one of my most favorite Talladega races, i remember this wweekend because it was Dale Sr's 55th birthday and i was looking so forward to seeing Dale Jr. run his father's colors in the cup race and i got really pissed when the race was rained out and this race got me into red hot chili peppers when they played "by the way" in the promo at 2:51
And sadly still hasn’t won a restrictor plate track in Nextel/Monster Energy series though he’s gotten damn close. Hopefully he’ll get one before retiring. Would love to see him win the 500 next year 🤘🏻
Not only did they have trouble getting the checkered flag to him through the fence, he left his Hans device on top of the car and it blew off on the victory lap.
i hope nascar can put this aero package, the roof spoiler, big rear spoiler with the wickerbill on the cup cars. the last few talladega races have been single file and not very exciting to watch.
The knowledge of the cars have changed so much that just slapping that aero package on the cars would not produce the same type of racing. Plus this was on Talladega's old surface. It has been repaved since this.
You can tell these cars couldn’t move up and down the track with ease hence why it was hard to block super runs and runs back then. Now these fools have cars that can move and down with ease and block any run. That’s the problem.
could you upload the 1999 Outback Steakhouse 200? that was the first race that Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson competed together in the same race. Jeff and Jimmie are my favorite drivers. Thanks.
I miss these cars

The most underrated record in nascar history 3 straight Talladega wins in xfinity MTJ

great race and finish
FUCKING FINALLY! SOMEONE FINALLY DID IT! Great race, thank you SO MUCH!
Took a ride with Braun racing couple years ago, wrecked a lot, got fired, and married a supermodel.
Wow.
After this race, Jason Leffler was in 13th and 18th points in the standings!

They were incredibly close to causing a 20 car pileup on the final lap off the back straightaway.
"By The Way" by Red Hot Chili Peppers was playing in the backround @ 2:55
I think I saw right front damage to Johnny Sauter’s car while Stewart was upside down. Because he came outrageously close to clobbering him.
Now keep it going keep it going crash in turn 1 1:02:06

Same Thing 2001
Yeley man what happened to that guy. Went from sitting on poles with the Joe Gibbs #18 to driving part time for Rick Ware

+JNFmx Yea those wickerbill were nice
Best plate package they ever had.

Whatever happened to Burney Lamar ? i thought he was doing good in the 77 then he popped up here and there then he just fizzled away
@ 57:20 poor Tony always flips at Dega...
Why were there two Aaron's 312s with the same logo? That equals 624 miles.
