I never weary of watching Maangji! Tasty dishes, clear preparation instructions, easy to understand language, and a beautiful person, plus a smile and a chuckle.
You"re instructions and explanations are "very" clear. It appears that you have assisted "experimental" cooks to become not only "cooks," but "very good" cooks. Also, your explanation of what is traditional is outstanding. Thank you very much.
Hi I am from India and taro in India we use leaves to make different dishes. We make taro's sabji in Indian style .it's also very tasty but soup in ur style is going to try. We called it arbi or in marathi leaves are called by the name dhopa
Yay Maangchi, you are the best! 20 years ago an American would never have the recipes available on your channel. Thumb up & I'm a long time subscriber.
In Vietnam, we have a dish that is nearly identical! It's one of my absolute favourite soups. Next time, I will try it with the perilla seeds powder :)
Hi Maangchi! Thanks for another great recipe! My mom is from Taigu and although she's tried to teach me all the delicious Korean recipes, I forget sometimes! Your videos have been a great help!
in Haiti we make a popular fritter call Acra with Taro, we grate it and add garlic , chopped parsley, shallots, hot peppers, salt , bit of flour , then we scoop some out and fry it on low heat till it turn golden brown and crispy. love your videos Maanghi!
We cook taro with fish as a curry and it's so good... Mashed taro with raw onion ,green chilli and masterd oil also very delicious.... Thank you Maangchi for sharing this recipe...
I absolutely love taro root! I will definitely try this out when I get a chance. My preferred method of eating taro is by first boiling peeled and cut up taro in water with a teaspoon of turmeric. I don't know why but my mom always had me throw out the first set of water it boiled in and then we would re-add water to bring the root to a boil again. Then when it is tender, we would scoop it out into bowls and we would add yogurt, salt, chili powder, chili slices, finely shredded curry leaves. I love eating it this way and sometimes it would be my meal lol!
I love that you also give the Korean name for the food and an explanation of how the word is made up. I love watching your cooking show and how much you enjoy your own cooked food. I love Korean food. I love eating soups. My birthday is this 15th and I will make this soup. Can't wait to taste this absolutely delicious looking soup. Thank you so much.
l had taro for the first time recently and now I want to use it more. It looks odd but tastes very good. This soup recipe will be my next soup. Thank you for sharing.
I was really looking forward to see your new video! Me and my husband watches your video every night before we sleep for 2years! and some of our favorites we are watching over and over again :) we are your big fan. Love you Maangchi!! :)
Its called 'gabi' here in the philippines. We put in our sour soup called 'sinigang' made with pork or fish.Sometimes we eat it also as a snack, just like sweet potato. I think it's part of the yam family.
Yuuummm! I love taro! Great to find a new way to cook it. And those side dishes look phenomenal. Your videos always leave me craving food I've never even tried before 😍😍
Hey Maangchi and everyone! While my last shopping tour in Asia Supermarket I had a biiig luck. First time that I found Toran and also Garlic Chives. I was so happy and excited. Of course first thing I thought about.. I'm going to get known to the real rase of Toran Guk. The last time I used potatoes, but the difference is amazing. So cremy and soft oh my god, I'm a big fan of Toran really good. 😍
thank you manngchi for your videos. I love all the food you have showed. haven't cooked all of them but I want to. I'd also like to cook and eat a meal with those side dishes you made. they look so good like the bean sprout and cucumber, the young radish greens, spinach and so many others. please show us more dishes and side dishes and other Korean food!
I made this with veggie broth and it was really good, garnished with corn peppers, cayenne and chili/lime ,so yummy..this soup is most flavorful after the second day in my opinion, ty for sharing
Maangchi, I adore how you teach Korean style cooking. You are absolutely adorable and very entertaining :D. Keep it up! I'm soon going to try your Kimchi, as I've never tasted any.
You are the cleanest chef on RUclips, I congratulate you. First, I am going to make soy milk soup....and try to figure out if I can make a vegan broth for this taro soup.

We, here in the Philippines use "taro" too or what we call "gabi". our sinigang dish (sour stew/soup) when cooked with gabi is more delicious, richer, and creamier specially when the gabi starts to dissolve slowly the longer you boil it. gabi alone when cooked is just awesome...
