I like those mods as I’ll probably purchase a couple of them for sure when I buy my Tacoma. Thanks for sharing Rich. 👏
Awesome - glad to help!
My worlds just unexpectedly collided. I followed your Axial yeti build and built mine up in much the same fashion. Now I click on this looking for some Tacoma inspired content, and hear a wonderfully familiar voice. Hope all is well, and +1 subscriber.
Hey Garrett - wow, small world! Yeah, I stopped doing RC in about 2021 (Although I made a comeback last October for Tekno's new SCT410 2.0). I just don't get enjoyment out of RC anymore.
My Garmin camera kept overheating so I upgraded to the next one up and have had no issues. the Dongar dongel made installation a dream!!!
Good info. I haven’t had an issue with mine so far. Even in the SoCal heat this summer.
@@tacomanetwork Make's since I'm using heat for Minnesota snow and your always using A/C.
i love the mods. just got a Tacoma last week, i will for sure be using these mods, thanks!
Nice! Tacomas are great to customize - lots of options out there. Thanks for stopping by!
Dude I’ve been subscribed to the RC network forever and had know idea you have a Tacoma channel… Nice!….👍
No way! Thanks for stumbling across my new channel - I should have some new videos coming in late January
My 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed has the Premium and Technology pkgs.
I’ve done a few mods and have a lot more to go before it’s completed, but I plan on driving it until I can no longer drive or I’m dead
Nice! I have a '22 - you've got the last good year of Tacomas IMO
@@tacomanetwork I think so too
You should replace the tweeters with the Subaru Kicker tweeter upgrade. Makes a huge difference in sound quality.
I actually did. I did the Kicker doors and the Subaru Kicker Tweeter a bit after. It seemed a bit better, but I think the best bang for the buck was the 6x9 fronts.
@@tacomanetwork I also replaced all my speakers with Kicker KS Series speakers along with the front tweeters and powered them with a Kicker Key 2.0 or 50 watts x 4 and added a Kicker Hideaway 8-inch sub-woofer at 150 watts behind the passengers side rear seat back. Sound deadened all the doors and the audio system now rocks.
@@KstxrdNice! My next step is to power all six speakers with an amp and add on a sub with amp.
@@tacomanetwork check out the Kicker Key 2.0. It is smaller than a brick, mounts behind the radio and is 50 watts x 4. Your tweeters receive their power from the front door speakers, so 50 x 4 is all you need. Normal listening level is now 4 to 6 on the radio. You will need to sound deaden the doors or they will buzz like crazy at mid to high listening levels. The Kicker Hideaway sub comes with its own 150-watt amp, is easy to install behind a rear seat back and gives moderate yet discernible bass presents. It will not boom out your ride though.
Nice video my kids just told me that you're nearby in OC, You are over there by the district since I grew up in Tustin you cant miss that helicopter hanger in the background.
Thanks! Yeah, I film some of my intros by my business over by the District in Tustin. Always a cool backdrop!
Nicely done, will be checking out the others
Thanks!
i can only find a pink version of the carlinkit mini 3.0, where did you get white? Great video btw
Weird...I have a link in the video description to the one I have
Thanks for the video. Nice to see some stuff other than the standard console trays & glovebox organizers. I've had a Scosche magnetic mount set up identically to your Peak Design on my Tacoma for a few years now. I do like that Peak Design mount, in conjunction with their case though. Does it hold tight enough to not fall off during light off-roading? That was the issue I ran into before getting the Scosche setup. I tried a magsafe charging mount, but the phone would slip off of it just driving down a dirt road.
Yes, even off roading, it holds tough - even with my new iPhone 15 Pro Max. The key is their case - it's the strongest magnets I've seen and they improved them even more for the 15 series. My apple MagSafe wallet is hard to pry from it now!
@@tacomanetwork Thanks for the reply. I will most likely try this setup out when I upgrade to a new phone later this year.
You'll like it.
@@tacomanetwork Just upgraded to a 15 Pro Max last week and just got my Peak Designs wireless charging mount, along with their Nomad case for it. Everything works amazing!
@@bluecreekroad Nice! Same phone I have. My wife used my truck the other day and said "Why don't I have one of these mounts in my car??"
Thanks for this man! Got the 2021 trd pro lunar rock and love it!
Nice! I really wanted the Pro....but with all of the demand and markups, I couldn't justify almost $20K more for the pro over the TRD OR
@@tacomanetwork I totally get it. I happened to get a pretty decent deal on it. I got one with 20k miles, roof rack, bed cover, console safe, paint protection, and a metal bed separator (don’t know what you call it lol). I got it for $50k out of Dallas Texas.
My exact Taco. I love it!
Nice! Just got back from a 1,000 mile road trip this weekend. It was amazing!
I do like the radio knobs upgrade. Can you share where you got those from?
They're solid! I have a link in the video description directly to TacoMods
How in the world are you getting nearly 400 miles per tank? That is so much more than mine and others I have seen. Most get maybe 340. How do you get that extra bit?
😂😂🤣that image was when I drove it off the lot. Even today with all stock suspension/wheels/tires and just a tune for performance, I get maybe 275 with mixed driving on the supposed tank calculator. In actuality, I usually get between 300-320 based on about 17mpg. Longer trips on highways, I have gotten up to 22mpg, so if you calculate it out, it’s about 400miles per tank
Dude.....what a list. Awesome thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Wow. My usb port on my phone is broken, but the phone is still awesome so i dont want to upgrade it. Had no idea there was a wireless way to do the android auto. THANK YOU!!
Yep, glad to help!
Missing the seat jackets! Much more comfortable seating position!
Oh, they're installed...and will be on the Interior Upgrades Part 2 😁
Love your mods. Thanks for posting
Thanks for stopping by!
These are different mods but got some contradiction re the knobs; said 20-23 at top in bold but below in their ad stated 20-22. I think those would look great in my Taco!
Good catch - they likely have not updated thier site for the 2023's. I bought these in 2022 for my 2022
@@tacomanetwork but if you visit the link it says 23, but then lower says 22 so hopefully they’re gonna get that straight!!
I manage ecommerce sites as my 8-5....I 100% bet they missed updating that to 2023. I miss things like that all the time! lol

Hows the carplay connection? No skipping or sound issues?
Its pretty solid - the only issues I've had: 1. One out of every 30 times it connects, it doesn't read the USB device. Simply re-plugging it fixes that. 2. Only when streaming video content (like watching YT while parked) the audio is delayed. As for sound, it's solid. No issues with skipping, or sound issues. I've noticed that Apple Music sounds better than Spotify - meaning same song. It seems like the Apple Music file is better quality. This is all from streaming too.
Very well done. Sick mods
Thanks buddy!
Would ScreenProtech still fit around the better radio knobs?
Yeah, I don't see why not...especially of you have to remove the knobs before you put the protector on. If you left the knobs, these regular versions are the same diameter as the stock ones
with carplay do you need it since you have bluetooth?
Well, the device allows our 3rd gen (2020-2023) vehicles with wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to connect wirelessly. My phone is always connected via blue tooth, but with this device, I have full connectivity via the Tacoma Screen for Spotify, Google Maps, Podcasts, etc
Great video. Keep it up. Subscribed! I have a 2023 SR5.
Thanks buddy! Nice truck!
smash the like button lets go wheeling!
😂 soon, soon.
Too bad the carlinkit does not come in black.
Paint it black
This can easily be done...
The Apple version is white, android is shaped differently and it black.....
I see that there are other versions of the Carlinkit that are black, just curious: is this still the best model for the newer Tacomas & if so why? Thanks, great content!
@@greenspiral15When I bought mine (Oct 2022) it was the best model from them - as far as I know, the Apple version was that airpod sized case and in white. The Android version was Black and a weird hexagonal shape. Things might be totally different now though. Mine works pretty well - maybe every 20th time I get in the truck it won't connect, but it's a matter of just unplugging it and replugging it and it's good to go
how's that carlink now that you've had it more than a month? Any issues?
I ordered the Rav4 radio knob, it's a fatter and is back lit. Wish I would have seen these knobs first.
I've had the Carlinkit since October 2022....so about a year now. It's pretty good. I probably doesn't connect maybe one out of 20 times...but then you just unplug and replug and it connects.
“No more finding your phone, plugging it in” “also the next upgrade is an item where you have to pull out your phone!”
Thanks for watching
yay more stuff to buy! :D
Sorry, buddy. More videos coming too!
@@tacomanetwork I ain’t complaining lol
Rich, how is the connectivity with the Carlinkit for the apple play? Do you have a lot of interruptions or is it pretty stable?
It’s 100% stable. I only experience issues maybe every 20-30 times when it just doesn’t connect…..but simply unplugging and replugging fixes that
@@tacomanetwork Thanks for the feed back. This unit is pretty solid compared to others out there on the market. 😊
Yeah, no complaints here after almost 1.5 years using it now
@@tacomanetwork nice 😊
Rich, after reviewing the Garmin mini dash cam, some of the people said it is garbage or has mixed reviews on it. Has it given you any issues since you’ve owned it? How long have you had yours for now? I am looking to pick up a dash cam now so I thought I would ask you before I purchase one. Thanks ..
Any promo code discounts for taco mods
Nothing I know of - it's a small mom/pop shop
Are you in OC? I think your background is by Tustin ...
Yep, I work near the Tustin Hangar (It's sad that it's now singular since the north hangar burnt to the ground.
How do u have 375 on the tank mine wont go past 265
That was brand new off the dealer lot. I get 277 at best right now for 50/50 mixed driving. I have gotten 350 before, but that was on a road trip after filing up 3-4 times
@tacomanetwork I rrly try to get it to that 350 but it just won't ever reach there im so pissed off ngl might upgrade the tank to 650 ngl
I have heard that if you unplug your battery (remove the negative) for 15 minutes, it will reset your mileage average. Not that it will help in the longterm though. I really hate the way it figures out tank mileage. I usually get about 300-315 on a tank without going into the 2+ gallon reserve. In otherwords, when I fill up on "E", I have 315 on the trip odometer. Once I fill up, it will say "276" miles to empty. Really? I just got 315! Then, once I start driving it will start correcting until the trip odometer + till Empty is once again about 300-315 miles. I'm still 100% stock suspension/wheels/tires and just the OTT tune
👍🏼
