty.
Great mix of facts, useful info, and humor. Keep doing these and I'll keep watching.
I enjoy your videos! You have a way of explaining things that is both simplified and entertaining! I have a background in mechanics, but my knowledge is antiquated from the 60s 70s, and 80s. You help clarify things I once knew but have forgotten! Plus, I enjoy your honesty! Thank You!
I learned how to swap out my suspension because of you Scotty. I love how much information you have obtained of your life
I really appreciate the usefulness of this video. I would love to see some graphs of cars with issues as a follow up. Thanks again for your time and expertise!
I been watching scotty for a year now. I've never seen a comment where somebody has challenged what he has said. That says something about his knowledge
@Jim Kohler sure
This dude doesn't know everything and really, he's not always correct.
Hey Scotty, it’s good to see you talk about these different tricks as I need to learn many of them as it seems like several of my vehicles are giving me a little problem here and there. One of them they’re telling me that the cylinder is bad on My truck but I think I’m going to have to watch your video a couple of times so I can understand exactly how the electrical portion works and get down the routine. Anyway I enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm I hope you have a great day and hope you keep making good videos to help us all out
Love your channel Scotty, I've been watching your channel for years but I still learn new tricks every time I watch a new vid! Thank you tons!
