Car roof bars are good for 50kg, the tent box weights 50kg, so how can say 2 people weighing around upwards of 100kg's Combined be able to use this safely giving there is at least 150kg's on the roof bars ?
This is the dynamic weight limit of the roof bars and car roof rails, the static weight limit is several hundred kilos (450kg upwards ) as the car is stationary when your in the tent box so ..I wondered exactly the same question. A car should be able to support itself on its own roof so a tent box with 2 people in it is well under the limit.
Does the ladder provide support? Does anyone know what the maximum supported weight is. Looking at this I can imagine if I sat on the edge where the ladder is it would just collapse
Literally just purchased and fitted my tentbox lite, superb quality, easy to fit and great customer service 👍....also a few extra good mods since this video 🏕😃🤌
@@BeauMadeline they brilliant but so easy to be taken tentbox need to drastically improve the security...I could of taken it off when not in use but they really need a better system
On other side of the tent only the ladder is supporting, but there are no iron bars underneath supporting the board, what is the strength of the board, is the board not going to sag when someone sleeps there? ? Or when someone sleeps there and someone fold the ladder.How strong is the board on the side of the ladder? ?
Only thing I can see being a problem in the long run would be the sky light and window plastic there’s a good chance it will go cloudy over time and or split from sun exposure.

Is there a minimum distance between the car’s roof bars. Mine are only like 730mm apart.
