Volquartsen is one stand up company. I have only good things to say about them. I bought a product of theirs for my Ruger 10/22 a while back, and I was having some issues installing it. I thought it was issues with the Volquartsen product, so I contacted them and they promptly sent out another. When I received the new one, I was still having issues with it, so I contacted them again. So they sent another. Right after they mailed the 2nd one, I realized that the problem was with the 10/22 and not Volquartsen's product. They treated me like a king and I can only reccomend them. I appreciated what they did soo much, it was really darn cool of them to sent me 2 more products, no questions asked. I felt absolutely terrible for this whole situation. I feel the only way I can pay them back is to show them the love they showed me and recommend their product. Their products are top notch!
Loved your ethical devotion to diplomacy... You would not allow yourself to say that shooters with an 'Average skill-set' may have problems with the 3" barrel. LOVED watching you shoot. You and Hickok are now two of my favorite RUclips 'pew-pew' channels. Just discovered your channel and subscribed.
Been following you for quite some time enjoy your videos. Other day at Walmart I spotted 2 boxes of CCI mini mag in the 100 round boxes in an otherwise empty ammo case. I must have guarded that case for 10 minutes before an associate finally came by. You get to have all the fun!!! Oh well, I realize it's a tough job but someone has to do it!!
Very cool! Volquartsen is top notch quality. I've built several MK series with their frames and bolts. Mainly opt for TacSol Pac-lite receivers. Going to look further into the mini mamba.
Thanks to 22 plinkster for good videos, also for being a good role model to our young shooters. Gentlemen and good men & women are what is holding our heritage outdoor sports together. God bless you and your family and thanks for being a good man( and a great shoot). Keep it up and stay safe & healthy 👍🇺🇸🙊🙈🙉
I rebuilt my Ruger Mk 2 Gov't moel...8nin bbl...with all Volquartsen internals back ca 1994 or so...nice smooth & lite trigger pull...put a B-Square scope mount on it along with a Tasco red dot...used it originally for bowling pin head shooting competitions..excellent stuff...
I want to thank you for your channel, it inspired me to get back to 22lr shooting. I just watched your video about CF and it touched my heart. My wife passed from CF in October 2017. Thank you for what you do to inspire more shooters out there. Can you do a video on a CZ 457? I have a new thumb hole setup and curious as to what you think of it. Thank you again.
Being in a country that's against shooting sports, and lacking the capital to pursue them, I gotta say I appreciate you using that ammo for us to watch.
Well, this explains why they would not cut my barrel down when I ordered my regular black mamba last year, despite advertising those same services on their website. Hey! Let's just get them to buy another pistol at 1400 in 6 months when we release the mini! Does the mini also sound like a babby rattle when you shake it? Whew! I feel so much better after typing that out! It's almost a cure to buyer's remorse. BTW, I still like the pistol despite all of that. :p
Ruger's pistols sound like maracas when you shake them, so I guess a simulation of a Ruger should as well. Weirdly, my Ruger all-metal Mark IV Target (with Voquartzen Accurizing kit) makes no sound when shaked (or even, stirred). It's a distributor custom version with black anodized aluminum lower.
Bought a volquartsen extractor for my 10/22. Wouldn’t eject reliably. I called them up and they sent me another for free and haven’t had any issues since👍
Great video. Question. What are your thoughts of mounting the Red Dot to the rear where the rear sight mounts? Is it more accurate or easier for target accusition were you have it mounted on the picatinny rail or to the rear? Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.
So, I've got a Tacsol Upper on my old Ruger MK II. I use a Gemtech Outback IID. I recently swapped the stock trigger for a Volquartsen, and I'm getting some FTFeed issues with lighter (subsonic) ammo. I'm not sure what I've done. Any suggestions? Also, Plinkster, what do you recommend for a good, budget-friendly Red Dot Reflex sight for this setup? Do you like that little Crimson Trace that you've got on your Mini Mamba?
Cool thing about a 3" barrel is you have more subsonic ammo available than you do with a longer barrel since ~1200fps - ~1250fps rated ammo out of a rifle should exit this barrel around under the transonic barrier of ~1130fps.
For your next rifle review you should do the Ruger American Rimfire Long Range Target. From what I can tell it is a pretty accurate budget precision rifle.
The mini mamba with a dot sight and the full size (4.5in) with a pistol scope. Talk about putting the challenge back into "ground squirrelling". A fun challenge, for sure.
Back in the 1970s there was a 45cal. fully automatic select fire (three rounds full auto) pistol out of South Africa called the Black Mamba. This gun was so fast that it could at full auto put 3 rounds into a 3in. circle at a ridiculous distance. (i don't remember it was a long time ago) And at a rate of well over 1000 rounds per min. (if not limited at 3 rounds per trigger pull) (again I don't remember the actual rate) Based on the standard 1911 action but pushed to its limit. I believe that it actually had a few less parts and was made entirely of 440 steelSo a little heavy which helped its recoil in full auto. Don't know what happen to it I've never heard of it sense then. At the time I read about it in an old Soldier of Fortune. And I believe it was long rounds and not ACP. Put I could be wrong again and it was ACP. Would make more sense because it was handle clip feed,.
Plinkster...I have a Ruger MK IV Target with the 5 1/2” barrel. Can you recommend a good set of sights? I need something more visible, especially on the front.....
Of course he can shoot the gun legally without a suppressor on it, there are no minimum barrel length restrictions on pistols. A snub nose 38 has a barrel length of about 2 and a 1/4 inches and a 38 Derringer has a barrel length as short as 1 and 1/2 inches. Perhaps the above commenter is confused because on a integrity suppressed rifle, the total barrel length includes the suppressor. So in that case, yes, removing the silencer COULD make the weapon illegal if you do not have a short barrel rifle (SBR) stamp. However, this is a pistol, not a rifle and yes, I was extremely frustrated that we didn't get a comparison between suppressed and unsuppressed.
@@aaronho4242 I was commenting to a now deleted comment, in which someone referred to it being illegal to fire "MINI MAMBA" without the silencer on it. The two comments above mine were also in regard to that now deleted post.
Apparently there are a lot of Mark IV owners here so I have a question. I bought a first production of the Ruger Mark IV and went straight to the range. Cleaned it up and had my first bad experience. I couldn’t get it on paper at 10 yards until I discovered the rear sight was loose. Tightened it up and after a few rounds it was loose again and after another tightening I checked the front sight and it was loose too. Went home to lock tight everything and noticed that he pin on the frame just under the bolt grip was backed out about an eighth of an inch. After many, many tries to stabilize all those issues I sold it in disgust. We’re those just first edition bugs? Anyone else have those problems. Should I try one again???
Mini mamba. Yeah cool plunked! But where are your new videos? If it’s to cold for you to work down there in Tennessee send me a few cases of that there CCI standard and I’ll make a few videos for you to post. Just go in the back of the safe and review some old Remington or marlin squirrel rifles. Just busting on you , keep the vids coming and go to work
people are saying unreliable 22lr.... 😂 only when I don't clean the pistol. M&P15-22, m&p 22 compact, taurus tx22, and I haven't shot my 10-22 since I got the 15-22.

Those musical targets are freakin sweet Louis!
I'm waiting for someone to perform an entire piece of music using nothing but those targets lol
I don’t like the polymer frame for 1300.00 bucks

I love the musical steel plates! "Do Re Mi Fo So La Ti Do" 😁 I never seen that before, cool👍🏾
Thanks!
I never knew that I needed a supressed 22 and a "musical target" until this video
That is one my favorite saying from you. “Minute of squirrel.” 🤣
Rhymes with minute of liberal. Lol. Kidding.

The smile is borderline uncontrollable on your face. You are child level happy with these guns.
What can I say, it's my job and I love it...wow. Thanks for bringing some fun into the lockdown
As usual, another wonderfully informative video. I really enjoy watching your videos brother. Thank you.
Very nice pistol. The High Standard pistol is also a fantastic supressor host. The barrel swaps in seconds.
Man the pain !!! 22s going down sooooo fast...LOL
Nice, God Bless ( us all )
Absolutely need to have this.
Can't wait to hear the MSRP. I'm going to guess $1495.
Personally I'd go for a PSD BRNO for the $.
$1465.00... I just checked. Lmao
But Keltec is soo much better.

No you ain't worried about ammo I remember seeing that picture of the whole pallet that you got in. 😂
Thats really nice. Even without the can it looks sick too.
"Slicker than snot on a door knob" yup going to remember that one for the rest of my life.

Very nice addition for sure, but for me I would prefer the. 4 1/2 inch version...hope to have one some day, maybe when ammo is readily available.
Does the shorter barrel make it louder than the standard pistol when suppressed or will it be just as quiet?
Nice little plinker.. All though a 3" pipe in a .22LR makes pretty much all .22LR ammo subsonic so..
Cool thing about a 3" barrel is you have more subsonic ammo available than you do with a longer barrel since ~1200fps - ~1250fps rated ammo out of a rifle should exit this barrel around under the transonic barrier of ~1130fps.
Now does that factor in the length of the suppressor it'll be used with? Serious question.
Good time to buy one now that the mortgage rates are low
"Slick as snot on a door knob" ... I love it!!! ❤️
That's very nice, almost as nice as my threaded BOBCAT. good review.
The bobcat is arguable more fun to shoot as well!!
🤠👍
HOLY bear droppings! This guy is better with a pistol than I ever was with a rifle!
That’s sweet! Nice job on your video, I’m gonna check the price on one!
Love my 6" black mamba. Works awesome for steel Challange.
with standard velocity and with hi-velocity, CCI, what is the muzzle velocity from that 3" barrel?
Looks so cool would love to get my hands on one

just called the "Mamba Pistol" on wikipedia. only reached a prototype apparently, and the cyclic rate was 1800 rpm
What a piece of beauty ... love, love, love that pistol!!
hey I'll be waiting for the new tx22 competition review, been looking for a 22 that I can put a dot on, without dovetail mounting it.
Where did you get your magazine holder on your belt ? Keep up the great work
What mag carrier is that and any other 22lr mags fit?

YES.

What size plates do you need to play the scale?
How does it compare (aside from grip angle) to a Mark IV Tactical?

Which suppressor are you running on the mini-Mamba there?
These are beautiful and I really want one now, like if I’m getting a .22 pistol that’s what I’m getting
Did I hear some musical steel targets in the beginning? Ok, where do I find those?
What suppressor are you running on that Mini Mamba?
Love the small size. Great shootin!
Will the mini mamba upper fit on my Mark iv lower?
I have a mark II. Do they have any uppers for those... volquartsen that is
My Mark III receiver weighs 1 pound 3 ounces. The Volquartsen site says theirs weighs one pound. Does that sound right?
Wonder if you can get that in Canada.
Without the suppressor, of course...
That's a sweet little blaster
When will the semi auto 17wsm come back out from Volquartsen? Or is that dead in the water?
How about that mag holster, what and where is that from?
is there accuracy differences between each size barrel.

It does look pretty slick.
3" BBL doesn't need factory subs. Regular supersonic HV will shoot subsonic out of a 3" BBL. Although factory subs will be a bit quieter.
