Dude, you've got one of the most pleasant voices I've ever heard on a RUclips video...
You should Absolutely be in radio broadcasting. What a radio-voice you have bro!! Seriously, even if you have no experience, you could totally be one of those morning-show personalities on 107.5 or 98.7....any of those. I can't be the only person who's said this to you..right? Also, I'd be willing to bet you likely have a nice singing voice too..? All (compliments) by the way.. Have a great day Ben.

Can’t make this up…. This morning I was reviewing my 1878 Morgan’s and trying to properly label them and then this video came out… crazy. Thanks - you helped me a lot.

Thank you for the lesson and the video. For me, when the variations are so small that you need a loop; it's not worth the effort to collect them. I do like clearer / more obvious varieties such as no motto and the such.

I have always been intrigued about the differences of the early dated reverses of the Morgans.

An easy way for me to tell the difference between the 78 and 79 reverse is the straight or slanted arrow feathers. The 77 Morgans definitely take the cake for number of VAM's.

Hey Ben! I have an interesting variety of the tailfeathers that I never knew existed (until I bought it). VAM 36, 7/4 TF (Strong).

Never knew that 1880 Philly could have 1878 philly reverse, definitely going to check mine again.
Thanks for the video Ben 👍

Only the 1879 S and 1880 CC can have the possibility of an 1878 reverse. 1880 CC with 78 reverse is not uncommon but the 1879 S with 78 reverse is uncommon and has seen its value quite a bit in recent years.

Thank you for the explanation. I have one other question. I just happen to be looking at my morgan’s today and a friend came over and said how could a coin that’s almost 140 years old looks so good? It was a MS 64.
I know the coin was uncirculated, but wondering what is this stored in a bank vault somewhere and only brought out after 100 years? Or was it owned by some rich very early coin collector that protected it from the 1880s onward ? Thx

The 1878 morgan dollar is the only US coin from that year one can buy for less than $100 in Unc condition. Every other coin will cost you hundreds (Indian 1c, $2,50), if not thousands (Shield 5c, $1.00 gold), if not hundreds of thousands of dollars (1878-s 50c.)
    Isn't that amazing?

It took me awhile to figure this out. BTW, aren't they called a major variety rather than a minor variety?

Another diagnostic for the weak vs strong doubled tail feathers is the “weak” has doubled legs on the eagle.

Hi, Ben. So, is reverse over and up or over and down?

Read Merriam Webster circa 69-70 version of inflation, read today’s. There’s a saying in Spanish that can’t b translated: el papel aguanta todo! Indeed

When mint ingravers ingraved a different die for the same year as in 7 or 8 tail feathers was it by accident or on purpose to change the number of tail feathers.?

7/8 Light? And that's the way you like to handle that - handle what? How? 7/8 weak? 7/8, 7/8 strong, sure, and reverse of 1878 and reverse of 1879, okay, I'm with you, but the other stuff...?

What can I do when a Coin store accuses me in public that I have Illegal coins? I am going to prison, Daniel Carr. I was not selling them I was buying Gold and was just let him look at my coins.
