Here in Australia all of my previous BMW (mix models) 2009-current all had the open and CLOSE windows feature. Also the headlight illumination feature (when you get home and want lights on) you could go into the vehicle (onboard computer settings) and programme headlights on after locking vehicle and choose how long you want them on for. Hope this helps future bmw owners. There is so many choices and settings that will drive you crazy. Also if you have head up display, you can adjust the light intensity and display position on the windscreen (also you can switch it off)

ExoticCar PlayPlace it may not be as good as some higher end scanners but it has been very useful for me. I have had a series of issues with my vehicle that I have diagnosed with Carly scanner. Sticking swirl flaps, boost pressure sensor, and crank position sensor. It also allows me to reset service, request a regeneration, vehicle coding and track all of the parameters right from my phone. It has been just as essential as my 10mm socket 😁 I’m also running Malone stage 2 tune. The extra power is really nice and the fuel economy has improved. fully loaded trunk with a roof box aswell I got 9L/100km from Toronto to kawarthas and back last week.
To close the windows and sunroof take the key out of the fob and put it in the drivers door and turn it clockwise and hold it until everything is closed.
Rick Smooth I hear that allot.. but take into consideration that the battery from the jewelry stores or key cutting places are not rechargeable so it should only apply to keys that have no way of changing the battery like an e46 also the e46 has a copper coil that’s in the ignition. I am not sure if they implemented the same coils due to a replaceable battery in the fob if there is a coil you would need a rechargeable battery. If you have a source for rechargeable fob batteries pls share it with us.

These are features of the comfort pack option on the E70, they are not standard fit. The opening & closing of the windows using the key fob is pretty much standard across the board of German cars
It’s true NA cars don’t roll up windows w/remote, but you can have it coded(or buy the coding app and do it yourself)so the windows roll up with the remote.
Hello Mr. exotic, I love your videos, recently purchased a used 2010 E70 with comfort package, but now driver door comfort unlock is not working but the other doors do work. Do you have experience with this? When parked overnight the next day I have a high battery drainage? In your opinion, is it the faulty driver door draining the battery? Or would it be my alternator resisters or battery? If opinion to share would be great. I have a couple of e46's and do work on them Myself. Feel on top of the world working them, but the x5 took some wind from my sail heh. Thanks again Mario
I see 9.5L/100km on your dash. Is it normal or yours is really good on gas? Because mine never drops below 10.5 (yes, I do not drive like crazy. I am very gentle with my X5)
Note that these Keyfobs have a non rechargable battery so dont need to be in the key slot .Better than the old diamond rechargeable keys .You try and change the batteries in them !
Once I got home from work, and a few hours later my dad came back from his work and he found the BMW with all the windows down he got so mad at me. I just realised now, I must have had the unlock button pressed against something.
turn it off every time and it will reset and stop doing it, your bmw starts to get used to what you do and customizes itself to the driver, should reset after a few weeks :)
Hope you realized your a/c is still working regardless if the button is pressed or not. Leave the a/c on and your windows will defog faster. It pulls humidity from the air. That's why it comes on by default. So regardless if button is pressed or not....your a/c compressor is still working. All the button does is to allow a/c air in the cabin and to dehumidify the cabin. Try it next time your windows fog up. Turn on a/c even with hot air setting on and watch how much faster your window defog compared to with the button off
I came because my keys bmw symbol middle button doesn’t do anything. So basically my car doesn’t lock. In order to lock it I have to take out he manual key and use it in the key hole. Any one know what I can do to fix it.
If your battery is dead in your key fob and you use the manual key to unlock the car you can touch the key fob against a symbol marked on the side of the steering column and push the start button in the car. This will disable the immobiliser which will enable you to still start the engine.
My "favorite" feature of the fob, is, walking past my front window and seeing my trunk is open on a rainy day. And I'm wearing my robe whilst heading to the bathroom. Obviously, something was inadvertently pressed to do this. I'm grateful for my honest neighbors! And congratulations on your 1 million!

You forgot to mention that if you hold the mechanical key in the left position it opens all windows and roof. Right will close all and fold the mirrors.
To close the windows on my 2008 335i (with the fob) I have to press the lock button twice and hold on the second press. Try it may work on yours to ;). Grate vid thank you
I also have a 2009 x5 diesel, and I just tried the press start without the key inserted in the slot, and nothing happened... Anyway, i don't know why the air blows out very weak from dash...
Hold the lock button for 5-6 seconds and it will roll up the windows. Same with comfort (soft) access. Put hand over handle area to lock door and leave hand there for 5-6 seconds and it will roll up windows. If that doesn’t work then the car needs to be coded. Can be done with Carly App and OBD ll module at home. Lots of coding features can taylor your BMW to the desired functions.
@@ECPP You can also use the manual key to open the windows / sunroof by holding the door lock in the open position (just like the remote), but unlike the remote you can use the manual key to close them as well. BMWs of this vintage also have a plastic emergency key with a chip embedded that can be used for this purpose.
My 2011 m3 opens the windows, does not close them. I've seen this video before about disabling the system so it wouldn't chirp while washing the car. Forgot how to disable rewatched and will try that next time.

I have a 2012 F11 were it says "low battery" and when I put in a new battery it takes about 2-3 month and it says "low battery" again. I checked it and it's 3.6V on both the old and new battery and it's the same with both fobs and I can unlock the car from 20 yards. I still use them but some times it says "no key" and I can't start unless I lock and unlock a couple of times and it has been like this for 5 years. A solution anyone?
You've probably sorted this or even have a new car now but I had a similar issue with an octavia. I had to turn the battery around inside the key so the positive terminal picture was facing a certain direction. The battery was basically rotating inside the key which shouldn't make any difference really should it! Might be the same or completely different but just thought I'd share this experience.

Two things that annoy me. The key fob brings e windows down but not up omg it drives me insane.!! The trunk opens from the inside but wont close with the push of the same button,u have to come out of the car and push the button. Holy hell,who was the mastermind behind this sheet.!!! 🤬. Then u sit in a Hyundai or nissan mid size suv and realize the damn backseats space is huge and the seats recline to damn near infiniti and beyond . Then u hop back in ur expensive x5 & x6 and wonder what the hell was those Germans thinking,… Just like acura thinking that only 5 feet tall people sit in cars.

My dad used to have an e61 5 series touring and the fob died so he used the key and he locks with it. The alarm keeps going off with it. Even if it's locked with the key and I have been locked inside and someone opened the interior mirror then the alarm went off
Just so y’all know. At least on e9x models, if your car is running you can leave the car running with the key still in your pocket I.e to lock the car when warming up/cooling down. Start car with key in slot. Turn off with button and remove key. Within 10 seconds hold foot on brake and press start button again. You can now leave the car running and walk away with the key.
Tip: Another way to open or close all the windows at once is you open and take the key out of the fob, put the key into the drivers door lock, turn and hold the key in position either left or right, depending on whether you want to open or close the windows.
I have 2008 x5 and i dont have comfort mode but i can leave my car running and close doors.Stop motor,then take key off,pull start button and it will start.

If your car camping in the middle of nowhere with the keyfob in the recepticle, never get out of the rear door and close it. You will be locked out of the car and have to break a window.
3:20 - I have 2009 X5 Diesel (almost like yours) without comfort access. I found that I can unlock the car with the key, slide key in the slot, start the engine. Then, after a half a minute, I can shut down the engine and take key out of the slot and (without long pause) press break and start the engine without key in the slot. After that I can lock lock my car running to get it wormed up and go home with the key in my pocket. Fount this feature unexpectedly... :)
You did not mention the key can lock the hatch/booth from the armrest console. If you don’t want, say the car wash people or Machanic to have access to the car booth you can lock it and take that mechanical key with you while leaving the fob with them.
try keeping pressed on the key fob the button of the trunk, normally it should allow you to leave it open in the angle you want immediately when depressing it, let;s say in order to carry a longer than your trunk object. If you try let us know if it worked!
Depends on the key, but you can put the car in the slot, start the car. Then turn it off, take out the key then hold down the brake and start it again without the key.
Older BMW's also have these features. That newer cars eventually adopted. Sure they aren't special anymore, but pretty cool back when cars like these were new, like the '07 530xi I have rn

In OKC U.S my bmw 550i 2008 did close the windows with the key fob lock button but my 2015 m4 doesn’t do it.
If you push and hold the trunk button for a while it will go in panic mode

You did not mention the key can lock the hatch/booth from the armrest console. If you don’t want, say the car wash people or Machanic to have access to the car booth you can lock it and take that mechanical key with you while leaving the fob with them.
You don’t want the car to warm up standing motion less. Very bad for your motor.

To close the windows..... you put the key in the door and turn it to the right and hold it
try keeping pressed on the key fob the button of the trunk, normally it should allow you to leave it open in the angle you want immediately when depressing it, let;s say in order to carry a longer than your trunk object. If you try let us know if it worked!

Depends on the key, but you can put the car in the slot, start the car. Then turn it off, take out the key then hold down the brake and start it again without the key.

Well not very impressive^^ has nearly every newer car. At least in europe (Range,VW,Porsche,Audi etc.)
Older BMW's also have these features. That newer cars eventually adopted. Sure they aren't special anymore, but pretty cool back when cars like these were new, like the '07 530xi I have rn

I have the 2011 x6 bmw and the battery keep running out of battery every week
only with comfort option ( Fob with cell battery ) , all the other ones ( rechargeable battery by induction ) won't work
