    HOORAY! As an avid fan of VLTTW, I have just watched my first episode and I am excited for this new venture. What an excellent idea and one that is sure to clarify so many things about our amazing and marvelous vocal anatomy. As a vocal instructor for over 30 years I applaud each of you and the experience you share with those who desire to increase their knowledge and ability where the voice is concerned. I can only imagine the far reaching effects this could have for multitudes around the world. BRING IT ON!

    Thank you, this looks great! It seems to me there should be an extra component: the aryepiglottic sphincter ("twanger"). no? For characters with a robotic voice like Ned from South Park (also Cartman has some twang I think). Correct me if I'm wrong and those voices can be explained using the 6 components.

    • @NewYorkVocalCoaching
      @NewYorkVocalCoaching  5 лет назад

      Excellent observation! We mentioned twang in a few of our videos! Be sure to check out Episode 9, for example! Not every voice includes narrowing of the aryepiglottic sphincter, so we have not included as one of our main six components. For voices that requires elements besides our core six components, we are sure to mention them! - NYSC

    Are these the only movements in each component . or can there be more movements in these components.
    For example: can we do more with larynx then just doing up and down.

    • @NewYorkVocalCoaching
      @NewYorkVocalCoaching  2 года назад

      In the example, the larynx only moves up and down but the thyroid cartilage does rock back and forth a little to change vocal fold length and tension, which can affect pitch. Here's a video Brendan did about the larynx that we recommend watching, @Seduction Channel: ruclips.net/video/LbwUi3IHHDs/видео.html

    When i lower the soft palate/raising the back of my tongue, it doesn't work-
    The front of my tongue moves and the back doesn't seem to or the front of my tongue is just rounded in my mouth..
