My dad used to have a pet turkey! He was the man! He would follow you around the yard like a dog. He also sounded like Brainy from Hey Arnold with his wheezing 😂
I had a group of six that followed me everywhere including the mom turkey.. I added extra feed for them at a bird feeder. Then one day after several months, they disappeared. There are wild turkeys everywhere, but a year later and 3 miles away I saw a group of six turkeys. On a hunch I went out to greet them and they flocked all around me pulling at my shirt tails per usual. 😊 of course I gave them some feed.
If this isn’t the cutest and funniest thing…😂😂. Thank you both, for saving and raising them! They really wouldn’t know what to do without you all…sooo sweet!!!
I agree it’s so hard when I have to hunt them for food deep in the woods I get so close to them over the year then I gotta pick a few to feed to my family it’s really hard
Well, the skirt’s definitely creative. Also, I love the bond he has with his feather sons, even if they can be brats. Reminds me of the wild turkeys that showed up at my place a few years back.
Awesome video! I just love "No" and "Stop It". Also the hoop skirt. So great to know there are such wonderful people out there...making life better for animals.
God, i love these folks and their special turkey friends. Glad to get some more footage of their unique relationship. I still think they deserve their own TV show, or at least a web series.
Ha ha ha ha ha! That hoop skirt!!! Only a very secure real man can pull that off! I'm dying! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 No & Stop It. The dog is probably named 'Git'. 😂😂😂😂😂 This is so funny. They are adorable. This is a very hen pecked man, ha ha ha!
The turkeys like a chill, softer spoken person...Im sure they get all they need from him. I find it hilarious they want to travel with him too....He has a way with animals, and the animals know it.
Tooooooo cute!!!!! Every relationship has its levels and this one is just perfect!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I love love love farm life. We have about 20 pygmy goats, 30 + birds, 4 dogs, 4 cats, 5 1000 gallon koi fish ponds, 3 snacks, and 4 fish tanks full of fishes… full household over here and every animals has their own way of messing me with too. ❤❤❤❤
I can’t decide who I love more the turkeys or dad this story is adorable 🥰 ironically in my small town we have these two wild turkeys named thelma and Louise they actually have their own Facebook page lol and pretty much they run our area when they are out and about lol like traffic stops when the are out walking about😆 and we are very careful to drive around them.
This is the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time! Absolutely love it! Those turkeys are just precious and I’m so glad they have such a wonderful life.
You sound like my dad before he got sick--just adored drumsticks. His heath is good now thankfully and he hasn't had any meat or much dairy in over a year. Anyway have a great weekend
"I'm gonna need therapy, honey~ !" Man I felt that😂😂 This is hilarious and wholesome at the same time lol. The title does not lie either. They indeed love being in his close proximity😆
No and Stop It are great names! Nothing like having turkey ‘kids’. Enjoy them in good health. Even though they pick on dad they still love him. It’s beautiful to see.
Your extremely lucky to have them,I have a lot of wild turkeys on my land but they can see a knats ass at a 100 yards so I see them occasionally but they prefer not to be seen. Great video and love your turkeys 😊
Glen wearing the hoop skirt was too much!! it was just so hilarious. these beautiful turkeys know that they are safe with you. just enjoy this special relationship with them. love their names too!! LOL.
Turkeys are so vocal. Basically the huskies of birds. They always have something to say, and I think the sounds they make are so adorable. Once I hung out with some turkeys at a sanctuary and stopped eating turkeys that day. The meat is boring anyway.
PBS did a special on this. Not this man but another man. It was fascinating! He could do their calls but in the end they all left and went on with their turkey lives. ♥️
Did you know, turkeys actually show how they feel by the color of their skin around their neck! Blue is happy or content, red is mad or agitated and white is usually just relaxed or indifferent.
You sound like my dad before he got sick--loved a drumstick. He's doing better now thankfully and hasn't had meat or much dairy in over a year. Anyway have a good weekend
I have memories as a kid of my great uncle (my grandfather's brother) having a farm and he had this absolutely beast of a turkey that hands-down ruled the entire farm. I'm not exaggerating, this Godzilla-bird was at least 3 feet tall (I'm thinking slightly more), and was super chonky, probably weighing no less than 60 lbs and probably pushing closer to 65-70. Boy was THICC! There were farm dogs and bulls that would go out of their way to avoid this bird (appropriately named Tom, of course.) This was back in the early-to-mid '70s, and I wish I had pictures. Tragically, someone had pulled into the farm one day and claimed they didn't see Tom (how you miss a turkey the size of a small pony I can't even fathom) and broke his legs, so had to be put down. Not being wasteful, Uncle Vern cooked him and ate him (that's life on a working farm, you don't get too attached to things that may wind up becoming dinner some day.)
@@geraldinenolan6312 If it's any comfort, I think Tom would have reveled in the fact that he could not be tamed by man nor beast, but could only be bested by a Buick. He would have wanted it that way.
@@loumason6120 You guys? I didn't eat him, my great uncle's family did. But even if I had, I wouldn't be averse to it. People have been domesticating animals for food for thousands of years. What would have been worse in my uncle's eyes was to let a 60+ pound turkey go to waste and just chuck him in a hole somewhere. I get that many people are against the consumption of meat and dairy, and good on them for it. But at the same time, eating meat is a normal and even necessary part of life for many folks. Back in the 70's you couldn't just go to Whole Foods and get Tofurkey, it wasn't a thing! Being a vegetarian back then was a whole different thing than it is today. And again, this relative worked a farm for a living his whole life. Raising livestock was his business. It paid the bills and literally put food on the table. Whatever faults he may have had, this wasn't one of them.
I've known some guys who blamed Wild Turkey for their yelling, not getting their work done, and dressing STRANGE (but in a hoop skirt?). But I just assumed they meant the kind that came in a bottle!
I love the names the viewers gave the turkeys. So funny 😂
It fits their personalities.

There's awesome people in this World just takes an animal to bring them out!!!!❤
