    MICHAEL IS BACK BABY!
Man you have no idea how long I’ve waited to see some Goosebumps reviews again!
As for the book, I thought this one had refreshing aspects for the modern books. But it’s mostly kinda mediocre in delivery. There’s some inconsistencies and logical mishaps like normal flawed ones, but the ending and revelations and all that I low key dig, probably more than most people. For bizarre reasons but without spoiling, I kind like the twist for the change of pace with parents.
Other than that, I’m with you here. I gave it a 3 point something out of 5. I only remember the ending and the setup to it but forget the mid portion of it by now lol.
Great review Michael can’t wait for Friiight Night’s review!

Thanks for watching, bud! I agree, I don’t see a ton of reviews, lately, which is a bummer. BD still does them, and Dummies does, as well, but not super often, to my knowledge hahah.
I think you forgot the middle of this book because practically nothing happened throughout the story, after that setup 😂 I was enjoying it, though, for the most part. Not a horrible filler read, for the most part.
Hoping Fright Night will be better lol.
Thanks for being here, man! God bless!

Glad to see you back! This book was just okay… it was entertaining but not great. I haven’t read Friiight Night or Scariest. Book. Ever. yet. I will read them soon though since you’ll be having reviews soon. Cameron Chaney’s new book Autumncrow High: Fresh Hell just came out and I plan on reading that this weekend before I get to any Goosebumps lol. Nice review, and see ya soon! God bless!

When the world needed them most, they returned.
I basically agree. I was hyped with the idea and it was fine for most of it, but it spins its wheels and the ending drops the ball. I like the idea of it but it felt rushed to me, it's just wonky. It's basically a mid/fine book through and through, when it could have been more.
The final one Friiight Night is actually pretty good tho. I've read Scariest Book Ever and it was good to, if not hugely so lol.

I could get the perspective of someone with that hobby, man. I think it was decent, most of the time, I just think the bad ending really ruined a mediocre book that I could’ve been gone with just calling “fine” hahah.

God those Slappyworld covers just look so....bombastic. Goosebump covers should be more ominous and creepy than loud, colorful and in your face like some of those Slappyworld covers. ANYWAY nice review Mike, you've got a real talent for being in front of the camera. Im jealous---Cant wait to get to House of Shivers!

    • @michaelgoosebumpsfan9934
      @michaelgoosebumpsfan9934  11 месяцев назад +1

That’s a fair complaint, man, and I get why most people feel that way hahah. Overall, I really like and appreciate the style of these over something like the HorrorLand covers, or the later GYG covers, that look like computer art hahah.
Thanks for watching, man! Just remember that I’ve been recording videos like this for over ten years, over the many channels I’ve made and deleted hahah. Practice will get you somewhere, if you aren’t comfortable on camera, yet. Just hang in there, and let yourself be yourself. That’s all that matters. I find myself always trying to compare myself to the people I look up to-whether it be folks in the Goosebumps community or just in the reviewing community, that make way better videos than I make-and I always try too hard to be like all of them. People sense that, and they probably won’t like that, more often than not. Just stick it out, and be yourself. You’d be surprised how many times I get five and ten minutes into a recording, and then stop, curse, delete it, and start over 😂
I’m hoping House will be good, too! I’ve heard decent stuff, so far!

I just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel. My sister and I loved Goosebumps growing up in the 90s. Now my son who is often scared of things wanted to get into Goosebumps to get over his fear of scary things. Your channel has helped pick out books to start with and read with him. Any advice you have would be great! We will continue watching.

Hey, Courtney, I appreciate that so much! I’m glad to see a lot of folks my age sharing that love for Goosebumps with their kids-it’s a gift that keeps on giving hahah.
In my opinion, the biggest struggle with recommending Goosebumps to folks for their kids are that the kids will always be interested in the covers first, and the stories second. The original series still has a ton of stuff in reprints (think of something like the two Haunted Mask books or the first three Slappy books), and those are simply classics, even though they’re on the scarier side. The newer Goosebumps books are almost never scary (I say this mainly of the HorrorLand books, the Most Wanted series, and the most recent collection, SlappyWorld). The biggest issue are that the endings are kind of rough on the newer books (SlappyWorld especially), and depending on how old your son is/what he enjoys in books or movies, those newer books might not be the best thing for him. If he’s younger, he’ll probably have a good time, but if he’s older than nine, for example, I think he won’t be super impressed with the newest stuff. The classics are something I’d never read many of until I became an adult, and I will absolutely stand on the side that says they’ve held-up extremely well, and most are enjoyable for any audience that’s looking for pulpy entertainment.
Sorry about the long comment, but here’s some recommendations of some books I think he’ll enjoy, if he struggles with too much:
      1. Goosebumps: The Headless Ghost
      2. Goosebumps: The Haunted Car
      3. Goosebumps: Night In Terror Tower
      4. Goosebumps: SlappyWorld: It’s Alive! It’s Alive!
      5. Goosebumps: SlappyWorld: Dummy Meets The Mummy (if he likes Slappy or mummies)
      6. Goosebumps: You Can’t Scare Me!
      7. Goosebumps: Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes
      8. Goosebumps: Most Wanted: Planet of the Lawn Gnomes
      9. Goosebumps: Monster Blood
      10. Give Yourself Goosebumps: Don’t Feed The Vampire! (This is a choose-your-own-adventure game book, and it could be a blast for kids-I’ve enjoyed a ton of that particular series of Goosebumps)
      11. Goosebumps: Most Wanted: The Wizard Of Ooze
      12. Goosebumps: SlappyWorld: Slappy, Beware!
      13. Goosebumps: Most Wanted: Son Of Slappy
      14. Goosebumps: SlappyWorld: Slappy’s Ghost
      15. Goosebumps: Most Wanted: Creature Teacher: Final Exam!
I really hope those will help. On that list, I named a few Slappy dummy books that are less scary, and I tried to make sure that the entire list were things I still see floating around Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and Books-A-Million.
Thanks for the awesome comment, and let me know what you folks think of the books, if you decide to read any of them! I’m always curious what people think of the newer books, because the more inner, active fandom have a lot of opinions about them hahah.
      God bless you guys!
