Not really, provided the animal healthy and the ends can be mated together most fractures will heal. You can get fractures that point blank refuse but that's usually either if they've fractured at a previous fracture point or there's other health issues.
Oddly enough in humans it takes a lot more relative force to break a child's arm than an adults, because there is a lot of collagen in the childs arm which makes the bone bendy.. The downside is the skull sutures haven't closed so a head injury much worse in a kid than an adult.

@@rosiehawtrey in my previous experience working with a wildlife rescue center that hasn’t always been the case. I admit I’m no expert, but I’ve seen birds with injuries like that never make it back to the wild, so I personally find it impressive.

Everyone who likes working with animals will never blame the animal if this happens. They have strong instincts and even when they try to be careful, they can still hurt by accident. The only thing I have to criticize is that they prevented her from getting comfortable in the situation. If they had tried to at least have one caretaker who she trusted, she'd been less scared, confused and probably also avoided some rough handling.

My father was a veterinarian in Sparks, Nevada and the chosen vet for the Nevada Fish & Game. We were brought a golden eagle which also had a broken wing. I was in Jr. High School and missed the surgery but worked in the hospital after school to feed and care for the animals. When you would approach the eagle in the cage he would rock back and spread his talons as if to say, "Go ahead and reach in. I've go a surprise waiting for you." Eagles are such beautiful and majestic birds of pray - also called raptors for a good reason. The eagle was with us for a week before taken by the Fish & Game to a sanctuary. It was released back into the Nevada desert where it had been wounded and it was reported to be seen many days hence. I really enjoyed this story because in a small way I lived it.

An eagle landed about 15 feet away from me while sitting at my regular river spot. I see them regularly since I live in WA state, but this hit me different. We looked at each other, acknowledged each others presence. And with not an ounce of fear this majestic creature took 3 flaps and soared off. The sound of the feathers disrupting the air was unreal. I'm honored to be a native American and have the opportunity to help wildlife when I was younger. Also, the best thing ever is when the wild animal tries to fight you. It's a sign they are ready to go home. 👍 Remember wildlife belongs to the earth they deserve to live here as much as we do. Just here to say unless it was a minnow or the eagle was a cormorant the bird carried the fish in it's talons. It would be idiocy for an eagle swooping at that speed into water to stick it's head in, that's why their legs are that powerful and non-booted is to break the water tension and grab the fish without changing trajectory.

After all the eagles big enough it could carry two small ducks as parasite fighters. Methinks a little too much redneck petrol, either that or a newbie that just blasted away at anything with feathers.. At least they had the honesty to get the bird in a safe place and treated, and I do *not* envy them trying to pick it up and get it boxed.

A bird of this majesty is something you will never forget. I encountered one of this eagles over fifty years ago and my position to it was driving over a mountain road looking down at a river and this eagle come flying below me with such a wing spread it frightened me. You never forget an encounter such as this. A glorious species.

    Beautiful! ❤️
I volunteer for a wild bird rescue, and I've held a female Bald Eagle while a clinic supervisor worked on her. She was STRONG! My arms were sore for 2 days! I've also had the pleasure of cleaning and feeding eagles in their flight cages when they are on the mend. Eagles are amazing, birds are amazing, nature is amazing!! 🦅🦅❤️

"Accidentally shot by a duck hunter." How the hell do you mistake a Bald Eagle for a duck? Well done to everyone getting her back in to the wild.

@@Nebelung8 You do understand ( duck hunters) just don't shoot, kill & throw away..they eat these birds just as doves, quail etc, you must not eat any meat & think your opinion is superior to others..do you eat chicken ? I would love to hear your ignorant answer on how that's ok compared to wild animals 🇺🇲🦅🌍⚓ USMC

Eagles also go after ducks. The eagle was probably downrange from the ducks. Good on the duck hunters for bringing the bird in.

@@bruce9648 Are you really mixing wild animals with raised animals for human use? "you must not eat any.." jesus, the guy on top was right about the excuses.

@@bruce9648 I have no problem with killing for food but if it was really for food they just buy one at the grocery store, they clearly do it because they enjoy it and that is sick in my opinion. And yeah I do like chicken.
