- After a journey of over 21 flight hours, our new 737-8 landed on home soil in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It was a monumental event, as we celebrated the latest addition to our family.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional, dedicated pilots, engineers, delivery and video team for safely guiding this aircraft back home. Thank you for playing a key role in this historic event.

I hate B737 but love that livery. I feel like our Jalur Gemilang is the perfect flag to be used as aircraft livery. Great job, Malaysia Airlines!
true b737- 8 /8pp max have problem actually but maybe malaysia we use newly parts.

Recently took a trip on MAS. The food has actually gotten slightly better. Glad MAS took the right decision to severe relations with the old time flight catering. The A330-300 was dated. The touch screens were already insensitive. Nevertheless, the cabin crew were helpful and pleasant as always. Hope MAS has really improved. Time for KLIA to improve.

MAS was one of the active and leading players in the Asian market years ago. Have not seen too many MAS planes at major airports around the world. I hope MAS will return to its glorious days.

737 Max 8 is great but if their main usage is for short haul (less than 3 hours flight) maybe it is better to get like A220-300 because they are more efficient for it; also good for passengers due to inherently wider seat thanks to 3-2 configuration.
Yeah there is an issue with P&W engine and need retrain everyone but more airlines are opting for A220-300 nowadays for short haul

The cabin interior suits more for firefly than a full service carrier. Competition is tough, therefore hard product needs to be on par with other full service carriers.
hope the seats have a good enough gap for passengers. If similar to MyAirline's gap, would be a plus point!

this is the same model for the tragedy of lion & etiophia air... 737max8 airframe wasnt designed to fit it that engine.. why MAS still made this decision instead of going for a320...

MH should go all Airbus fleet. Change to A320 for short haul aircraft.
You know that will cost a lot of money, right? It's not just getting the aircraft but the CRM training and also the training for the aircraft as well. Not an easy feat. Plus, we have a lot of 737-8 pending for delivery. Not to mention the, A339X is coming as well next year to replace the aging A333.

its a MAX 8 though... not a 737 8...? (and for everyone who is going to correct me & say its a 737 MAX 8, that is still a 738: the ICAO code for the Boeing 737 800 is 738 & because of that is is a 737 MAX 8 not a 737 800.
737-8 without 00. That's the model number/full name of the aircraft registered on the airworthiness certificate since the beginning. MAX is just its marketing name, but since the previous MCAS problem was fixed, many airlines decided to drop the MAX name to avoid bad publicity on the media. Same as NG model. There is no NG written in the aircraft full name on the airworthiness certificate. Just 737-800. The Next Generation is just a marketing name given by Boeing to the NG models.
Wonderful. B737 Max 8. Same aircraft type of the 2 Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines crashes. I hope Boeing did a good job on the software improvement. Fixing a new big powerful engine to a 1960s airframe design, using software to counteract pitch up because the big engine has to be placed more forward. Brilliant job Boeing, after 346 people died then forced to update software

Malaysia airline should improved on their service toward custumer . Service not like 20 yrs ago.. Sour face, no more sweet smilling, food so bad. Even air asia is much better to compared.

The livery is too 'heavy' for me. I like it to be minimalist like Japan Airlines livery which minimal, simple and elegant.

What a shame that MH has decided to buy the cynically named 737 dash 8. Boeing can’t even say that it is a MAX any more, because of its poor reputation. I fly a lot in se Asia and up to now would use MH. With their purchase of the flying coffin I’ll be flying alternative airlines that don’t use the flying coffin.

Risky move with this 737 max series.yeah right better engine..with 2 crashes..20 month being grounded now with the alaska airline grounding all their 65 fleet i will avoid malaysia airline because of this.
