@@akifiskandar4186 That is the problem when legacy carriers behave like LCC. They are two different markets catering to two different types of passengers. Despite all the hype about LCC, legacy carriers are still thriving, provided they are managed well & services are top notch. In fact LCC fares are not that very much cheaper than legacy when you add up the baggage & food. On short haul flights up to 2-3 hours, I do agree legacy carriers may find it difficult to compete with LCC but beyond that, legacy carriers still have a place in the market.

This is a very cheap looking product aesthetically, and functionally when various other airlines are putting revolutionary (JetBlue, SQ, QR) lie flat seats, or at least fairly premium J seats (CX) in single aisle aircraft.
And yes, MH use these 737s for a lot of longer routes including overnighters from South Asia to KL, so a proper international product is probably warranted.
Meanwhile economy - once again a bland seat with no adjustable headrest.
Certainly a below-par hard product compared with several other airlines within its own OW alliance. Disappointing if you ask me.

I know that we are going towards sustainable living (yes, we should), but it doesnt mean that we have to go and make it look soooo cheap. The colour is bland, tak ceria langsung, i cant even tell the batik motive on seats, not until the narrator mention it.
Please lah, other airlines dah maju ke depan and this is sooo many steps backwards!

I love MH and have been flying with them for the past 16 years and this to me and many others is a downgrade. When other premium airlines are actively fitting screens on their narrowbody jets, MH is removing them? Why choose between your own device and a laggy IFE when you could have a responsive 4K PTV screen which is becoming standard on many other premium airlines. With the screens now gone, MH ain't that different to Air Asia, except of course our exceptional award winning cabin crew, but better crew doesn't justify a ticket almost twice as expensive. This new cabin is a joke

@@brandonfu9308 and my fav salty peanuts. Those premium airlines who claims to up their ante are loss making airlines. I do not mind using my own device to watch movies for flight within 30 mins to 3 hours max ( domestic and ASEAN) . I do not mind also flying with no flat bed for the destination below 3 hours radius. Plus, my experiences told me I will be sleeping through out my flight anyway. Almost everyone has smart phones ( if they can afford flying premium airlines ) vs LCC and using own device is kinda personalized choice. My device, my way. Plus, it is good way for MAS to understand their customers better ( to "track " which sites, what movies, what gifts ) to enhance the choices. Lighter flights, sustainable flights, with the hope the benefits will be passed to us, passengers through better pricing, better revenue per passenger, better costing, better services, better cost structure ( at least less IFE maintenance ) . Who said, lesser does not equal to premium ? Let MAS prove it !!!

Boss, seat MAS downgrade ni, klu flight 2 jam, jem taktahu nk buat apa.. i ada enrich member, mmg frequent flyer bwk anak2 enjoy naik MAS.. dlu ada tv blkng seat, skrg takde tv, ni bising anak2 i ni nnti takde entertainment.. baik naik Air Asia klu mcmni.. downgrade teruk MAS skrg ni.. management mse planning nk beli MAX 8 ni tak fikir ke, customer willing to pay more in order to get seat with joy n comfort.. flight above 2 hours kna ada entertainment, below 1 hour flight maybe acceptable lagi klu takde tv.. apa komen dan pandangan psl hal ni? Reason yg really buat i takkan naik air asia adalah because of foods n entertainment.. of couse beli Max 8 jimat minyak, tp dlm cabin kna 5 star la jgn buat mcm low cost airline.. takkan la tv blkg seat blh reduce weight, does not even make any sense, hbs A350 A330 cmna? Blh plk ada tv blkg seat?

J class seat looks more to PreEco. 1-2 hour without IFE, sound OK, but I'm not fine looking at my small phone for movie when travel to Bali or Manila.(not to say any lag during the real flt) Everything looks simple yet luxurious, but still lacking too many things. After all, why MH can't put that headrest on their Y class seat? Sorry to say, nothing much to fancy here. Seriously, MH must hire the right person to do work. Nah

tbh no more IFE isn't that big of a deal, most tablets you can get quite cheap nowadays, cheapest new iPad is about 1.4k, even cheaper if android or older models. And the older model tablets 99% of the time have better screens than the IFE screens. a lot of Western Airlines have started removing their IFEs since 5 years ago. and if on board wifi fails, well you kids can always try reading a book like the good old days...lol
