I sold my 17 identical to this one- had it pretty decked out for overlanding: rhino pioneer rack over cab/bed rack from Cali-raised/ bfgko2 tires- added firestone airbags for the tent and accessories weight/ rock sliders....tons of other mods........13-15 mpg great trucks and huge aftermarket support...just be prepared for the same mpg as you’d get in a 10k 80 or 100 series land cruiser or gx470 with the 4.7 V8. Which is why I sold it. My 99cruiser 4 speed doesn’t constantly downshift every time I go up a tiny hill or there’s a slight breeze.

That is a good price. I was looking at those yesterday for my wife. She wants a limited but there just as much as what i paid for a Tahoe and doesnt have a 3rd row of seats.
After a ton of research it lead us to the Tacoma TRD off-road. After driving it however it lead us away to the Colorado ZR2. The Toyota is a good looking truck but the Chevy surprisingly felt more powerful and solid.
Hopefully you don’t run into the transmission issues like me and many others have with your Colorado. I’m going to get rid of my rado and go with a 20 taco most likely.
Went from an 05 PreRunner. To what I thought was going to be 19Taco Off-road. Ended up going with an 18 ZR2 Duramax W/6speed (8 speed not available in the oil burner... for good reason) Got a better deal then the taco and better warranty.

Couple of things to Note- Bed Cleats are Free, or Rather - part of the Truck!! Check your window sticker for the Floor mats, they are an option. and lastly, i got 4850 off my SR5, 32k sticker, So , son, you will live and learn. Not a Bad deal, all in all though. I’m looking at a 2020 SR doublecab 4cyl. I would really like the 6cyl 4x4 SR, but it’s a bit out of my price range. Should I pay more and get it or is the 4cyl 4x2 good? I don’t own a trailer, and don’t haul much. I still want my first pick up though.

For the most part, you cannot negotiate accessories if they are on the window sticker. If they are not, you can get them to take them out if there was no labor involved to install them. These are general rules, dealers do crazy sh.it sometimes. Any dealer added package should be considered as taking away from the discount (low-jack, sealants, etc) as they cost the dealerships almost nothing compared to what they charge. MSRP 39k, sell for $36k but add $1,200 in dealer sh.it, = $1,800 off sticker
I thought bed cleats were included standard on the Tacoma, at least this gen, anyway. I bought my 2017 SR5 used but based on research I did I think all trims included them.
I have no complaints about the motor itself, it packs enough punch for what I do. My opinion could change if I ever need to tow something large or if I'm hauling 4 people around all the time.

Noah Rane it does look awkward, but for this 50+ y/o dude, i wish i could just sleep in the bed with my softopper. I had to buy the DAC camper top tent attachment to enable me to sleep in the bed with the tailgate down.
what? it's the button near the rear-view mirror with the axle image on it. only used off roading at slow speeds. the wheels need to rotate at different speeds when making turns on regular roads or you will destroy the diff and more
You can eliminate alot of road noise, if that bothers u, by installing sound deading like dynamat. Works great. I did it when I upgraded the speakers in mine. Doors feel more solid when closed as well like a luxury type vehicle.
Ford Ranger has dominated every Test Against Toyota Tacoma on youtube,.....Towing, Braking, Acceleration, Interior Comfort and quality and yes off roading. Ford Ranger is a better more refined truck.

Predator side steps, mud flaps, wheel locks, 2 sets of OEM floor mats (we could not find them in the truck and they sent me 2 sets) All weather floor mats front and back, tinted windows, 2 sets of tie down cleats. Mine is a 6 speed manual. Enjoy your truck!
You might grow fond of the sidesteps if they keep the women at Walmart and the grocery store parking lots from flinging their suv doors open into your nice clean doors..

Depends on what you're trying to do with it, and where you live. In CO 4x4 is a must for the snow. Just depends on your needs.
