For what it is worth this video was very helpful, it took the stress out of my concern, as ,how I was goin to get that egr and bypass valve off , the company I bought my kit from had us takin the egr off from the valve then taken the bypass off , it was so much better doin the way you did . Thanks for talen the time to video you work
Wow awesome video, precisely what I spent about 8 hours failing at today. You've given some great tips here, will try that tomorrow. Thanks a ton for this.
Name Goes Here know the feeling lol I hope our works out for ya. Btw now that's this is all over with, I had trouble with 2 different h&s programmers downloading to my pickup, had a guy install a ez lynk 75hp upgrade. Runs a ton better and went from 10 mpg to 15, and that's working/ idling a lot, going down the road I get almost 18
I used a sawsall on the shaft on that valve controller after I pryed on it it and had enough slack to get to it... I got the too on top loose and the front cooler off, now I only have the back 4 to go... and it looks like a total nightmare.. wish me luck... and thanks for the video
O one other thing, get the bolts off the bypass before taking the two top bolts off , this will help support the valve and help break them loose, its still goin to be a bugger, ie. tight spot .
Ahh yes i will try this i got that one bolt off the first cooler that you was talking about at end of video by taking the alternator off extension ratchet ...now ill be trying ur method for second half
Hey man, is that the EGR valve next to the fire wall you are working on ? I am going to delete mine too. Just going to get a muffler shop to cut what I dont need on the bottom of the truck off. And I am going to unplug my EGR valve. The place where I got my programmer said it will work that way, they said that I should probably unplug the EGR valve though. Just going to make sure before I unplugged something wrong.
You can unplug the egr but you're better off removing it in my opinion. Unplugging it is just a short cut a lot of people use to get by and make money calling it a "delete" however it doesn't delete everything and it doesn't eliminate problems later on. If you do it all at once and do it right you probably won't have to go back and fix things later. However that's just my opinion, I know people that have got along fine that way. I just think if it's not there at all it can't cause you problems in time.
Did you have to remove the alternator to get to the bottom bolt on that first egr cooler? I have no idea how to do it as of right now wirh those fuel lines being right in the way
I did not remove the alternator, watch the video from 5:09 and after. Just get everything loose you can and just pry up just enough to get a wrench on it.
@@samthomas4269 I actually bent one of my crappy wrenches and got them out but damn did I do a lot of screaming and cussing and may or may not have took a ball bat to my metal locker in my garage before I got them out 😂🤦♂️
Chris Clayton it took a couple of days to finally figure out all the tools I was going to need and how I was going to go about doing it. If I did another one it would only take about 4 hours or so. It's not that bad if you have the right tools. Definitely get a set of those ratchet wrenches that's what saved the day if it wouldn't have been for them I don't know how I would have done it.
Sam Thomas thank ya bud for responding! When you say ratchet wrench.. you mean the regular box end looking wrench or you talking about the ratchet with the hole through it looking thing?

Egr will still blow thru even when unplugged... minimum get blocker plates... the right way is to do full delete
Thanks for your time and insight man👍

How the &$@& did you get the 3 bolts off the back near the firewall??
Used a couple of stubby wrenches to get them broke loose then that thin craftsman ratchet and socket. Don't think I would have got it without those.

@@chrismathewsmerriman2144 I totally get that, was at the same place multiple times if anyone had heard me they'd have locked me in the crazy house. 🤣
Did you have to disconnect the bottom radiator hose?
No, don't think I did.
@@samthomas4269 also, im assuming you tuned your truck after, did the vgt self adjust and make a loud squeel sound?
@@diegofletes3816 I did, ran ezlynk and really liked it just did a one time tune of 75 horse. No noise though it didn't sound any different.
@@samthomas4269 awesome thank you!
You are a hero!! Lmao. Thanks for the video on this!
How long did it take you to get it all done?

Yeah no problem. I was talking about the one with the hole in it. That particular one was a craftsman set and it came with 3/8 set and a 1/2 in set
Sam Thomas ok! Thank ya bud!
You betcha
Man fucking awesome video just saved my life
God bless you
