Thx just got my 2,345,000 CR Bond solo thx to this video. It was quite a learning curve still. Lots of frustration with engineering until i got it right (2 caustic sinks -- because i didn't want to craft anything while at the titan, 64 cargo full of repair limpits -- maybe overkill but it gave me more time to learn so i think it was worth it, 3 ax missile pods, a beam laser to stay cool, and nanite torpedo was my loadout). As soon as i learned the topography of the titan it was a breeze. Eventually i realized i didn't need to be in silent running all the time, just when i was getting shot at by the turrets because >20 degrees. I found speed to be essential and hopefully no one bothers to try and clear the turrets on the titan, totally unnecessary. I would just fly to the side with the vent mountains. Wait for it to open (while zapping with the beam laser to stay below 20 degrees). Drop a nanite bomb when it lets me lock on. Boost around to the other side of the ship, typically in silent running. Get in position at the core, crown/pointy mountain area, well before it opened at a distance of like 100 meters away (aiming not an issue for the 3 dumbfire missile pods at that distance). Wait for the core to expose itself (sometimes it didn't open, maybe i missed?) while shooting the laser to stay cool. Unload on the core for around 148k in credits (i think that's the max credits possible per run). And when it retracts just boost like 30 km away straight up to avoid the blue blast that's coming (while popping a repair limpet and firing off the last rockets in the magazine to trigger a reload). I noticed at this distance nothing will try to attack so its a good place to repair or take a break if necessary. Then just fly back to the other side of the titan, find a vent, wait for it to open, and repeat.
@@delunevonbekThis was done with a krait 2. Later i improved the ship with Sirius pre-engineered rockets and learned that bombing multiple vents resulted in more CR damage to the vent. CMDR Buur, I loved this video. You made it sound so simple, and yet I have purchased essentially a fleet of Kraits. But seriously, I am able to consistently get to the Titan now (thank you!!) I was timing the pulse wave nuetralizer incorrectly. I am annoyed by the sheer number of interdictions just to get near the Maelstrom, but once you're to the cloud, assuming you don't run into the mines, it really isn't difficult to get to the Titan. And ... truly ... the suggestion to put the caustic sink launchers all under one button and allow the field nuetralizer to be fired from the other is a fantastic solution. While there was a learning curve, these tips should be all anyone needs to get there and see the truly breathtaking views. o7 Commanders.
I was thinking of a pilgrimage to Colonia. Now I have converted my scout killing Mamba to be a Titan killer. Doing my first dive into one of the maelstroms this week. O7 CMDRs
Excited to finally take the fight to the 'Goids, but I hope this isn't the last time we ever see Titans in-game. Would be a shame if we lost this very cool environment & gameplay loop permanently. Maybe periodic Titan incursions into the bubble, or ones that we have to clear as we "island hop" to thargoid space
My guess is that after a period of quiet, either Titans will occasionally show up in the bubble and need to be repelled, or we will be allowed into a permit locked area where the Titans come from that will allow them to be fought indefinitely.
Something else worth noting, and this is mostly for when you're attacking with a group and waiting for your wingmates to arrive, if you hang out in the asteroid field surrounding the Titan, the patrols will largely ignore you. Just be mindful of the seed mines (you can pop them with the beam laser, just be a couple km away), and you can sit pretty without worry. Great video as always Burr, look forward to seeing your future coverage as we wipe the rest of these Titans, and once we can investigate the remains of Taranis.
Yeah it’s actually a surprisingly safe and chill place to hangout. During the meltdown I found the underside (pineapple) asteroid field was the safest to wait in.
Those spots are good if you're trying to get the Titan's alert status back to green after doing a few bombing laps to try and get patrols to clear out. Personally, I've really only used those spots when I'm taking someone sightseeing, and I want a sheltered spot to irritate the Titan into doing its Torus without getting shot at by the patrols or turrets.
I just noticed today that both the heat sinks and the pulse neutraliser can be bound to any key of your choosing on the keyboard which clears the fire groups up a bit.
I tend to run 2 caustic sinks on opposite fire groups. The pulse neutrilizer can be bound to a keyboard command as it counts as a shutdown field neutrilizer. So it doesn't need to be in a fire group. Having the caustic sinks in opposite fire groups means you can purge each as it becomes full so you never need to choose between dumping early or letting the caustic reach your hull
Gonna be a rough time for me, since I've spent the vast majority of my time in the black exploring and trading rather than any engineering beside FSDs but with this and the linked info, I'll give it my best lol
Excellent guide, thank you both for making it. Hadad was my first titan bombing, didn't really have time before. The tips were really helpful (e.g. set-up of fire groups) and even though I died a couple of times I could get my 2 Mill Bonds in the third try. First time I had 5 vents I believe and made about 400k, second time I died before reaching the core, third time I only did 3 vents to get down in time for the core and could hit it for the full extension time, which gave me over 2 Mill. I'm sure with more practice I can improve upon that, but for the Bonds it seems more important to get the damage in on the core rather than hitting as many vents as possible. In any case for my very first attempt this was fine and would not have been possible without your help. Thanks again.
Great video. I have love do the Titan story from the beginning. Going into the maelstrom first of all; then getting in to the titans for the first time; collecting materials and rescuing passengers and these were quite tough. And the current attack the titan is brilliant… it is like a mini attack on death star. And out of all the Titan gameplay, it is I feel the easiest to get involved in. And I say this as someone who is not an AX specialists pilot (or someone who is even any good at combat). So if you’re new to AX or titans, now really is the time the try and the tips in this video are really good.
Took part in attack on Taranis, but unfortunately missed the explosion. Now doing attack runs on Leigong (plus AX combat in surrounding systems to weaken the Titan). Only had one instance (at Taranis) where heat vents froze up. Using the mighty Imperial Clipper!
I jumped right into this war with some of my newly met CMDRs who showed me what to buy and what to use... I quickly reassembeled my anaconda and made my way to my first Titan.. the Titan Raijin... still I had no clue what to expect... and I was shocked on everything that just happend there... the interdictions... the poison cloud... I was nowhere near the Titan... tried 3 times lost 45 mill creds in each revive process and still couldn't get through the caustic clouds... Now that I watched your video I know what to expect after I exit the clouds :) Now for the last Titan will about to appear soon... I bought a Krait MKII and I'm speedrunning myself through the engineers and upgrades and want to get ready when the Last Titan becomes vulnarable.
Your sheidl also defends you from the Titan Torus. And staying close to the surface of the Titan during the torus with a shield is quite safe too. It only depleets a few % of your shield and nothing more. 4 pip to shields still recommended.
This was great information. I have stayed out of the Thargoid war, but when they hit Sol... I got angry. I definitely need to take a quick trip to get my beam laser modified. Thanks for the information!
One useful trick: If you in a realtively hot ship you can approch the Titan with flight assist off and with an offline thruster. The momentum will carry you there, and you will be significantly cooler. The heat is proposional to your power consuption, and the main consumer is the thrusters. Cutting everything that is not important will reduce your heat. And when you arrive to the Titan, just turn on flight assist, and it will stop your ship without the thrusters. You can wait there until the vents open, then turn on your thruster and go. Also, the turrents on the Titan turn off when the core is out.
THANK YOU! I wish I had this video about 18 hours ago! Tried about 8 times to get to the titan and every time I got wrecked by the titan wave. I thought the bar had to be loaded fully when the wave hit so was trying to time it perfectly to be full just as it hit. Couldn't find anyone else talking about it. Todays job was to research it some more... but you've done a great video that gives me the confidence to try again! Thanks!
When i went to Taranis ladt week I could not get close to it. I bypassed the pulse successfully, and was boosting towards tge titan and was stuck in place. Was it my heat management that prevented my approach? I was above 60% constantly.
Saying that there are squads (I mean that in the general term,) are there wings that are dedicated to knocking out defenses and dealing with interceptors (again, in the general term,) in order to keep the heat ofd the "bombers?"
About to make my first jump into a Titan, Lei gong. Thanks for the great video. I have watched about a dozen times today in preparation for my first titan run. Wish me luck. o7
Thanks for the video! Useful as always. I'll be dipping in and out from time to time and try and time the 2 Mil bond threshold; but skipping the grind. I wonder how many hundreds of core exposures will it take just to drop one ring? Anyone calculated this?
Removing the Glaive from interdictons was the best thing fdev could have done. I know there's a lot of pilots more than capable to escape them but it locked the content off from so many of us.
Removed the frustrating Glaive hyperdictions...those drove me up the wall. To the point where I stopped trying to get to the Titans. No unlocks for Caustic Sync and Pulse defeat. Do you think they finally realized that most people were done with engineering grinds?
I certainly think they realised the glaive and material requirements were preventing folks from participating and they therefore needed to make changes to open that gameplay up to as many as possible.
@@TheBuurPitI don't mind working for an unlock. But the ones that make you gather the list of requirements every time you need another instance of the item are just silly. The Glaive beatdown on Titans that had longer than a few jumps to reach was pretty severe. Especially when the double Glaive was a possibility. The real issue is that it changed the game from designing a ship for a purpose where the player had control of only engaging in that purpose when they were in that ship. All of a sudden you could either have an interceptor build, or a Glaive build, (or an Orthis build). If you got caught by the one you were not equipped for you had a to run. Which is ok, until you have 5-6 hyper/interdictions on the way to a Titan and there was a good chance that one of those 5-6 dictions was a double, which had a good chance of killing you. You also had a good chance of dying if you lost 20% hull each time. You can only narrowly escape so many times before the game just ground you to death. Then it became a choice of value of play experience for my time. After a few of those I just got tired of wasting my hour in attempting to have fun. So I did other things in the game, then took a bit of a break. It wasn't necessarily incorrect, but it wasn't the right choice for the user experience in light of what the player base was used to. Definitely not the right choice for engagement of newer players.
Many thanks to CMDR Buur for this excellent tutorial and to CMDR Rheeney for the amazing visuals. I had all but given up on the prospect of successfully attacking the Titans but tonight after watching and rewatching this video, I successfully completed 3 bombing runs and attacks on the Core for a total of 4.9Million Cr. Your work on behalf of the game and it's community is much appreciated. o7
Sadly we don't have the space in our schedule to do them anymore. We both work full-time and then with everything Buur Pit, family and home etc etc it takes up the rest of the time o7
It's fair to mention that you don't need to bind the Pulse Neutraliser to a firegroup at all, If you have a key assigned to the Shutdown Field Neutraliser in the game settings that works for the Neutraliser too. I have mine bound to the spacebar so when i'm approaching the EMP i just put 4 pips to Sys and hold Space until my sys is drained, It's enough to get me in.
So you should have both caustic sinks active at the same time ? Do they fill up half as fast then ? I was doing one at a time and the other inactive...
I've seen lots of other ships engage Titan, but the only one a build for its the Krait. (Mechan's Mamba is a specialized wing based design.) It would be really helpful to have a few other designs like the Python you were using.
Before your video dropped I went to Leigong and after damaging thermal core I died during the taurus event, after watching this great video I made a few attack runs and accumulate 2M credits in bounties and was returning to my carrier but something (invisible) kept hitting my ship sending it on a spin and finally I died. What was that?
On the way out of the cloud the push back pulse still fires. If you've got hull it will just push you out if you're sufficiently damaged it could destroy you. It would have been happening behind you. Could it have been that?
As you're entering the cloud, you will occasionally come across caustic damage... As long as you have the sinks on board and set to a fire group, they should absorb it. If you're not certain on how they work, having them equipped and on a fire group (It does not have to be on your primary fire driven. They can be a secondary or even tertiary group), You will see bars underneath them on your HUD, as you take caustic damage, they will start filling up. Once all of your sinks fill up, you will then begin to take damage to your hull, switch to the fire group that they're on and eject them and you will start the process all over.
Right. I forgot to mention this as well... Once you pass the point where you see the asteroids and you can actually see the Titan, you shouldn't take any further caustic damage
So I can join the battle whit a basic ship, it awesome;). Another question, you can mine the asteroids or it's to dangerous? You know if there is interesting minerals around the titan??
idk what I'm doing wrong, running a shieldless FDL with a huge thermal vent beam some nanite torps and ax missiles and I just can't catch a break. Last attempt I was going to the underside to hit the core and lost 70% of my hull bouncing off the titan because I my inertia carried me into it.
I've been in Indra trying to bomb it, I manage to shoot the vents and make the core expose, but it retracts so fast I'm unable to do damage, it doesn't even activate the Magnetic field... Frustrating.
Made my first attempt on Leigong. I think i got pretty close as i saw some asteroids but after that lost my bearings and ran out of caustic sinks... Come to think of it and i think this is a newie: I forgot to use my repair limpets.
Yes. This has been the case since the titans arrived (it also happens in HIP 22460 where the Proteus wave exploded from). There's an engineering modification that can now shield guardian modules from it's effects.
@@OverlordSpartanAll you have to do is join the AXI private group, find out what system they're doing it at and you'll pretty much find commanders farming spire 24/7. Kill orthus, 40m a kill.
The moment you get an engineered laser that vents heat and figure out the entire titan counts as an enemy, so you can sit on it and continuously shoot it to bring your heat to about 0%, it's like a switch is flipped. All you need to do is drop torpedoes in the vents to expose the giant weak spot and then you realize.... wow there's REALLY noy much to this other than the tedious flight into Sol with all the interdictions, then the tedious caustic cloud around the Titan...
There is a big problem with your vidéo cmdr. There are so beautiful and "a couper le souffle" like we say in french. And, in this case, I totally miss all the points you're speaking about in the video. I try to watch it a second time, but, again, may attention is catch by the pictures. Nevertheless, watching your vidéo can be a good exercice for a combat pilot to escape the "target fascination".
or, here's a thought - why bother if its that much effort. there are way more better things to do in life than watch countless videos on how to play a game

Your work on behalf of the game and it's community is much appreciated. o7
Whatever happened with the live streams? I feel like I haven't seen one from you two in a while.
Wow, that's an incredibly detailed guide! Thanks...😎
7:27 Do you mean Alec "Why we can't have nice things" Turner 😂
Great video, covers everything you need to know.
Great video, thanks
Man... great video. Thanks for making it. I wanna try and get into one of these fights
So you should have both caustic sinks active at the same time ? Do they fill up half as fast then ?
I was doing one at a time and the other inactive...
They fill up one at a time and you simply eject them when they're both full.
I've seen lots of other ships engage Titan, but the only one a build for its the Krait. (Mechan's Mamba is a specialized wing based design.) It would be really helpful to have a few other designs like the Python you were using.
Very helpful, thanks.
The first attack cost me many ships and never go to see it let alone shot at it
Really grate video! Id really love to know the build you where using in this video too!
Got my bonds. Thanks BP!
@@TheBuurPit It could. So what should I do to avoid it. Can I use TPN?
@@ytabhigan the neutraliser will work but ideally you use the pulse wave to get you out of there quicker. Perhaps some hull re-enforcement?
@@TheBuurPitOkay, I'll try to get some HRPs then. Cheers.
o7 ;)
Cheers Pit I just got 4.5 million died 5 times but managed to get included in the Goal, Cheers
I don't know if it helps, but I haven't been using an experimental weapons stabiliser since the update.
i just tried to get to cocijo, i got my ass kicked, repeatedly. i couldnt even get close enough to see it. so here i am looking for any tips i can get
Does a ship fly through the costic cloud to the titan, or is the costic always present?
You know if there is interesting minerals around the titan??
i can not get into the cloud to even get here how is it done please
idk what I'm doing wrong, running a shieldless FDL with a huge thermal vent beam some nanite torps and ax missiles and I just can't catch a break. Last attempt I was going to the underside to hit the core and lost 70% of my hull bouncing off the titan because I my inertia carried me into it.
I found a DBX running cool is pretty nice for at least getting to the Titan. I am poor however :/
Thank you very much! That helped a lot!
Interesting, that’s a lot of utility slots, can the caustic sinks be bound to hotkeys like heat sinks? I don’t see an option.
As far as I know, they can't.
@@TheBuurPit Thanks matey
I just cannot, cannot, cannot, get past the field. I just cant' get the timing right, so frustrating!
This was a damn good video, so helpful. Thankyou!
seems just being in system destroys all guardian tek on ship? my gauss and guardian power plant were nearly toast upon arrival
Yes. This has been the case since the titans arrived (it also happens in HIP 22460 where the Proteus wave exploded from).
There's an engineering modification that can now shield guardian modules from it's effects.
I still dont get it
Everybody is worried about getting flashy decals, meanwhile, I'm over here camping spire making billions per 2 hours while I still can
It still works? Solo or wing?
@@OverlordSpartanAll you have to do is join the AXI private group, find out what system they're doing it at and you'll pretty much find commanders farming spire 24/7.
Kill orthus, 40m a kill.
I prefer defending invaded ports. They may yield less credit/h, but it gives youu material, and can be done in solo.
@@Neo-vz8nh materials? Color me interested. What kind of materials are we talking about?
@@BarbequequeYou do kill Cyclops/Basilisk (or even Hydra) misisons, and they give G5 materials as a reward.
Yeah the flight in really is the low point. Thermal vent can be a game changer.
Watching this video so I can attack Cocijo tomorrow!
Good tutorial, though I already learn some of the knowledge in a hard way.
Is this guide still valid, or has anything changed in the meantime?
Earth calls me to aid. Cocijo must fall
Man its dam shame they stopped updates for this game on ps
this would be fun if it wasn't for needing engineering for performance
5995 hours space trucking in elite dangerous and ignoring anything else.
Side note that was super useful though sorry for slagging you off
Pretty convenient that the glaives are no longer around!
o7
There is a big problem with your vidéo cmdr. There are so beautiful and "a couper le souffle" like we say in french. And, in this case, I totally miss all the points you're speaking about in the video. I try to watch it a second time, but, again, may attention is catch by the pictures. Nevertheless, watching your vidéo can be a good exercice for a combat pilot to escape the "target fascination".
😂❤️o7
or, here's a thought - why bother if its that much effort. there are way more better things to do in life than watch countless videos on how to play a game
Let humanity burn! I'm definitively sabotaging these thargoid hunters... Long live the bugs!! ☠️
