  • Also a bit of comparison between the 300 series and the Bosch Integra Ascenta.
9-1-2013 - UPDATE - The dishwasher is down. After just a few weeks, I have a no power, no-lights situation, with it randomly starting on its own every now and then. Repair scheduled for tomorrow under warranty. UPDATE - 10-5-2013 - Back up again after replacement of the main control board. Glad it has a 5 year warranty on electronics.

I love the sound of Bosch dishwashers. I wish I had one. I have a Kenmore dishwasher by Bosch and it does a great job of washing my dishes.

The old one was a FrigidAir - about 9 years old. Still love (ok, can you really use that word with a dishwasher?) the Bosch. Quiet, cleans well, efficient, well constructed and engineered. So far.

I think both would work fine. I like the ease and flexibility of a hose.

(Dave here) I forgot to turn off the power. The combination of the leaking water from my old dish washer and the 110 volt was a bit too much so my installation was delayed by a week until I returned from the burn unit at the hospital. It also thru a wrench into my pace, maker.
Back on the floor with my flash lite nd the power off I forgot about my son's 12 foot Python which was out of the cage. Just as I was connecting the electrical the python latched onto my leg. When I screamed the family dog leapt into "save Dad " function and grabbed the python yanking it across the kitchen floor. I grabbed onto the dishwasher and ripped the Waterhouse connection out. Water was spewing all over the place, the python finally let go and went for the dog. My wife got confused and through the breaker on. I'm back in the hospital and the dog is at the vets. Who knows where the python ended up? I now pay a student to wash the dishes after school.

Kate Barber I should probably put a warning on the video to carefully check for snakes before performing any maintenance.

Great video Matt, I'm going with a do-it-yourself install. So Dave! Despite the incident occurring over 2 years ago, how is your pacemaker doing? Did you ever find the python... Thanks for sharing that unbelievable story! Jim

I see you used a braided supply hose, any opinions versus soft copper

Thanks for the video and the install steps. I might just try to install this myself versus paying them to do it.
What was the hardest part of the install???

Good question. If you are replacing an older dishwasher, then electricity and water will be there. If it is a new install, that part is tough. Just make sure it doesn't leak before you put it together, and whatever you do, make triple sure the power is off before you do anything.
