- Sheriff Grady Judd provided more details and released the dashcam video from the Uber driver's vehicle who shot and killed a man in unincorporated Polk County.
With a boyfriend like that, the Uber driver probably saved Jessica's life.
Definitely some massive hospital bills at the least.

Only this time, I now have a gun and I don't want them getting a hold of it. I realized as soon as I strapped it on that I could not have confrontations, even if they are only verbal, because verbal confrontations sometimes leads to physical confrontations and the stakes were much, much higher now. I became a lot nicer.

I worked at a homeless shelter for years w this "useless generation." With people who worked 2 jobs and volunteered while working on their master's degree. I had a situation like this in winter haven, on avenue g in front of the Walgreens. Me and another driver almost collided as I was making a left from a light that had turned from yellow to red with me in the intersection so I turned out of the intersection into the left lane of 1st street, at this same time another driver was turning right onto first street never checked the intersection for oncoming traffic and proceeded to turn right and jump directly into the far left lane almost colliding with my car, he honked at me and became visibly upset, so I began paying a little more attention to him and his movements at this point. So we drive about another mile and come to the intersection of avenue g and 1st street where the Walgreens sits and there’s already cars at the light, I pull up and stop in traffic, there’s cars to my right left and in front of me and this sideways ass**** stops his car behind me effectively boxing me in, throws his car in park and gets out screaming and yelling “I’m gonna f you up” so I had my wife reach down and unlock my box where I keep the g19, get it ready for him in the 3-5 seconds it takes him to storm his way up to my car throwing his arms around and what not, rolled the window down just enough to get my pistol and hand out if the threshold and told him to step the hell away from my vehicle, I have NEVER seen someone’s color leave their face so quickly in all my 28 years. Now luckily it didn’t come to me resorting to shooting him that day but keep in mind my wife was in the passenger seat and my 2 year old daughter was in the back. All this to say listen to Grady Judd and leave people alone, you never know what someone else is thinking, or the paranoia, anxiety, or downright fear they may be feeling when you exit your vehicle to approach someone in traffic angrily. It’s not worth your life people!!!

I LOVE this sheriff. This case is why this law was written. Too many people use it to justify their own violent and out of control behavior. This case however is a no brainer.

With this video, which shows that deadguy used his trunk (a deadly weapon) to stop the shooterguy and then deadguy threaten shooterguy with a deadly weapon, he likely would have been fine under a "balls to the wall" statue.

After tailgating, then forcing the Uber driver off the road, the Aggessor quicky approached , declared that he had a pistol, and brandished his cellphone ( deliberately) as if it were a pistol, pointing it leveled at the Uber driver. Slam dunk, righteous shooting.

We had a guy in our community who would pick fights with strangers at our local bar and always won. The last time he did it the stranger pulled out a gun and killed him. The stranger drove off and was never seen again.
