Nagal's story is amazing! Lost entire last year to injury and catching up from drop to 500+ rank and his bank balance dropping to 900 euros. Hopefully 2024 will be his year!
❤
Victory belongs to those who persevere
Bro chill he won a few tournaments and made sub-150s last year, considering his story I’d say this is such a great redemption arc 🙌
Hopefully he can advance another round and secure his financial situation for good!
@@eduardochernia Nadal has always been a champion. Sad to know he is going through a financial crunch. Hope Nadal wins the tournament beating Djokovic
I love how much pride Nagal's fellow countrymen showed when he won points. That's one of the greatest support one needs.
As I know there many Indians in Australia kindly requesting to all Indians to support and cheer him in round 2... congratulations nagal...👍
Nagal i have been watching you since 2 years and know that you have come a long way. Cmon you can go all the way.🔥🔥🔥Lets Goooooooooooooooo
Great performanceNagal. So proud of you. Bringing indian tennis to high standards. I am sri lankan and cheer you all the way as you make us Asians so proud in the Tennis arena 🎉
Defeating top 30 seed isn't everyone's cup of tea.... Champ nagal🎉🎉...
In straight set
@@raunakkeshari3964 Thats the crazy part. In straight sets.
Bublik is #31 though 😆, but I get your point

You’ve made the nation proud @sumitnagal!❤️
Most of nation doesn't even know about that. And WTF is with this 'Proud Moment' for every miniscule achievement. For the godsake , we are nation with 1.4 billion people , not Bhutan where people should feel proud for even qualifying into 2nd round. Ye dumb Indians aur inke proud moment khatam kaahe nahi hote 🤣🤣

😂😂😂😂😂@@rawat2608
@@rawat2608 I am sure. But just so that you know, Sumit Nagal has been playing tennis 2005. I wonder where Modi came into the picture though.

Great victory and hopefully settles his nerves. Hoping to see a stronger round 2 victory .. anyways kudos 👏 🎉
Fantastic win nagal ! I have been watching this lad since he played against Roger in USA onen . One promising latent Indian ever produced after greatest legends like Leander and bhuparhi . Keep going !!
Made us proud Sumit🔥👏🏻Amazing level of tennis on display to take out the 31st seed..All the very best for the rest of the tournament and excited for the possible 3rd round clash with Alcaraz
It’s not easy to become a tennis player when an entire nation focuses on cricket. Respect!
That is true.
But it's easy as most people play cricket, there will be fewer players to compete.
The nation focuses on cricket because it's the only sport that India competes well in.
If India had talents like Djokovic and Federer who consistently won grand slams for the nation, Tennis would be a much bigger sport in India and many many more people would follow it and play it. Especially young kids who would be inspired to take up the sport.
@@BIBECHYOUTUification Really? Have you seen how many players go to get coached in tennis in India? Delhi alone would have over 100 training tennis academies with 50-100 trainees. There are dozens of cities like that. Competition is fierce.
Why does cricket get dragged into this? BCCI makes its own money and they are free to do whatever they want with it.
Plus they fund other sports quite heavily. Like a CSR of sorts. Please read up about it.
His next match against a Chinese player named Juncheng Shang.. i think for the first time, ind Vs china battle in AO history.. I'm looking forward to it.. and on top of that.. if he manages to win against Chinese player, then his next match against carlitosss Alcaraz.. and it would be in the lod lever arena.. come on, india... it's time to show up the world 🤩🤩
Rod Laver bro.

Great performance by Sumit Nagal ❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳
Great win by Nadal. Hope he wins the tournament
😂😂😂
Go Sumit ❤ whole India with you ❤
Keep going Sumit.. wan to see you in winning and compete with our Indians favorite Novak some day… hopefully soon!!!
I just read that Nagal had around 80k Indian rupees in his account last year, that is less than 1000 $. Hope he wins more games, gets some decent sponsors and manages to survive in this tough field.
With the era of NADAL nearing to an end, there arises a promising NAGAL, bringing India to the fore in the Tennis world. Keep up the good job
Sumit. Great performance today.
You can't compare Nadal with Ngala bro. Come on.
@@softtech2295 I'm not.... And I would dare not. Also, Nadal's achievements aren't shy of threats from an unseeded player.
Appreciate the good work of Nagal today but don’t bring legends of the game to comparison on first round win and make Indians look like jokers Infront of world.
@@Vikramhegde89 Exactly.
He has a better future than Nadal. Nadal at this age was like 1% of Nagal.
Congratulations sumit nagal. I even watches your 1R matches earlier and was sure one day you will succeed . You play like a pro strong player keep going all the very best ❤
Nagals game is amazing and surprising always
I must say haryana has a great sporting culture they are in every sport man great...wish our gujarat players also come forward in sports 😢
Start eating healthy food first...

Nagal! Superstar! 😮🎉👏👏👏👏💪 Quando le MOTIVAZIONI aiutano a superare ciò che sembra impossibile!
What a come back! All the best for 2nd round.
Bad day at the office for Bubbles. He's got to become more dedicated to the sport if he wants to avoid blowouts at the Slams. If you watched WTL in December, then Nagal's performance here would be of little surprise. He carried that good form into AO & got the straight sets win over an opponent who expected an easy victory. Despite major pushback in the 3rd leading to a TB, Summit remained on top.
come on buddy make India and Sub continent proud supporting you from Pakistan
you got this
What a Game Nagal! The Forehand shots are amazing and what a Shots! More Power to you in the coming rounds
Great achievement sumit nagal congratulations 🎊 🇮🇳💪
really unexpected, good stuff for nagal. coming back from injury like a champ
Finally! Been waiting so long for Nagal to win on the big stage (ever since his first-set win against Federer). Especially great to see he made it against Bublik. It seems Nagal started nervous but seemed more confident and fresh while Bublik was reeling. Was it the heat maybe?
Great job taking out a seeded opponent in first round. Stay grounded focused and look to the next match. Last man standing wins it all. Money and success will follow. Laser focus and determination is the key. Good luck!
Well played Sumit. Now just has to back it up with another win.
We indians can never get enough😂
nevertheless, i also want another win😉
@@Ross__Bossif he wins another match he plays alcaraz in round 3
Winning the next round would be good. He is suffering from lack of sufficient funds. Also, it is against a Chinese player.@@Ross__Boss
@@Fraudkovic Even if he reaches there, its gonna be huge for him. The chinese player that he's playing against next is almost equally rated and had a close previous game. If he plays his cards right, he might win the next round too. The Alcaraz game is gonna be very tough to win nevertheless.
@@Ross__Boss yes ofcourse he'll get to play at rod laver arena and get more name recognition plus sponsors etc
5:27 I love the reaction from Sasha !
Bublic with his underhanded serve. What a nimrod, it did not even look like he was trying the 1st two sets.
Excellent Sumit ..Way to go!!

Congratulations Sumit nagal on winning historic match 🇮🇳❤️💐
The best Singles Talent for india in decades 🎉🎉🎉
As an Indian, the more I watch this, I cant help but feel that Bublik defeated Bublik and Nagal just got lucky.
SO YOU DONT GIVE CREDIT TO WINNER .. COMMON. GIVE THE DEVIL HIS DUE AS THESAYING GOES .
Great performance Sumit 👏
Goosebumps !!! Nation is proud Sumit
😂😂😂
this is a devastating loss for bublik. What an upset. Well done Sumit.
What a Game my Brother, Keep Going 🖤
so proud of nagal i loved him at the US open. I wonder where he was?
Sumit ,you fought it non stop, and with strong energy you beat him, congrats to both.
Getting to know Sumit’s story is so inspiring. He beat a top 30 player and literally had nothing in his bank account a while ago. We should celebrate this win for sure but most importantly the government and the big corporate elite of our country should take notice and back such talent with sponsorships and they must be given everything to take our country to great heights.
Kudos Sumit ❤
Nagal❤🇮🇳
Congrats Nagal, amazing brother. Best of luck for the round 2.

Congratulations 🎉 very good game. Although camera quality is bad we have missed really good rallies to watch
Amazing.. kip going.. you won it for us..🎉🎉🎉🎉
Looking like the Indian Arthur Fils out there! Incredible showing -- not a wild stretch to see him in the top 100 by mid-year -- if he can replicate this form, even top 50 is possible. Solid game, no double faults, great ability to hit returns in the sweet spot and impressive forehand power. Very Fils-like. Excited to see what he can do -- if he gets through R2, he'll face Carlos in R3, which will be fun for his exposure at least!
Beauty o beauty what have you done. Played so well. Good luck mate 👌
Well-done audiance, keep supporting our boy
Jai Hind Sumit Bhai....🇮🇳♥️
Love this man
It feels so amazing as an Indian. Hope he go ahead
Well done young man ❤...
solid from the baseline.. well done!!
If Nagal could just make one change, that would be him not falling back on his forehand (weight has to be forward) every time. To achieve that, he needs to make sure he consciously has turned his shoulder and his left foot is decisively in front of the right foot (with the shoulder facing the right fence as opposed to the net) and finishes with the right foot in front of the left foot or at least in par with the left foot to get the torque. I like his technique on all the other strokes including return of serve. Kudos! Best wishes!
What a Match! ❤
Remember the name, champion in making, JAI HIND
Loved performance ❤❤❤
You Made the Nation Proud 👏 @SumitNagal 🎉 India 🇮🇳
I'm a huge Bublik fan but it's nice to see a Indian representation at AO. Go Nagal!!!
Great performance . Proud Indian.
Great game @sumitnagal ... wishes for upcoming match

Damn takin' out Bubi in straight sets, congrats Mr. Nagal
Proud of you bro😍😍😍
Sumit bro you have made us proud❤
Great work done Nagal
He will be in final...
This guy is not Nadal but deserves a tremendous amount of respect. I do not remember a tennis player from India putting that kind of performance in a Grand Slam against a talented player. Major upset winning in 3 sets against Bublik. I look forward watching this guy again.
LEANDER
Upset but not a major upset. Bublik looked complacent and didn't take Nagal seriously.
Bulblik always look complacent but in a Grand Slam one would not expect that. In the third set when he got 5 games he was intense and he was trying to get back into the match but it was too late . He was very cold shaking hands with the other player who deserved a lot more respect and encouragement. I think Bulbik was mad and embarrassed by his performance and result.
Wow just wow
3:25 The best moment 😂😂
Way to go Lad 🎉
Good luck for upcoming days 🤞
Aage badho Nagal, hum tumare sath hain
Bublik, WTF, you cannot drop out of R1 like this! StOp F aRoUnD!
If Nagal can add little more sting on his serve like 15-20 km/ hr more then it would be more easier points for him on serve. At 26 years old he’s not a very young prospect for India. I hope and pray he achieves a lot in the forthcoming years which will be extremely crucial for him.
Very happy and proud to see an Indian excelling at sports other than cricket at one of the world’s prestigious sporting events
A treasurable day for Indian tennis❤
India invest a lot on cricket rather than other sports, nagal struggled for money for a long tym without sponsor, that's d actual scinerio of indian tennis..........
Brother bcci is private body gov doesn't invest in cricket if you read Indian cricket history you will know what was their struggles till 1983 world cup
@@AP15110 but govt should invest little in tennis. ATP shifted the only ATP tour 250 from India to somewhere else. Even challenger tournaments have been decreasing from past 5 years. How would Indian players get platform to rise in tennis.
@@ajeetp470atp shifted because lack of crowd support. The tournament was struggling to attract top ten players.
The tournament was also very far from Australia making it not very attractive as prep tournament.
Extremely proud of him, such an inspirational story arc he has! Fun fact, Sumit and I both studied at the same school (Little Angels Senior Secondary) in Sonipat City, Haryana and he is a HUGE star out here! I think with the financial troubles sorted, he needs to work on his fitness levels a bit more perhaps (since he is anyways more of a clay court specialist) and who knows, top-50 might not be that far.
All the best, Sumit
