Who made the voice of the wolf/death was the brazilian actor Wagner Moura, he did the Narcos series
and Elysium too
Who else didn't expect this movie to go this hard?
"his voice is familiar" that's wagner moura guys! you might recognize his voice from narcos, or maybe the Tropa de Elite movies, if you've seen them :) he's a pretty outstanding brazillian actor
I knew Roshi would laugh after the "Don't you know I'm dead inside?" line lmao I dunno why I felt like that was absolutely hilarious and other reactors don't react the same lmaoooo
22:06 “This guy’s voice is familiar.” That’s because Wolf is voiced by Wagner Moura (Pablo Escobar in “Narcos”).
I did hear that the animators were inspired by the SpiderVerse film so that's why the animation on the film looked completely different. I think they mention they wanted to bring out more expressions to the characters.
Which they did!
Something interesting, when Death/Lobo has that little rant in Spanish, he says “Why did I have to go and play with my food?”
Death the Wolf was the BEST character in this whole movie
I hope we see him in Shrek 5!!!
Imagine if the Shrek 5 villain is near his death and then he suddenly hears the whistle implying that his death has come
@@justsomeguywholovesberserk6375that would be badass!!
Um no, main trio is better
Watched it yesterday and can't get over how genuinely good it was
Yes i too hate when speaking animals in a soul reading shapeshifting dark forest start defying gravity while floating rocks are suspended in air because of magic map got forced to stopped midway between "mountains of sorrow" and "Nostalgic Pines". That's a real bullshhhhhh moment.
i saw this in the theatre, and when Death started growling at the end of the last fight, the whole room started to rumble. gave me chills, and made me respect puss a lil more too. i would've folded. I'll take the extra lives thanks bro
With movies like this, Rise of the TMNT, and Spiderverse, I’m glad we are getting more amazing stories with amazing fight choreography.
This was such a good movie the Wolf 🐺 even scared me at times 🤣
33:40 | I'm pretty sure Shrek has had 4 movies, lol.
"im Death, straight up"
"i wonder if no one else can see him" "yeah i wonder if hes not real"
He even specifically said he wasn't a metaphor.
5:31 Said it last time too, but Big Bad Wolf was already in Shrek & Shrek 2 (he doubles as the Wolf in Red Riding Hood & in the Three Little Piggies)
A shame Lupa didnt watch this with you. I think he would've loved it
They actually all got their wish in the end. Puss got to live, Kitty got someone to love, Perrito got friends, Goldie got a family, Death got respect and Jack got all the magic in the world. Really good writing.
If I had a nickel for every movie I've seen in 2022 where someone exploded into confetti, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice...
31:05 "Is that like a hint that they're gonna do a Shrek 3?" There's actually already a Shrek 3, AND 4 lol. They are supposedly working on a fifth one.
I'm not even a big fan of the Shrek series, but I went to see this movie in theaters twice because it's just that spectacular. Really hoping DreamWorks can capitalize on the momentum of this film for future projects.
33:13 (Death) Wolf’s voice appears as Wagner Moura. I see he appeared in Netflix’s The Gray Man (great action spy flick btw) & Elysium (science fiction dystopian drama), along with another 41 movies I don’t recognize. He’s either gotten better with time or gone underrated for a while.
He is one of the best brazilian actors, I might not agree with some of his opinions, but his performances are really good. Here in Brazil he is most famous for being the lead of the national movie "Tropa de Elite" ("Elite Squad" in english). He also appeared on the series Narcos. I didn't recognize him in my first watch of this movie, because I am used to listening him in portuguese. He has even more variety, more range than I imagined.
3:21 in this part Where the crowd of people cheering for Puss, you can actually see Death in the background watching
So glad that I could catch your reaction this time. For some reason the first one was blocked due to the country that I'm in, and then it got removed.
Shrek currently has 4 movies. The next one would be 5.
I really enjoyed this movie and seeing the little nods to shrek and seeing some other characters was great. Also just to let u know Shrek has 4 movies and Shrek 5 has been confirmed for years now with Dreamworks having illumination do the animation.
I’m so glad everyone watching this masterpiece
Calm down it’s not that good
@@P2_grim2 It's that Good
@@justsomeguywholovesberserk6375 it’s getting overrated tbh
@@P2_grim2
Ok, Grimes, don't bring us all down just cuz your wife died.
@@Eye-Am-exclipse because it's good man, I mean no hate but it deserves every bit of praise it gets, It's got great animation, great artstyle, likable characters, great villains, funny moments, sad moments, references
In the last fight, the Spanish is death: ughh why are you messing with my meal/food" and Puss: yes, I'll see you when I die.
Everyone keeps calling death “The best villain!”. Now he is indeed a very well written character, I never considered him a villain. He’s literally death! Death isn’t biased, he’s a force of nature that balances out life. He dosen’t go after Puss for any vain or selfish reason, he does it because it’s his job. It’s Puss who abuses his 9 lives and disrespects the balance. If anything, without Death, Puss wouldn’t have his growth and cherish the people in his lives.
Exactly
Thank you
This guy gets it
he was clearly biased, that's why he let him live at the end.
@@dramasoldier8669
If Death was Biased, he would've killed Puss anyway
gotta love that you reuploaded it- i was trying to rewatch your reaction
What's crazy is the fact I just got done rewatching this movie a couple hours ago after seeing your first reaction video.
They're already up to their 4th Shrek, Shrek 5 is planned for 2026
I’d like to imagine since perrito is a therapy dog his path wasn’t really for him but for his friends stop and smell the roses was for puss but the River of relaxation was kitty forcing them to all bond on the boat and become closer
Fun fact the people who worked on the spider-verse worked. On this movie so that's why the animation looks the way it does.
22:38 I didn’t think he was either, this movie does a great job of subverting expectations. It seemed like it was hinting at the wolf not being a physical being, but then at the climax you pretty much find out he was haha
I don't think he was a physical being at all, you saw everyone on the map besides him for one thing. At the end I think they were all able to see and hear him because they were in a situation where death was possible for all of them.
@@KaneMarcks well he’s death but I meant that nobody would be able to see him because he was made up in puss in boots mind and just a figment of his imagination, but in the end he wasn’t. Kind of didn’t explain myself correctly.
@@KaneMarcks you don't see bakers and ethical bug on the map either
"Are they gonna do a Shrek 3?"
LMAO bro erased Shrek 3 & 4 from his memory.
I'm so happy you re-uploaded
Wolf being voiced by Pablo Escobar from Narcos still blows my mind
I just got back from this film; damn sublime. Brilliant reaction, guys. DEATH! Didn’t see him being so brill.
Fun Fact: Death is dubb by a brazilian actor call Wagner Moura
Most famous by being Pablo Escobar in Narcos
The animation was wonderful, the characters were wonderful, and the story was wonderful. They managed to make a film that kids would enjoy, but also had some very adult themes as well. They didn't dumb it down. Sure as hell Disney would never show the main character having a full on panic attack much less as accurate portrayal as that. They just threw down the gauntlet to every other animation studio, but also set the bar darn high for their next films. I hope they can keep it up.
Pause it at 3:21 or that scene in the crowd making a wave, you can actually spot death in the crowd, he was always been there before he was introduced in the movie.
I thought i saw this video earlier and planned on watching it, but when i got home it wasn’t there. Glad I’ll get to watch this now 😅
Death's voiced by Wagner Moura. He plays Pablo Escobar in Narcos. Worth to watch and Elite Squad 1 and 2 too. Heavy movies but really great
Death is based on the folkloric character of the Grim Reaper, whereas the tune he whistles is based on The Silbón, a legend associated with the Los Llanos region of Colombia and Venezuela.
Shrek’s already got 4 movies 😂
Fun fact: The voice actor for Death is a Brazilian actor
The voice is from Wagner Moura, he’s Brazzillian and played Pablo Escobar in Narcos. He’s a big deal here in Brasil with movies like Elite Squad, Opaió, Serra Pelada and other great productions
I’m glad this is up again because I love your guy’s reaction to it😁😁😁
Kung fu panda, How to train a dragon, and now puss in boots. Dreamworks is on fire🔥
I just saw the movie yesterday and came looking for this reaction, not missing my chance to watch it now
“Is that a hint that they’re going to make a shrek 3?” Sir. They already made 4
This movie had no right to be as fire as it was. Dreamworks went hard for no reason and I love it. Thanks for reuploading for us! Hopefully this doesn't get taken down again.
"you will always live a life of... Fear" CONSIDER MY TIMBERS SHIVERED
31:07 shrek three? We way past that bro
the voice actor of the wolf is wagner moura, a brazilian actor!
Nice reaction! You guys should react to The Mask of Zorro (1998), which stars Antonio Banderas, who plays Puss in Boots.
I love the speaking in Spanish blade 😺 26:49
At this Point this movie the best movie ever. The Plot, The Villain, And the Amination just Perfection 👌
You're the FIRST person to realize and point out that the Wolf doesn't show up on the map, love it.
Bakers and ethical bug also are not shown lol
