Transitioning diets is not just a journey of nutrition but also about listening to your body and mind to find the balance that works best for you. Thank you for sharing this inspiring journey.
I ate a heavily plant based and even raw diet off and on for 5 years before finally giving it up. I could not get satiated no matter how hard I tried. There weren’t enough nut butters and avocados to satisfy my never ending hunger. Juicing wrecked my digestion. Raw foods gave me extreme tooth sensitivity and a sore tongue. Cooked carbs no matter how healthy kept me bloated. I feel my best eating meat and vegetables together in smaller portions.
Wow what a journey it sounds like you've been on. I'm so happy you have found a way of eating that feels good to you. We all deserve to be in a place like that around food 🤗

I can relate to many things that you're talking about in this video. Right now I am eating what I call The freedom diet. I eat whatever I want to eat and don't feel guilty about it. I still eat high raw vegan mostly. The only thing that I dont like Is meat or poultry. I still enjoy seafood about every other month still too. Aw thank you very much. That is really lovely of you to share 🥰 My dinner's these days are mostly cooked meals with starchy carbs, proteins and fats. I don't snack too much, but if I do, it will be fresh coconut water with my greens powders, berries, dried fruit, or cucumber sticks with hummus for example.
I am currently in the process of initiating a juice fast, and I am on day two. However, I am experiencing significant discomfort due to the cold winter temperatures, which make me feel as though I am in Antarctica. I find that my kidneys are particularly sensitive, likely due to the low temperatures and the fact that I am a woman. In my view, it is important to nourish our bodies with warm and gently cooked foods, as well as healthy fats. While incorporating juice and raw foods can be beneficial, I question the practicality of consuming raw salads that are shipped from warmer climates. In contrast, we have access to nutrient-rich foods such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, cabbage, carrots, and apples that are more in season and can be enjoyed in their cooked forms, along with fermented foods. It is worth noting that many advocates of raw food diets reside in tropical regions with ample sunlight. This raises the question of whether a raw food diet is truly suitable for everyone. Personally, I resonate more with Ayurvedic principles, which emphasize a woman's hormonal balance and the importance of adapting dietary practices to one’s individual needs and environmental conditions.
I will have to put that one up on my website soon I think. I've had many requests for it 😝 For now, I'll share that it's a 1/4 cup walnuts, handful of sundried tomatoes, large handful of fresh tomatoes, 1/2 small stalk of celery, garlic, dried herbs including basil, oregano and thyme, squeeze of lemon.
There's only so much you can tell about one's personal situation simply by looking at them. I tried to eat in a way that supported my health at the different stages of my chronic illness journey. When I look back, I definitely would've made some different choices 🤪 but I'm here now and doing my best.
So happy for you!! There's so much freedom and sense of peace from you. I can relate, I have been through exactly what you have. Have you experimented with quality animal products?🎉

GREAT to see you back on a podcast. I just do the Mediterranean Diet. I'm 76 years old and have never taken a prescription, had one sick day in 52 years of working and never had any medical issues. Mediterranean Diet is the answer. I love your podcasts!
At least you know how to heal yourself if you ever get sick. I read Mucussless Healing System and everytime I eat starch let alone animal products I get all the symptoms of unhealthy person like smelly body odors , mucus, blurry vision etc. I am plant based because it makes me feel great. I don't know how people say they don't get full in a plant based diet, I wonder what they eat.

Veganism is not a journey. It is a commitment. Veganism is not about health, it is about empathy for the animals, whom your video did not mention once. There's nothing wrong with a balanced sensible cooked food approach to being vegan, but this health journey lingo without any mention of the animals is something we vegans have all seen before. Next year you're going to be eating eggs and fish, the year after that beef and chicken. This raw health - journey "vegan" story without any mention of the animals is the same story over and over.
Not true. It's ok to be healthy cooked vegan or raw vegan without mentioning the animals because if vegans convince the carnists to get healthy by going vegan, then the animals benefit too. Many people have not had the benefit of watching Dominion or Earthlings so it's ok to start with the health benefits of veganism.
@pinkiepinkster8395 it's okay to start for the health benefits of veganism. Sure. But how many vegans do you know staying at it long-term for health?
