This movie was some unexpected GAS! EDIT: its actually hilarious I didnt know there was a Shrek 3 & 4…..when did this happen? Am I in an alternate universe? 😭
Fax
DreamWorks:we haven't been active for a while let's make the most banging movie ever
Puss In Boots? Nah, more like Peak in Boots
Definitely, I did not expect them to go this hard.
This movie was so funny 😂😂😂😂
This movie has officially cemented the fact that Dreamworks makes top notch villains. He just genuinely makes you feel scared for the protagonist’s party. And I love it. Also, the memes have been top notch as well lol
Yep
I mean, he's not scary just cool looking
Fr Kung fu Panda villains were the Shit
Have you all seen the tik tok where he’s talking and destroying the lives and each one is something Fortnite has gotten their hands on? Lol
@@reggielacey2235If not scary then for sure intimidating af
Puss in the forest having a full panic attack only to be calmed by one of the previously established side characters really hit me hard. That level of story telling in a movie like this is unheard of. This movie never treats its audience like children, despite being seemingly marketed for them. Very mature story telling with little to no hand holding.
That's by far my FAVORITE aspect of this movie. It's a quote on quote "kids" movie that actually takes itself seriously for once and by doing so, makes the audience so much more invested and engaged in what it's trying to say and show. Personally, I don't think there's a better feeling than seeing something you have low expectations for, something that you think will be full of stupid moments and immaturity, and to turn around and shock you with just how serious, dark, mature and introspective it really is. I love that conventional stereotypes for animated movies were kinda shattered here, and that's why this movie's one of my all time favorites.
Ong that scene made me tear up...the dog brought him down from the panic attack...
Personally, I think the best "kids films" actually don't talk down to kids. Rather, they convey a message or concept in a way that kids can grasp and perhaps think on.
This takes an underated amount of intelligence to pull off. Its what separates this film, from say the Smurfs live action film, which is the equivalent of sitting a kid down in front of a TV to watch static, it'll keep em occupied, but is ultimately pointless.
That's the problem. People always ASSUME animations are for children and marketed FOR children when it's mostly a FAMILY film. Which means anyone from any age has something to take away from it and something to enjoy. Something like coco melon or things like that are animations for kids. These movies? not at all, not just for kids from the start.
I think many kids would be scared of the wolf.
Death's quick rant in Spanish (¿POR QUE DIABLOS FUI A JUGAR CON MI COMIDA?!?) roughly translates into English "WHY THE HELL DID I PLAY WITH MY FOOD?!?", likely showing his disappointment in toying with Puss over the course of his journey instead of killing him when given the chance.
As Death said 'I just love the smell of fear, its intoxicating' . He constantly taunted Puss instead of just killing him when given the chance.
5:15 I like that NONE of the lives he lost was because he lost a fight. Like he said to the governor, “no blade has ever touched me” Puss died 8 times, but never got skewered by a sword
Especially the 8th one is a great introduction to the selfish attitude Puss learns to overcome. It was his antics that woke up the sleeping giant, and his unwillingless to move out of the spotlight and soak up more adoration from the people that caused him to move back to the spot where the bell crushed him 😂💀
Poker dogs? No blade but still a fight.
@@GenericDan "fight" lmao pretty sure the fight was just piss getting shredded by a gang of dogs lmao
This movie is simply spectacular. It has gorgeous animation, top notch fight choreography, great characters, a great arc for Puss, and one of if not the best DreamWorks antagonists ever. I like how, at the start, Puss was bragging about having "never been touched by a blade." So the moment Death was actually able to cut him, Puss became a scared, anxious mess. It's the moment he realized he's not invincible after all.
The kung fun panda villains were amazing too but the whole Shrek univer and KFP is so good DreamWorks when it comes to quality movies adults and young teens can watch is impressive wish Disney can learn to understand most of their audience has grown
@@Sleepys._. facts
Holy shit I did NOT expect for you to react to this movie, but I'm so glad you did. It slaps SO hard
I was hoping lupa would be in it....but its ok
I'm just here before their channel gets nuked from copyright
@@PistenDeer I’m over here wondering how they haven’t been already
This movie is actually RESPECTFUL to its audience and doesnt treat the audience like they're stupid. They dont do the whole "tell dont show" thing that have plagued a lot of animated movies over the last decade. The scene with Puss running into the forest having a panic attack and Perrito getting a chance to be the therapy dog he wanted to be was SUCH a good moment. The character acting was phenomenal, and they did such a good job showcasing what panic attacks like that can do to people and the process of calming down from one. What makes it so good though is that they don't spoonfeed you any of that information. Perrito doesn't go "wow, I get to be the therapy dog now!" It's simply just implied and forces the viewer to think more for themselves. Makes the plot way more memorable as a result since it "forces" the viewer to callback in their memory to that moment. It's absolutely criminal that this movie isn't doing better numbers in the box office.
I also like how perrito only ever mentions about being a therapy dog twice in the whole movie and both times being long before the panic attack scene
Meh, most audiences are stupid, though. I can see why some writers do that, because it's genuinely sad when you see some of the takes floating around on the internet. A lot of y'all dumb asf
@@amberlea7312 And it SHOWS that yes. He _IS_ a therapy dog.Not as a joke. It doesn't patronize anxiety. It doesn't mock Puss for being scared.
18:40 There is actually a theory that Kitty WAS there, otherwise she wouldn't have been so upset about him not being there, so she lied to try and try to make him feel better after she overhears him admitting how much he regrets doing that.
I actually love this theory and it's basically head canon for me. It just wouldn't make logical sense if Kitty hypocritically complained the whole time about Puss leaving her if she didn't show up either. Like, girl, you can't be talking sh*t and holding grudges for something you also committed. What if Puss DID show up and YOU weren't there? (Which would actually be an interesting as hell scenario to explore)
In that case, it’s possibly to do with how he (very clearly) didn’t respond to seeing her again the way a jilted lover would, while at the same time not trying to explain or excuse his action (or lack thereof).
Or, of course, she spotted him running away _while_ skipping out herself, and that cemented the doubt in her mind that he would _ever_ chill enough to just be with her instead of continuing his solo adventures.
@@alecLogan that's what I'd say as well
I mean i thought it was obvious?It’s not a theory it’s a fact lol
I'm pretty sure she was there at the church she just said that to make them feel better because why would she be so mad if she wasn't ever there how would she know that he never showed up if she wasn't there. It's not a theory it's a fact because she wouldn't know that he didn't show up if she wasn't inside
People keep calling Wolf(Death) a villain, but he's just a force of nature, neither good nor evil. He just doesn't like being mocked or cheated.
True, calling Death a villain (a.k.a bad guy) is like calling an earthquake or tornado a villain, yes he kinda petty for hunting a single cat specifically for mocking him and everything but, it's understandable and at the of the day he is still fair
He's an antagonist but not a villain
I think this is what makes him so terrifying
He is a villain
@@KenSahaja True he's an antagonist, you can create movies with no villains at all for example interstellar (which i haven't watched)
It’s kind of a shame that Lupa isn’t here, since his reactions to Death would’ve been hilarious, but the fact you’re reacting to it at all is more than enough for me, so I’ll take it
fr but hey this is definitely better than nothing!
Lupa: yeaaaaah?
He would be screaming 100%
Honestly their reactions to Death were a little underwhelming, mainly because they thought he was fake until the last minute lmao
Fun Fact:You can see the wolf in the crowd during the giant fight
And in the death cards
In my opinion Death is the best ANIMATED Villan (2022)
when death was speaking in spanish in the final fight he said "why the hell do i play with my food"
finding out this litreally makes death the strongest villain close to kai
'I was there to witness all of them.. each..Frivolous..End. but you did noticed me cause Puss in boots laughs in the face of death'.
Prove it
Honestly, my favourite part was Death. It's such a breath of fresh air to have a villain be an actual threat to the heroes, to have the villain traumatize and scar the heroes just by showing up, rather than have the heroes mock and prank them for the sake of comedy. It legit spooked me every time Death showed up, calmly whistling his tune as he stalked Puss.
I felt like Death was more an antagonist and Jack Horner was the villain
@@PhatBoySteven True Death himself isn't evil like jack, but he demands your respect
@@PhatBoySteven I would’ve liked to see Death aka The big bad wolf interact or fight or scare the other ppl going for the map
@@wingman5100 i get it was a personal journey kind of thing for puss but ur right Horner vs death wouldve been pure entertainment lol
@@PhatBoySteven It would have been short. I mean, that's DEATH. Puss only made it to the end of the movie because Death wanted to terrify him.
I went into this movie thinking “this will just be fun to watch” and found myself invested like crazy
I love how they took 3 tropes of villains and made them separate. Blowing Disney’s recent villains out of the water in comparison
You've got Goldi and the Bears for sympathetic villains, Death as a sort of neutral force, and Jack Horner as a complete irredeemable asshole. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
@@eijirohiroshima2949 Honestly I find you quoting a disney villian at the end of the sentence is ironic lol, like nobody reaeeally cares that disney villians aren't great, although to be fair Thanos was
Kratos: Death can have me when it earns me.
Death Wolf 🐺: Hello there.
That fight will be epic...
@@pyroblast3000 Kratos would win pretty easily tho. Lobo can only beat someone if they fear their own mortality. Kratos can't kill Death but because he doesn't fear it, Lobo will just get his ass beat until he peaces out or wouldn''t even fight in the first place. Lobo would smash Odin tho who fears death
@@pyroblast3000 That wouldn't even be a fight lmao Kratos would destroy him, especially young Kratos
I think Kratos will meet the Egyptian God Anubis
I sure love when characters speak another language and the subtitles just say "Speaks in spanish" lmao
as a Puerto Rican, it was driving me crazy. I'm so glad my copy has actual subtitles haha.
The look in Puss' eyes when fighting the Wolf went from "I don't want to die" to "I want to live". I loved how the Wolf actually was there in the beginning, in the background of the fight with the giant, like in the crowd. Also, love the message of how stupidly rich businessmen are selfish, irredeemable, human pieces of garbage. Very based. I also remember hearing that the director of this is going to be directing Kung Fu Panda 4, so I'm even more hyped.
He was?!? 😳
@@l.aliban5122 Yep, go back and watch the giant part, specifically when Puss is running across the rooftops and the crowd is cheering and throwing their arms up in a “Mexican Wave” motion. The wolf is in the back just watching.
@@l.aliban5122 Yeah, I think he's in like a doorway or something, and later on in the sequence blending in with the crowd. It's not like how the first movie just did flashback scenes, but just put Humpty Dumpty there even though the first watch, he clearly wasn't.
Mr. Death-Wolf was also in the corners of the numbered death cards
Puss laughing in the face of death at the beginning of the movie because he thinks he'll never die and has no care for his life Vs Him laughing in the face of death and fighting like a fearless hero even after he understands he's on his last life is 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾 this movie was peak from start to finish
DreamWorks has improved a lot in their animation ever since "The Bad Guys". "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" getting that same treatment was seriously needed for everyone. As far as anything, this is a good sign for DreamWorks of their future movies.
I really hope Dreamworks capitalizes on this and Disney deciding to go full Dumbass these days. They really do have the chance to completely supplant Disney in the animation market if the play their cards right... which would be kinda poetic since Dreamworks was basically founded as an F You to Disney in the first place
@@DelightfullyMADD well now that bob Eiger is back to the studio. Disney will be back like immediately, putting soul, turning red on D+ is just dumbass
Puss in Boots: Last Wish does the story of a legend coming to terms with morality really well
so, fun fact, the wolf is voiced by Wagner Moura, a brazilian actor most well know from his roles in the "elite squad" movies, two brazilian movies about the leader of a special forces unit in the brazil military, whose symbol is a skull. so theme of death fits doublely well for the character.
it's cool how they hinted at wolf being Death since his first appearance and kept dropping hints: he's as fast or as slow as he wants to be, which is how Death always works- you either go fast or slow. the coins over his eyes, and that he showed up during the fights AFTER someone died: the Midas Touch and the Confetti Massacre. and to prove he's the actual incarnation and not some guy saying he is: he walks through a barrier we saw disintegrate a person, and not even a singe on the cloak
And he was able to show up when the last baker was dissolved in the wall on the wishing star, for that last time.
Death was totally not overhyped. Such a great great villain. The anxiety tackling. The dog I thought would be corny but is awesome. Literally wouldn't change one thing.
That wolf is probably one of the best villains of 2022. He's seems more like a god butcher than the actual god butcher we got
Imagine your just chilling and you hear that whistle and its the grim reaper taking his time to find you
Absolutely stunning movie. From the villains to the heros, to the visuals and the jokes. It portrayed anxiety and growth PERFECTLY. And don't get me started on the choreography 🤤
In the final fight with Death there was straight up 'anime lines' when they were rushing at each other 🤣
This movie truly deserves to be seen in theaters.
I did not expect this movie to go this hard. The story and animation was great but best part were the scenes with Death.
I love how death says in the bar that “no has escaped him yet.” It’s little things like that, that make me love this movie
Death gave me CHILLS!! Like the way he was introduced and how they showed him as a character has a lot of meaning if you look deep enough.
Puss never appreciated and valued the lives he had, To be granted these 9 lives is such a blessing, And Death felt that puss didnt deserve these lives, So he brought him down to one life, He was there for each and every death, And finally when he showed up to Puss, He was trying to get puss to learn his life isnt a joke, Evenin the crowd when puss fought the giant you can see Death in the crowd near the alley, He was there all along. Man he was such a good character
And all the others too, Well jack not so much but i also loved golidlocks's wish, To have a real family, To live a perfect life. When she realised she already had that life.
And puss wanting to get his lives back, But then realizing he needs only one, One life to appreciate the things he never did, One life to live it to the fullest, And this movie actually taught a valuable lesson, That you only have one life, And that you should do the most with that life
This movie is beyond phenomenal, the animation is top notch, the story is mature, and the characters are utilized amazingly in the story, this is definitely in the top Dreamworks movies for me, 10/10 just an all around phenomenal movie ❤️
Low key, my favorite part of the movie is Puss and Kitty's reactions to Perrito's backstory.
The crazy part is, this movie was actually hella good😂😂🔥
Need Shrek 5! Im sure all the voice actors would love to come back
We already have Shrek 4.
You mean Shrek 5
@@bubbee9382 we don't acknowledge the 3rd
@@MrXaniss the 3rd one isn’t cannon you can easily skip it and you will not really miss anything.
@@MrXaniss yes we do
I'm Brazilian and I love your channel!! I wanted to comment that the voice actor in English for Big Bad Wolf is also Brazilian which made me love this character even more, his name is Wagner Moura
Death is Voiced by a Brazilian actor named Wagner Moura, he worked in some Hollywood movies and series like Elysium or Narcos, he's also now by his role as Capitain Nascimento on Tropa de Elite
Not even mappa or Ufotable have a budget like this, whoever animated this movie were on drugs 😂😂
So standard 3d is the best in the us i see thats why their animation always shit
Well yeah Dreamworks is like triple the size of both combined
bruh this is a whole ass movie studio of course they have more budget
With huge ass budgets and competent writing teams, Western animation is taking over. Arcane, Puss in Boots 2, and Spiderverse are flat out masterpieces
The best part about this movie is the writing.
Like nothing feels to outlandish or "why are they acting like that?"
It's perfect
This was such a fantastic movie and I love how great the wolf was. I like how he's a character based on nature, and the whistle that he has is such a nice touch to signal that he is nearby. Perrito was also such a cute character for the movie. His positive vibe no matter how bad the situation was so funny and wholesome
I don't usually watch movie's reactions, but oh boy I wanna see this one
Death is was one of DreamWorks best antagonist, dude was intimidating right from the start.
After watching this movie, it officially became one of my top ten movies
Love the pfp 😂
I went with 0 expectations and got blown away by the movie. Easy 10/10
Go see this is theaters if you still can! Hearing Death's whistle (get the reference they were making?) so loud and getting the full effect of the sound design is incredible
also this is exactly the type of animated movie I would expect to come out after spiderverse
Wagner Moura did an imaculate job as Death, props to the same man that made Captain Nascimento
This movie had no reason to go as hard as it did but I love it so damn much
I haven't even started the video yet, and I can already tell you guys'll LOVE the wolf's Black Air Force energy
The jokes in this movie were pure comedy gold! 😂
literally for the midas touch
Just a quick heads up! Be careful because reactions to this movie have been taken down left and right! But I've been looking forward to this for the longest time! Love you guys so much!!!!
Goldilocks.
That's the tweet.
Her story was so heartwarming.
The entire movie was , but her part specifically hits me hard
I watched this movie JUST for Death. This interpretation was so cool. Also I loved the stylistic choice to drop the frame rate to 12fps to signal to the audience that some real shit is happening
I love how Jack has to add the "what specifically" at the end when he asks what he did wrong lol. Genuinely one of the best characters in Dreamworks history
I’m so glad y’all are watching this. This movie was top tier
Never expected this reaction or anyone to hype it up man shittt, that both hilarious and entertaining asf. I hope they animate this the same for the up and coming movies. And om, why was Death actually terrifying, that gave me the creeps and awesome for the story of his last life.
LOVED this movie, so happy to see you guys reacting to it! Unexpectedly hilarious, and heartbreaking too. And it has one hell of a villain :)
this movie was simply amazing, the art was out of this world and puss’ panic attack was so well protrayed. i would recommend this to everyone and would def watch this again and again
this movie did not have to be so fire😭
This movie had NO right going as hard as it did 🔥
I wasn’t expecting this! Btw for those that have seen this movie. Dreamworks just knows how to make our childhood villains cold asf
this movie was fire never expexcted it to be this good
I've already seen this movie 4 times in theaters, it is that good.
I truly recommend anyone/everyone to see this movie in theaters. *It is worth it.*
YOOOOOOO I never thought you guys would react to this but man am I glad you did! This movie slaps and honestly needs more attention
Favorite movie of 2022 was puss in boots the last wish, not only cus it was beyond good, but also it was our 2 year olds first movie theater viewing, and he absolutely loved it! 😅 definitely a memorable momment❤
If you expect nothing you will not get dissapointed
But if you expect nothing on this movie you will be blown away
I'm honestly having a hard time deciding which of DreamWorks villains are my favorites.
Lord Shen, Tai Lung, Titan, or Death.
Yo I really would never expect you guys to react to puss in boots
Dreamworks is back! Man they were my childhood and my favorite character out of all of them was Puss in boots, I absolutely loved everything about this movie 10/10 movie
New favorite movie. Great message of the film is to cherish life and live it to the fullest. Which is the agenda of the Wolf(Death) death himself finding puss’ carelessness as arrogant. However towards the end he sees Puss has changed his act and learned to now value his only one life now. Now gaining his respect the next time they’ll meet it’ll be as friends when Puss really dies
YESSSSS Thank you, I've been waiting long for this. Although I wish all three of you could have watched it together. It would've been a blast.
The wolf was way to goated
FUN FACT: If you rewatch the scene where puss is fighting the Giant, and pause it on the part where they show the crowd cheering (Before puss slays the monster), you'll see Death in the background watchinng the fight. It's a nice easter egg and a nice call back to Death saying that he was there for every moment Puss died.
Loved that movie so much. So glad I got to see you guys react to it, you guys are my favorite.
roshi not knowing shrek already has 4 movies is so funny
Roshi really said "is that Shrek 3?"
Bro this would be Shrek 5
This is the first time i've been scared of villains in cartoon since i was a kid for sure, death whistle so scary & feels like something chasing you for your whole life.
first time in the channel and I’ve never seen such a long intro literally had my favorite one piece character and my favorite titan
If you look closely at the beginning when the crowd were cheering for puss when he was fighting the giant you can see death at the back.
Also, when Death came when Puss was fighting Jake, if you look at the background of death it looks like a skull.
P.S I just couldn’t wait to let you guys know
time stamp pls?
@@zynxwrldure so in the movie the first part to see death was in 07:07, you can see it there and the second one about the skull is 55:32
To see the skull in this reaction is 16:31
It’s actually been a while since Dreamworks Animation released any movies such as Shrek and Puss in Boots. But I’m glad that we got to see Puss In Boots back in action. And just wondering, will you guys be watching and reacting to Wakanda Forever sometime soon?
18:32 I think it is cap for a few reasons
Kitty wouldn't know if Puss didn't show up if she wasn't there
She was pretty mad at him and didn't trust him at all because of him leaving
This would explain her big trust issues as well. If she didn't go, her story wouldn't make sense
I haven’t watched a video from this channel in a minute. The animation on the intro is amazing!
Never thought y’all would react to puss in boots 😂😂😂 Haven’t seen this movie yet But I already know this gonna be a good reaction ❤❤
this movie was fire!!! glad yall are reacting to this :)
When Puss said 'pick it up' back to Death is so badass
About the animation and art style, according to Wikipedia:
"The inspiration for the film's animation style came from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Akira, giving it a visual style that resembles storybook illustrations. Rather than utilize the more realistic style introduced in Shrek, the team focused more on a painterly style design, to make the film look like a fairy-tale world by using new technology."
And that inspiration frrom Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse might have come from Bob Persichetti, one of the three directors of Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse, who was directing this movie, until he was replace.
My brainrot is solely JoJo Stone Ocean & this movie now lately. Would not have it any other way
As such, I am very pleased to see 1:23 Jolyne-Sheera followed right after by Death-Wolf. Goats Goats GOATS
HECK YEAH!!! This is what I miss from Dreamworks and they deliver it perfectly this time (and very unexpectedly). Thank you Dreamworks🙏 I just hope many people see this and started watching it too so Dreamworks realized it and make animated movies great again (in pixar and dreamworks wise ofc, cus sony is still killing it with miles spiderverse).
Yo you guys put this up while I was watching the movie!! what perfect timing!!
I really regret not seeing this in theaters
Loved this movie when I seen it 🔥🔥🔥
The Human Bridge scene is a key moment in pop culture and it's only DreamWorks that could have pulled it off as it is in it's gloriousness
22:06 The VA of Death is Wagner Moura, who plays Pablo Escobar on Narcos
I'm not even a fan of the Shrek movies, and I went twice to watch this movie in theaters because it absolutely blew me away. Not that I think it would win against the upcoming Across the Spider-verse film, but I'm glad to see other movies giving it fair competition. More of this please!
Hell yeah I'm so glad you guys reacted to this, I was hoping you would
NGL, did NOT expect this reaction. Pleasantly surprised, glad y’all did it!
So happy you guys did this reaction you guys always put a smile on my face while I watch all your reactions ❤
Deaths voice actor…..🥶🥶 chills
Here’s a neat detail for anyone who’s watched the movie, so spoilers…
Death says he was there to witness every of Puss’ deaths. During the fight with the giant, as the crowd makes a wave to cheer Puss on, you can see Death standing in the alley behind the crowd watching with contempt.
Death’s silhouette also appears in the corners of the numbered “death cards” that appear every time Puss recalls one of his deaths to the doctor.
Yoooo this movie is so dope, thank you guys for reacting to it
Until Across the Spiderverse comes out, this is definitely the best animated movie of the last 2, maybe 3 years
Would have loved to see Lupa-sans reaction to Death though
Was so hoping you guys would cover this, NOT disappointed.
