“What a crowd, what a crowd. I’m alright now but last week I was in rough shape ya know”
I loved it when he used this as an openrr!😂😅😊
bartonpercival2147, Did he go to see Dr. Vinnie Boombatz?
"Teach respect in schools and in a few decades eliminate prejudice.'' I like it. Rodney seems like a sensitive and deep soul.
I think this is the first time I seen Rodney out of character, what a good guy he was.
Younger generations might not understand this, but there was time when people would buy comedy albums and listen to them in their basements over and over and over again to memorize every single nuance to every single joke. Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Redd Foxx, Woody Allen, etc, etc... (my own personal favorite was Emo Philips). Rodney was a king. It took him a long time to perfect his act, but once he did he was seldom matched. As far as I’m concerned, he’s earned the ultimate respect.
EMO! He was shown "no respect" by the average non-understanding audience that he didn't care less for anyway. Judy Tenuta stuck with him always. Also Andy Kaufman was in the same boat with him.Lotta work to at least get some respect
My dad had some old records when i was younger. I listened to them and they are still the best i have heard yet
Yeah I know what you mean I've got a stack of my old dads Marcel Marceau LP's. There were many nights as a child growing up that both him and mum would recite MM's entire act to each other again and again.
Thats cool to know , he did get respect , all comics do
Shouts to George Carlin… check out our videos for stories from his sidekick Fearless Fred Gillespie 😎
This is what you don't stop to think about often: most comedians are extremely sharp and thoughtful people. They play the fool but you won't ever fool them. I respect you Rodney, thank you for the laughs
They should teach respect in school. He wasn’t joking about that.
Parents should be teaching their kids respect. Schools should reinforce that teaching with discipline for those kids that are disrespectful.
I think they might have taken that as "one of his jokes" also and never implemented it.
No he wasn't. Being Jewish, he probably was on the receiving end of a lot of prejudice.
@@ACDC7369 : he wasn't observant...so he wasn't Jewish.....
@@ACDC7369 : and he never referred to his Jewish religion...never...so you're adopting Zionist propaganda talking points re prejudice against Judaism.....please STOP IT!!!!!!
Damn was he thin back then!
Rodney, you are STILL the king! Nothing but respect! R.I.P.
This is the first time I've heard him speak candidly.
He seems soo gentle and eudite, well spoken and shy.
Definately not shy. Lol
Wow that was the first time I've ever seen him actually serious. I knew deep down he was an amazing guy. Man do we miss him and could really need him right now in December of 2022 !
Can't get enough of Rodney! The greatest of all time!
What a wonderful message of hope at the end ✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
No respect Rodney you have all my respect R.I.P thanks for all the years of entertainment
comedy is not the same with out you.
"I was poor. Once on my birthday my old man showed me a picture of a cake...I sat there all day trying to blow out the candles." RIP Mr. D
One of the funniest men who has ever lived!!!
Soupy is a study in himself ... 'think he recognized "Danger Man's" voice right away !
What a great guy 'MR.' Dangerfield was, and he always got my respect. To say Rodney was unique is like saying the sun is hot. There will never be another comedian quite like Rodney. He left very big shoes to fill! RIP The world misses you Rodney.
He just couldn't pull off some other voice 😁
He made it easy and got time to tell some jokes and promos. A totally respectable ham👍
That was awesome! I was twelve years old which is why I don't remember that show. Rodney Dangerfield was definitely the best comedian in my opinion. R.I.P. Sir!
What a genius. If only everyone did treat everyone with respect
Rodney was the greatest of all time
Rodney was great for all of us. RIP RODNEY He was a great man !
Who the hell could thumbs down Rodney Dangerfield?
”In two or three generations we could eliminate prejudice in this country.”
Yeah...
Not with Black Lives Matter. Everything is racist.
invent a problem, offer the solution, enslave the people
and now we see the fruits of their efforts
I Clog Toilets Yep, that’s right, blame the oppressed for the problem. 🙄
@@iclogtoilets3483 That is because so many are racist.
@@hellion7514 there's racists in probably every race....you can't change everyone. I don't want to be racist, but I can't speak for everyone. Not everyone can be helped or heard, either. Just wait it out.
I had two of Richard Pryor's comedy albums and two of Rodney's albums in the early '80s. These albums helped me get through tough times
I so miss and love this guy.
I hope you’re finally getting the respect you deserve.
God love you Rodney.
We miss you…and we need you. ❤️
Great speech by Rodney describing respect!!! He’s missed and I miss the comedy club too!!!
He looks sad on this clip He’s such a beautiful soul
He always had a sad and nervous vibe about him, probably because of everything he'd been through in life. Humor was his means of survival. And he was damn good at it.
He had a VERY rough upbringing. Watch his bio if you got time. He overcame ALOT
Wow, he's always been the best comedian and my all time favorite for life, I'm going the distance now lol.. But God Bless You and what an incredibly beautiful comment to write about him.. XO
He had a rough childhood growing up. Took a lot of shit. Was a victim of sexual assault, as well.
He couldn't mask his voice 😂❤
Ahhh I tell ya what, I didn't have a good childhood either, my parents moved around a lot, yeah, but somehow I always found them.
So the legendary line "No Respect" started with the basement. How wonderfully appropriate.😄
How disappointed he would be at 2020.
It's not our fault they didn't lock down China when someone came down with CV and got everything fucked up forever.
Fuckin A right.
"I tell ya sometimes I can't take it no more" 👌
The thumbs down viewers got no respect.
25 now
Lefties, no doubt.
No, they were all accidents. They meant to vote up the video, of course, but accidentally hit the wrong place. It is the only possible explanation.
Now thumbs down tallies are censored.
😂
Ah....Rodney has my complete respect. America loves Rodney Dangerfield and misses him very much.
Rodney always has my respect !
These clips are super important! I grew up watching Rodney on on cable during the beginning of MTV days....when he played Mallorie Knox's dad in 'Natural Born Killers' in the late 90's, I was hooked... Rodney was one of a kind!
Rodney was a Mystery Guest on the syndicated What’s My Line a few times.
The absolute
best RIP rodney
Still working on that respect for everybody thing. Might take another generation, Rodney. RIP.
Respect
The man was a national treasure.
thank you for posting .......rodney is the best
My Aunt was a playboy bunny back in the day. She dated Rodney before i was born and said he was a good guy
thats real interesting, thanks.
What’s your aunt s name was she ever on a cover?
@@boombapdoom493 "You kidding me, I only dated ugly girls. I remember this one girl, ooooóh was she ugly. She went to go see a plastic surgeon, he added a tail"
Dog wanted him to leave!....Great stuff!
jason60chev “Forget about my dog, it’s my kid I’m worried about. My sons a real wise guy. Last week I took him to Coney Island and asked him if he wanted to go to the crazy house, he told me to save my money we’ll be home soon” I tell ya I get no respect, no respect at all”
I have been a long time fan of Rodney and that was the first time I have seen him talking out of his “character” of the loser
Respect is earned and Rodney has my respect.
Rodney had a very good point about what should be taught in schools...
Reading, Writing, (A)Rithmatic and Respect..!
My all time favorite truly funny comedian/actor
What a golden red tied legend he is .
In 1971 Billboard magazine reported that Rodney Dangerfield 'filmed and recorded TV and radio public service spots for the National Conference of Christians and Jews'. (Sadly, I haven't found either of these, but hope to.) In 1974 Rodney Dangerfield was presented with the Brotherhood Award for 'distinguished service in the field of public relations' by David Hyatt, President of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, at a dinner honouring him for the charity work he had done for the NCCJ. I imagine he might have been rather humbled by this and might have even jokingly commented 'Any more of this and you'll ruin my act!'
they should bring this Gameshow back today
Rodney AND Hawkeye? ❤ This made my day 😎
I had no idea. Rodney was cool fer real. Thanks for posting.
If only, Rodney. If only.
He deserves lot of respect
The best Comedian ever.
That was a great dog joke !! Rodney was the best !!
Ironically,RD was and is among the most respected comedians of all time.
2020 is the year of No Respect!
Put a mask on! 😂
"I tell ya even as a kid i got no respect. When i was lost on the beach and i asked a cop do you think we'll find my parents, and he said i dont know kid theres so many places they could hide" 👌
What a great man. Terrific!
This is as off game as I have ever seen Rodney, and he slayed.
I miss Rodney.
Great video
🤘😪🤘
Rodney
He was so fast so good in the top 5 of all time .
No guarantees. From Dangerfield to Gleason everyone thinks these were overnight successes. We'd never understand the years of hard work and sacrifice.
Teaching respect school was an amazing idea.
Pips in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn is where many got their start!
One of the best!
I love what's my line
Surprised to see Alan Alda here. I’ve never seen Hawkeye on a game show.
He did both What's My Line and its sister show, I've Got a Secret. It's really rare to see M*A*S*H alumni appear on game shows. The only one who ever did them regularly was Jamie Farr.
Awesome! Love Rodney, but Nice to see Alan Alda and Soupy Sales!
Wish Rodney was HERE, in 2021, to talk some Sense to these Folks.
That was a fun show, they should bring it back! Miss you Rodney!
Wow!
That was certainly a side of Rodney that you won't often see.
A legend
1 of 1❗
That's deep
Soupy Sales... wow! oldster73 here Michigan USA.
(from Bolivia)
Respect is the solution to world wide Race Problems
👍
I’ve never seen him shoot like this. I did read that he was a little resentful that people thought he was the dope he portrayed on stage.
Got him fast. He doesn't disguise his voice.
1:54 - Weird edit on this punchline. "2Cars?" was it "He stole 2 cars?" Can't tell.
👌🏻👌🏻
Did you catch that after 3:15
Who could mistake Rodney's NY accent?
My dog has NO RESPECT either. His favorite bone is in my ARM💪👈😁
funny funny guy......
He even signs his name funny
What the hell was wrong with Alan Alda? He couldn't finish a simple question.
That one was a softball for Soupy. Dangerfield never disguised his voice.
I just
Rodneys dream hasn't come true 😔
I'm not kiddin ya know! When I was a kid I was Ugly. When I opened the door at Haloween kids gave me candy!
Was Joanna Johnny Carson's wife ?
1:31 I guess Joanna was more interested in Alan while ignoring Rodney introducing himself. Rather shallow behavior.
😆
Alan had a "Biden Moment" there. 😂
@Proper Joe can't carry Donnie's shoelaces FJB
