Great share here Steve. Football heavy this go around and I love that OJ Simpson. Never seen that card before. Always enjoy and thanks for sharing with us.
Hi Steve! Man, you had a great return, my friend. The 1970 Glossy Unitas is absolutely gorgeous! Congrats on the high grade. I love the eye appeal of the whole submission. Thanks for sharing and have a great rest of the day!
Beautiful cards and great grades! It’s always nice when you get graded higher than you expected! The Unitas in an 8 is fantastic! Love the 73 HR Leaders card! So cool that you’ve had it since you were a kid!
Hi Steve, Fantastic cards and an incredible return! That ’71 Wilt is a beauty - the yellow jersey against the fluorescent pink background really makes it pop. It’s such an iconic look, and I honestly think this is the best basketball card set out there. And the ’69 “Broadway Joe” Namath is a classic! I especially love the back, with its reference to Joe methodically picking apart the Baltimore Colts defense to deliver the AFL’s first Super Bowl championship. That may even be one of the earliest references to the Super Bowl on a card, though I haven’t looked into that detail - but it definitely captures the significance of that game. The Mean Joe card is one of his best, and it looks even better slabbed up. The 74 All Pro cards are so cool. Love the Csonka! And congrats on the high grade for the Unitas! That Simpson card is a real beauty too. You know my thoughts on having him in your collection - he was arguably the most significant football player of the 1970s. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks Terry! The 71 basketball set is hard to beat, I want to add a Gail Goodrich from that set it is a really cool looking card. Goodrich, West and Chamberlain were the big three on the Lakers 72 championship team. The 69 Namath is a classic card, Joe Willie has so many sweet cards! The 74 All Pro cards are really cool, I have an OJ that is not in as good of shape as the Csonka but it will eventually make it to SGC. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
Nice grouping there, I do my reveals very similarly. I always look at the grades first though because I'm weak. Love the OJ glossy, Ruth/Aaron/Mays, and 67 Batting Leaders.
Gave a video like. My favorite was the Larry Csonka! That is a beauty! Looking forward to seeing your next submission come back. Thanks for sharing, Steve
Good luck. I have a Larry Csonka story. I used to work on projects in Alaska and one day I was at a small charter airplane office in Kodiak, Alaska and Larry and a few of his folks came in. I think he had some sort of outdoor adventure show on one of the channels in the day and he was there filming with his crew. The weather wasn’t great and we were sitting and waiting in this small area. I eventually worked up the courage to go and ask him for an autograph for my son-in-law who is a huge Dolphins fan. I had nothing for him to sign, so I grabbed one of the business’s cards on the counter and he signed the back of it for me and HOF. Very nice. 😅
Hey Steve! Sorry I’m a couple of days behind on this video. Wonderful returns from your submission. I always like to see your childhood collection get slabbed up. The ‘69 Namath is just an iconic card. I love that whole set. And the ‘74 AP Csonka is my favorite of his. The ‘72 Greene really looks good in the Tux. Nice reveal! Hope all is well.
Thanks, Andy! The 69 Topps football is such a sweet set. I think that set and 72 are my two favorites. I appreciate you taking the time to watch. Take care!
Awesome sub, Steve - I had to look it up, it's a pop 5 on the Unitas with only three higher out of 65 graded by SGC. Well done! That Csonka is a fantastic football card -- I can practically hear John Facenda doing NFL Films narration over that shot. Great choices to send in, and great results!
It's funny that you point out the band-aid on the Joe Namath card. I've wondered about that, so I just looked and he actually has one on for the 68, 69 and 70 cards, as well as the Glossy, his 69 stamp and Stand-up card. Either they kept using the same photos from one shooting, or Joe had a helmet that did not fit. LOL Honestly, I had never seen the 74 all pro cards, but I like them and the Csonka card is awesome. One more for my list! Great reveal, and just another reason why I need to concentrate more on my childhood cards that I collected.
Thanks Mike! I did not know about his 68, with the band aid and short hair it had to be the same photo shoot. The 74 All Pro cards are some of my favorites, I have an OJ that is not quite as nice as the Csonka but it will eventually get submitted.
For some reason I like purple on cards (Chamberlin). Not sure why other than it just appeals to me. Love the choices you made for submissions. Terrific looking cards and it appears that you did pretty well.
Wow! Some great looking cards man!!!! They sure like nice in the slab!!! Excellent additions! How do you keep all of these slabs? I have 4 cards that are slabbed, just curious. Have a good week Steve! Love the leaders card!!!
Thanks Jason! Right now I store them in graded card boxes, trying to figure out if there is a room I can put a couple of display cases. If I can't figure that out I am thinking of graded card binders.
Great assortment of cards Steve! I think that vintage football just hits different. And Leader cards I'm a big fan of. Why not have multiple stars and HOF players on a card instead of just one? Pretty good guesses at your grades too!
apparently SGC doesn't grade with their heart, LOL. They are tight these days with the greats. Love the Chamberlain. I remember opening packs with just about all of those. Some great cards as usual.
Great share here Steve. Football heavy this go around and I love that OJ Simpson. Never seen that card before. Always enjoy and thanks for sharing with us.
Great submission Steve!! Congratulations on some awesome grades on these amazing cards!! You have some special cards to add to your collection!!
Thank you, really appreciate it!

Congrats on an awesome return my friend! You hit the number or exceeded on every card minus the Namath. You should work for SGC lol!
Thanks Jason, I was very happy with the submission.
