    The peak of nascar, awesome time 2003-2006

    • @user-zq1px9yb7g
      @user-zq1px9yb7g Месяц назад

      A trillion thumbs downs! HTF was this the peak? Just go back & pause this at the 1:37:52 mark & see the EMPTY SEATS as Carl wins! The peak was 03, the LAST year the points system was a real points system!
      2004, Kurt Busch was just hanging onto a top 10 spot in points heading into race 26! Not a championship contender all year, but those last 10 races saw him have good finishes & he gets handed a title he didn’t earn! The downfall of Nascrap began & has yet to slow down!
      2006 Daytona 500, that race has the biggest Asterix in nascar history next to it! Chad & another crew member get fined & suspended for four races due to the illegal back window section of the 48! Nascrap lets the team “fix” the area & keep the car! 2003 at Texas, the 20 car failed inspection for still undisclosed reason & was sent to the R&D center! Tony has to use a backup car! Around later in 06 or a year or two later, a truck fails inspection & Nascrap sends that to the R&D center forcing that team to a backup truck! Yet the 48 was left at the track with an illegal back window section & the team could “fix” it! 2006 is when tracks were REMOVING seats that had been added less than 10 year’s earlier!
      Not one time has any single one of you given hard, factual proof that 04-06 was the peak!

    Robby Gordon was flying in this race. Just couldn't keep the tires on the car tho.

    The rain delays were so much more interesting back in these days. They actually had content and had fun. Now it's a snoozefest with them repeating the same 5 statistics

    Dang I remember this race I had my mom record it while I went to school. Can home early devastation with Bobby Labonte’s engine. But then Kyle Petty finished 8th so it was a good day. Things sure have changed still pulling for the now Richard Petty Motorsports hope Bubba brings some wins to the 43!

      I actually got to stay home from school for some reason. So I got to watch it live, and yea I was devastated as well.

    What a weekend for Kasey Kahne- outqualified Ryan Newman (which was very hard to do back then) and kicked off a 6-win season.

    Petty Enterprises had a good race. Bobby Labonte led laps and was solidly in the Top 10 when his engine went south. And Kyle Petty was outside the Top 30 early in the race, but gradually climbed towards the Top 10 and finished there.

    Jimmie Johnson won 2 of the first four races that year as that would've been cool if he'd won 3 of 4 since 1992 with Bill Elliott

      guy was never elite, only 69 top 10s, but he had a whopping 260+ top 20s. He was remarkably solid.

    Four black drivers missing from the list is this. Felix Giles who attempted his qualifying run a Walt Disney World Speedway in 1997, not fast enough and failed to make the race. Bruce Driver that raced in the Richmond truck race in 1999. Bobby Norfleet in 2000 that raced at Portland International Raceway and Bill Lester was with him in that event. And Preston Tutt in 2001 at Chicago Motor Speedway raced but ended too soon before he started when his transmission linkage locked up and broke. There is one more that only ran in IndyCar which was George Mack, making it five.

    I remember by the time they got to texas that year NASCAR changedthe rule about using body styles for the previous years, because Penske was using the intrepids and they were performing better than the current body styles at the time I believe, someone feel free, to correct any inaccuracies

    Labonte went out alot earlier in the race than what I remember. He would have won that race, if not a Top 5 at least.

    I remember watching most of the race on FX but when I checked my local FOX affiliate, they were also airing the race. Did your FOX affiliate show the race?

    • @MovieLover1995
      @MovieLover1995 4 года назад +2

      Not every single FOX station in the country had the race. They only aired the race on 50 Fox affiliates around the country. I think they only air a postponed race on FOX depending on where you live at. Otherwise, you would’ve had to turn to FX (or FS1 nowadays) if you had cable.

    • @MovieLover1995
      @MovieLover1995 4 года назад +2

      Nowadays, they do. Back when they still did NASCAR On FX for backup, the races were also on some of the FOX affiliates, but that only depended on where you lived and what station you watched. In this case, that would have been some of the major cities in America.
