Cats have the fastest reaction time of all animals at between 0 - 70 milliseconds. That's 0 - 0.07 seconds.
To put this into perspective, blinking your eye takes about 0.1 seconds. So the time it takes you to just close your eyes is typically longer (in some cases much longer) than the time it takes for a cat to react to a threat.
In contrast, the average human reaction time is about 500 milliseconds (0.5 seconds). Only the fastest people can reach an average of about 200 milliseconds.
Considering this, not only are the average cat reflexes 10-15 times faster than humans, but the fastest cats can have an almost zero reaction time, virtually

I moreless agree but with that 0-70 miliseconds you overexaggerated... its more like 20-70 miliseconds or so... having 0 miliseconds reaction time is physically impossible for every living thing without exceptions

I remember once, my cat lurking something under a football sized stone. I aproached and try to figure out what is she lurking. I couldn't see anything. So i lifed slowly one side of the stone expecting something to run out, cat reached in split second and turn a way instantley. I thought... stupid cat, dropped a stone, turn around, called my cat, she turned with mouse in her mouth and looked me in a way... Who's stupid now bitch!

Birds often underestimate the threat when it comes to cats. My neighbour told me he saw their cat catch a swallow mid-air, after it had taunted the cat for quite a while. I guess birds can't help themselves, as I've seen some seagulls and crows taunt eagles too, which must be risky business as well.

I owned a cat for 18 years. I miss her. I remember one day when she was sleeping in the front yard in the middle of the day. I came up to her to pet her. The moment I touched her, she quickly scratched me pretty badly, I might add. I wasn't mad at her, and when she realized it was me, she calmed down. I reassured her that it was just me. But one doesn't realize just how fast cats are. I wasn't able to respond to her quick defense. She was at a dead sleep and woke up attacking. And she was 18 years old at the time. A very old cat. Imagine how much quicker she'd be in her prime..

I don't mean to admonish you anyway, but you have to consider how intelligent cats really are. Obviously, you allowed your cat to go outside. Your cat was on guard because of her surroundings. She thought that she was going to be harmed when she felt your touch. That's instinctive. Try not to ever wake a domesticated animal up, especially when they're in REM.

I have always loved cats! I moved to Puerto Rico 7 years ago from Massachusetts and was heartbroken by the amount of stray animals here! So I am now an unofficial cat rescue( and chicken, dogs, lizards etc) The things that some of these cats have been through, abuse, abandoned, injuries, illness is enough to make a grown own man cry! My hubby can attest to that. But all they have been through they give so much love, loyalty, affection and appreciation not only to me but the new cats we take in❤ Cats are so badass♥️♥️♥️ And I'm grateful I have been lucky to be the human they choose to help them and love them!!!!

Cats and people are very much alike: nothing but a plague for any ecosystem they touch.
They're the species that caused the most extinctions of ecosystem relevant (and not) organisms in the world by a very long shot... both are nature's serial killers and saying some bs like "cats are my fav animal on earth" is like saying "USA is my fav country in the world because of its secular tradition of carpet bombing civilians in the millions".
If that doesn't sound very good to you it's because it shouldn't. Cats are awful, and so is your silly opinion 😅😅

He had a small gray manx cat that was lying flat on his tummy. The manx kitty saw a big horsefly on the ceiling. He watched it move around a bit, then out of the blue that manx kitty leaped straight up, caught the horsefly in his paws, landed holding it a little while, then let it go. The horsefly returned to the ceiling and this manx kitty did that several times in a row, playing with that horsefly....and the ceiling was 8 feet high!!! Cats are unbelievable sometimes with the things they can do!❤

They put snakes to shame. Love cats. Always have. You treat a cat right then you know loyalty. Not like dogs. Dogs are the most loyal. But for quality loyalty cats can be very territorial over you. Love with no end. If you treat them right. It’s so much more earned than with a dog. But you see the abilities and brain. Such a great species and right down to domestics apex predators.

Exactly. Growing up with dogs, I thought they are clingy. Until we adopted kitties, and wow, the loyalty. I mean, my cats wait for me right outside the gate. Unlike our dogs, well, they're sleeping somewhere. 😂 Not only that, they like to meow-scold me when I arrive late.

    • @John-qn2fd
      @John-qn2fd 2 месяца назад

I don't agree. If someone else feeds your cat then they'll go to them
. Theyre nowhere near as loyal as a dog. And cats in general can't be trained like a dog can to come back.
My neighbour has lost 3 cats due to this. And my sister has lost 2. Theyve manage to get them back but every single one of them have disappeared again. My neighbour is having the same problem with the cat she has just now cause he's the friendliest cat ever. Hes got identity issues. I'm sure he thinks he's a dog. He's the ONLY cat my old amstaff didn't want to tare to bits. They actually sat together.
