Especially since that looks like coffee instant type 2 (By the quantity of vitamin C. Type 2 can be seen with 2.2g while type 1 I remember comes with 2.5g)

Exactly what I was going to say. When an MRE is sealed it is probably safe to eat. I'd definitely tried it anyway.

Never seen grape jelly before?
We’ve made that so many times with the grapes from our own vine!
People even go crazy for just the grapes.
Last year, we had a huge harvest and even gave fresh grapes to about 20 people.
They got to pick their own grapes, so, they even had some fun. 😊

I was in the US Marines and was among the first troops to test MRE's.
The first Gen MRE's sucked. But it is a shame you didn't try to taste these things. They looked perfectly edible.

Steve1989MRE eats even a MRE from 1943 and smoke the cigarettes thats in the MRE as well, so you also should at least try it to taste test the food when it's in that good condition.

I have eaten every variety of MRE. I think I have a box full of them in the garage. You would be amazed how delicious they are if you are hungry.

my guilty pleasure is watching these lol
I was in the Army thru the 70s & 80s and ate a Lot of those type of MREs. I think we heated them with boiling water? Maybe 1 or 2 that I didnt like. But I always enjoyed MREs. Even the newer ones.
