One other feature... if you hold down the BMW button the door mirrors will fold in, providing you have folding mirrors

That’s interesting - the third button (for the boot) does open the smaller boot hatch on my 5-series GT and pressing the bottom button turns on the lights, but long pressing the bottom button activates the electric tail gate. I wonder if that’s just a quirk of the F07 models (possibly because of their dual tailgate design).
Hi Joseph, great comment. I think you are right and its a quirky little thing for the double tailgate on the F07.

Hi bro, are there any specific things to do before a cold start? Like letting it get heated with the heater or can I turn the car on directly without letting it heat for a while?
@Tistry Longman Hey buddy, what sort of cold temperatures we talking? Anything colder -10°c or 14°f I would definitely take precautions. Where are you based in the world?
I have the same exact fob but with no panic button, would I be able to fit a cover made for the one with a panic button on it?

I own an F30 330e M Sport and the key is exactly the same and the buttons also does the same however, the diamond button on mine switches on the climate control. After holding the button for 2 or 3 seconds, the car interior warms up. Do you know if this button can be configured to a different function and if so, how?

Hi Jamil, good question as far as I knew it was lights and panic button only. I have asked a friend of mine who still is a BMW technician and its got him thinking too. He was unaware that the diamond button could be reprogrammed but he is now on the case too and we will find out for you. Sorry I couldn't be anymore help!
I can confirm that pressing for 2 or 3 seconds on mine 330e F30 turns on climate control.
It will be cool if we can change that behavior.

Hi Mihail, it's nice and simple. Sit in the driver seat with ignition off make sure your other key isn't in the car with you! Place the fob next too the key symbol on the steering column. Whilst holding the fob there Start the car and thats it. Hope this helps any problem let me know 👍

I just bought a 2011 535i, and I cant find where to put this key fob inside the car while im actually driving. Like yeah, I can set it inside the storage compartment, the cupholders or my pocket, but what im talking about is like a special slot to put the fob while the car is in use. Like for example, I got into a 2008 535i, and that one had a slot just for the key fob next to the steering wheel. Wtf is going on here?
Hi Beleaguered Beluga, no the F series doesn't have a slot to insert the key like the E series only the options you mentioned.
Do bmw start with this key?
