Thanks for sharing this information. I was a GM factory tech and was fortunate to receive factory training in the 80s and 90s with the first rather crude efi systems of the day icluding PFI and SFI. I decided to change careers, but got back into the performance game in the last couple of years. I just purchased a complete G3500 wreck with a Lq4 and 4l80e. I keep replaying and reviewing your video's because they are so well done. I am determined to use the 2004 ecm and save the $2000 required to buy the Holley controller. Please keep up the great work, enjoy your videos every day.
You can get a Megasquirt 3 gold box with harness for about 1300 bucks but that takes all the fun out of it!

It's easy to make a xdf file from your Bin it won't be modified the way most of them are looking it will have everything that's on your computer xdf file I made one for my Bin same os number

thank you for posting this vid, im new to tunerpro and pcmhammer, i would like to experiment with these programs, im just messing around with unlocking and tuning with stock files for now. i had one of my trucks tuned by 2 separate tuners who used HP Tuners and i feel both took my money and didnt do very much in return.

I missed where you actually found the 12208322 XDF? You start to talk about the EFI website then you select a BIN file? Is that because it's a good fondation BIN for 2001 LS and it includes the XDF?
is there settings for fuel temp and fuel rail pressure on cng equipped models like my 04 express? trying to remove the system and i get codes for those sensors witch have been removed

Not a factory combination, so there won't be a BIN for it.
I'd use a manual trans.
Hey J.R., wouldn't the DTC codes be the same from TunerPro and HP Tuners? If so, couldn't you just open HP Tuners and mark the ones you need to disable and write down the codes to turn off in TunerPro?

Hey I'm buying hp tuners but need some direction on if I need the standard or pro version. I own an 06 got that I want to work on and an 06 5.3 silverado I plan on doing the typical cam, exhaust etc...
With HP Tuners, you can always upgrade to Pro later if you want.

I want to start tuning cars and came across Tunerpro RT. I'm confused as to what adapter I need to buy? There is literally no resources on tuning OBD2 cars with Tunerpro.
Looking to first experiment and learn on my car and then start tuning professionally. I'm a developer by profession, so I think I can handle it. Will the OBDLink MX+ work in my case? I've MSI laptop.

Hopefully you check this out soon...I have many fault codes and currently in reduced engine power mode after integrating the Holley Terminator X ECU into the OEM ECU for my 620hp 408 stroker build in a 2004 Hummer H2. Will this OBDLink MX+ and TunerPro software be able to turn these codes off?
Yes, it can disable the fault codes you're having

I cant find the XDF files anywhere, I found a bin on the same page you found the 6.0 LQ4 .bin. I need one for the 4.8 LR4. I have not seen 1 XDF on Gearhead even, am I missing something?

Really confused, you mentioned you don't need to match xdf, I can't find one close to mine. I just noticed as soon as you started you had an xdf already loaded then just downloaded a bin. I'm on the forums there and they said I had to load a certain one and changed injectors and pedal because no one has made an xdf matching mine. Any help there?
Whatever XDF and BIN you use, has to match.
You don't need to fixate on finding a XDF to match your BIN, might not be one.
Just find a matching pair that do what you need and load them on your PCM

Im worried I have a 06 Silverado with a 12613248 and I found a 246bin on their site. Just need to find xdf, is what they are saying is true? They mentioned using a 7406 and changing injectors and fuel pedal and that just blew my mind. It'd would be cheaper to go with hpt if I had to go that route. So as long as I get same trans, engine code and year and it's a 1mb ecm I should be good?
Also I heard some guys having issues after wrong xdf like bad idle or trans shift points changing? Will this be an issue or is that from unmatched bin/xdf?
Ok, I'm still trying to clear up confusion. I'd like some definitions as to what each file does. and compatibilities. You said you pick a BIN that matches your transmission. Then pick and XDF that matches your Bin. I'd understand this better if they made a Flow chart and posted it on the Forums. I didn't want to change much on my ECU initially. I just want Vats turned off and Turn down or off the Torque limiting.
looking to run an 8.1 with an Allison 2,000 the series. They stopped using EGR in 2003 they also used a return less fuel rail then. point me in the right direction OB1
I have a 03 5.3 ls swaped in to a 95 gmc 3500 dually withat a manual NV 4500 trans and what I did the tune on the pcm I did not turn the auto trans off and tell it its manual now how would I change the trans in the pcm or do I need a different xdf file than the one I used for my swap 1st. The file I used was a 2012 CAMMARO tune xdf file and I think it was set with a auto trans and now I have a Manual I have searched online all over and don't really find a definite answer.
Any guidance and help will be gratefully appreciated.

The easiest thing to do is find a manual XDF file, there's a bunch on the facebook group.

I would not use Tunerpro with forced induction before PCM Hammer gets their data logging working

No, but if I did I'd just use PCM Hammer to smash a stock file over whatever's there

So the original OS in my 2000 ecu is a 9381344 which I cant find an XDF for. Can I just write the 8322 OS over the 1344 OS?

You don't have the checksum files installed in the correct folders

You're probably looking in the wrong folder on Tunerpro, Tunerpro looks in it's own folder, if you downloaded them and didn't move them, that's why it doesn't see them.

Without an XDF to match your BIN you cant tune with Tunerpro, you're lucky you didn't brick it.
Change to an OS that has an XDF

It's weird they don't have most of the dtc codes listed since they are standard obd2 mostly
I haven't opened this software in years lol, don't even have a copy currently. No telling what's on there now
@TheDrivewayEngineer ya I don't know but the obd 2 standard has been a thing since like 96 right and the like base codes have been the some probably since but whatever it's easy to find the info and I have hp tuners to compare with

If you want to make it short AND efficient - make a script, if you are not used to perform speeches.
What do you want to transmit, why what is it for and why would I want to know that. And all of that in a clever order, depending on how it works.
Example: In your video you say XDF xxx works on any computer from 99 to 2002 PCM. Then you say " I know it works and it is all there"."To use XDF xxxx file, then you say go to "here" and get the BINS, but then you say, and i quote "It only works on a few". Works on what? YOUR car? How mice! And THEN to top it off you say "make sure you use a BIN and XDF that match, AFTER you tout you dont do that and do something else. No mention of checksums and or errors. I must have missed that? Yea, other than showing screen shots, something smells.
NO ONE tells people this is only a 20% success out of the box and you have to stab the shyt out of it for anything of a higher success rate.
Relive it or not, I am not really busting on you, just pissed that no one will mention these things. Time to bring it to air.
