Truth be told, when I set off for this micro-adventure, I had no idea that it would snow THAT heavily at night. This ended up being real test of Odyssey's winter capabilities... and my fire-making skills 🔥❄️

After watching this video with my two toddlers they promptly wanted to make a blanket tent in the living room and pretend to camp in the snow ❄️ 🥰🥰
Me and my 7 year old love to watch her videos together. I want to encourage him to be adventurous 🥰
Good memories of blanket tents, but kids must grow. Now its just me alone in the blanket tent in the lounge.
That's so cute! 🙂
Beautiful in the snow😎🇦🇺
how adorable! great that they would be so inspired at such a young age
I love it after a big snow fall. It silences everything and it’s extremely quiet.
This must have been a walk in the park for you after days in a tent on a mountain at the bottom of the world in a blizzard. The video of the winter calm of the Forrest was beautiful and such a contrast to the madness and suffering in Ukraine. Thank you for this view of peace and beauty in these trying times.
Amazing after Antarica to see Polland mountains
Eva, I am super impressed with your adventures. Stay brave and safe. Prayers and ❤️ sent your way.
Suggestion from an old guy who has done a bit of winter camping in his younger days (Northern Michigan). Take along an old round or square pizza pan with low sides and a small bag of sand. Lay out the pan in a cleared space, pour in the sand, and set up your fire in the pan. The sand will protect the pan for future use. This will keep the fire from causing too much side melt and putting out the fire. You can toss the sand (or re- bag it for transport out). It depends on how much burnt wood you collect in the sand. Even a small fire is wonderful when camping. So glad you gained fire starter skills! Shall we now address you as, The Prometheus Pole? With a last name of Dziesinski I offer that with affection.
Great idea 💡
Or even get some support for the pan, isolating it from the ground.

Of course, she could have just used the fire pit in the shelter ;-)
Hi Ray, My Dad was in the Air Force and we were stationed at Kincheloe AFB close to Sault Ste. Marie. I was 13 and just loved it - spent the 8th and 9th grades at Rudyard High School. We moved to Michigan from Homestead AFB, of all places, in November of 1961 - what a change - but I loved it and had the best time going from roller skating way down south to ice skating way up north! Before our base housing was ready, we got to live in an old farmhouse in the woods. It was magical to me watching the deer venturing out in the clearing and pawing the snow to find food to eat.
As far as learning how to make a fire, I was one of those lucky girls who learned how in the Girl Scouts and use that skill to this day!
If I am ever lucky enough to have the opportunity to make a fire in the snow, I will use your technique!
"Travel channel" is not an accurate label. A more accurate label would be "extreme travel channel." These are not things I would do personally, but it is fun to do them vicariously through your channel. Thanks for posting great content!
Wow how wonderful and beautiful Thanl you so very much. 👍🙏🙋❤
There is nothing more peaceful than the forest during heavy snow. The silence is just amazing.
Compared to your Antarctic expedition this must have felt like springtime 🌞
I had the same thought!
what she talking she slept almost 10 hours or 10 hours LUL no person can sleep 10 hours without going on toilet ....^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^wtf is she on :D
@@kermitrooseveltferkelroose9537 I used to be able to when I was young! Can't go 4 hours now LOL 😆
However, I don't think she said 10 hrs straight and we know that she knows how to pee in a bottle, so there might have been a potty break 😁
@@NyreeAlana mhhh jo :D how old u in this old video from u ? just a question ....
@@kermitrooseveltferkelroose9537 I would have been 40! Goodness time flies!
I miss “snormy” weather. Thank you for all you do. You make me smile. ✌️
Is so exiting to see Eva on Oddesey again 💕✨
To anyone suffering right now for what is happening in the world my prayers 🙏 and positive energy to you 💜
Keep going ✨💕
I aggree
Thank you❤
I love watching your videos. Your optimism, calming demeanor, and love for traveling helps my anxiety in times like this. Watching your videos is an escape from reality. Stay safe!
Fun video, I admire your enthusiasm , as an avid outdoorsman, I will suggest ALWAYS have a hatchet when you camp, and keep a set of chains for your tires in those environments , they give at least, double the traction, especially on ice
I miss these types of videos so much! It was wonderful to see you back in Odyssey, connecting with nature again. Your travel videos where you document other people are beautiful, and so well done, but I love these types the best. There is just something so raw and real about them; simple and yet adventurous, inspiring and gorgeous all the same. I really appreciate them. But whatever you do, I know it will be so well done! Thank you for taking us along with you on your journeys and for sharing!
This video was so peaceful to watch, it feels very cozy. I love the variety of adventures and atmospheres that you show
Happy to see something beautiful from Poland. Things I don't see very often, thanks for sharing it with us.
@Joey Shofner, hello from Poland 🇵🇱 and my little freedom and lifestyle channel 😊 Feel free to check out!
Is Poland near Ukraine?

We need more Eva Zubecks in the world :) Your videos and adventures are so romantic. I feel like I'm a little boy reading a novel about some far off place. Well done!
Aside from santa, this was the first time I've seen a sleigh. Complete with a flaming torch. Great content I can't wait for your next adventure! Keep up the great work.
By seeing evas vlog
I really got courage and motivation to get a 4 wheeler and just travel ❤️
True 👍
I live in the Northern Ontario region of Canada….so I'm well acquainted with winter and camping in winter ..its always beautiful, but always cold and damp….its -24C here today, seems like you can never have too many layers of clothes or too warm a sleeping bag !!! Good for you for trying it out…..Cheers !
Well even in the snow it felt so warm to watch this video. And the place where you spent the night is absolutely magical and beautiful. Every time I watch your videos I want to have some kind of adventure just like you do. Thanks for sharing your journey
In past camp trips in cold weather I would place large stones near the fire and then use them as bed warmers! Your tent looks pretty cozy.
You are an inspiration to so many.
I have camped out all my life and you even inspire me. Keep being you and never change👌
Wonderful to see you enjoyed your Antarctic experience and made it home safely. Prayers to you and your neighbors.
Thank you for taking us on your adventures.
I was waiting for this video💙💛 It’s kind of support for me here in Ukraine💪🏻
Courage 🙏🙏❤
I wish you the best best best . Stay strong
Ukraine needs help from UNIVERSAL human rights power act.
Stay strong over there guys
Hey checking up on you.. you ok??
Mulher incrível, sempre se testando, só nos mostra o quanto é resiliente e que lugar bonito e selvagem.
Obrigada por compartilhar este vídeo, mantenha-se segura e agasalhada.
Eva, I just wanted to point out that it is a good idea to have some kind of Carbon Monoxide sensor (detector) every time you have fuel burning heat source. Camping in the winter is awesome, even some pretty casual spots feel amazing and remote. And usually you have them all to yourself. Cheers and happy trails
thats not what happens with a diesel heater. it doesnt burn a fire inside the tent to create heat. it passes air over a hot diesel 'engine' and that in turn heats the air. so its not burning anything that the air would be exposed to.
This Atanas is correct and very polite. She did say it was kind of a "makeshift," cheap heating system and that "the most important thing" is that it works. I think the most important thing is that its safe and doesn't kill you while you're sleeping or start a fire while you're asleep. She shouldn't encourage others to just try and make their own makeshift tent heating systems. Atanas is just being responsible. After all she also ignored all the weather/camping warnings and just laughed & "hoped" it would be OK... and didn't bring an ax for firewood, etc, etc. Ignoring weather warnings for camping is also, generally a really bad idea - and bad example. It seems she had friends and a snowcat nearby so she wasn't really in any danger, but that's not the happy-go-lucky impression she gave to her viewers. I hope no-one watches this and goes out to see if they can also survive the night out in the snowy wilderness, then their vehicle gets stuck tens of miles from help and freezes to death or dies of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Good sound advice on the carbon monoxide detector; kudos Eva! Stay safe and real!
@@MrEvolutionist doesn't the hot diesel engine produce exhaust gas?
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 yes. But ur not meant to exhaust it into the sleeping quarters lol
If Ur exhaust properly. U won't have a problem. But a sensor is never a bad idea to keep on u
The best part of winter camping is the peace and quiet. No summer tourist crowds and the snow adds to the calmness. A good diesel heater setup in our overland trailer has made it a game changer! Cheers from Canada!
Beautiful. The snow is too. Camping I always had a 3 foot long 1/2" rubber or plastic tube to blow air into the fire from a safe distance. The concentrated air flow makes any fire making far easier and safer. It can also be used to siphon water or other liquids as needed.
Love your vids.
Love living vicariously through you and your adventures. Great job once again! Cheers!
I'm glad to see you survived Antarctica! That camp without wind was a peice of cake for you!
Thank you for those views of the forest, while it snows!!! I can see you have enough energies to stand that weather, and that you know what to do.
Camping in the snow is so beautiful. I had a trip next a river and the sounds after the snow made me sleep so well. Nature is so relaxing.
I love your adventures Eva, thanks for taking us along with you.
Hi Eva, thanks for sharing a more reachable adventure close to home and good to see you return in good health from your Antarctic adventure! May I give you my two cents as fellow Landrover enthousiast… get SNOWCHAINS 🙉. It might sound silly because you have enough traction to get Odyssey up the mountain. But a set of snowchains on your front wheels will make braking and steering downhill so much safer. Be brave but stay safe!
Put your chains on the rear wheels, unless you want to end up pointing the wrong direction going down hill.
Agreed. Lots of times I don't even put the chains on the Rover but just lay them down and drive over them in tough spots.
Thanks Eva for sharing your interesting adventures all the time. Keep safe always and God bless. Praying for your safety ❤️
I have to say you are adorable! I love the way you roll in the great outdoors. Winter is so beautiful with the likes of you in it. You go prepared and that is key to safe outings in winter . Funny how being alone has its sweet rewards but also makes interaction with others so much more memorable! The cheese and baked potatoes looked like heaven! Thanks for sharing!
I just can't fathom How strong can someone be 💪 god bless you Eva 🤞🤞🤞🤞
There is no better land than Homeland! Love Poland ❤️Widzę że śledzimy troszkę bushcrafty :)

Eva I Love You More Than Anybody Else In The Whole World
Beautiful. I love snow. It’s both serene and exhilarating.
Bardzo lubię Twoje filmy! I was married with my Polish wife for 23 years. (I'm from Belgium). We have 3 children and all of them are born in Gostynin. Tęsknię za Polską. Pozdrowienia.
It's like a luxury tent comparing to the Antarctica one 😅 I love the string lights!
It reminds me about the fun we had during our winter vacation to Norway and Sweden. With our Jeep over the gravel roads full with snow and ice.
The house looks like sugarcoated.
With temperatures below -32 degrees Celsius at some points.
What a great experience.
So I like your videos and enjoy every one of them.
Keep it coming 😄
Snow camping / ah … how beautiful and tranquil this video !! I think this proves we don’t ‘need luxuries’ as we believe…just well thought out campers - especially on a budget…. Just love watching your travels - thank you for always taking us along ….. :)
Great to see you Eva!
I was concerned about your Antarctica adventures.
It was one of your greatest adventures yet!
I’m sure the winter outing in the forest was a restful one.
Wow, driving in the wilderness and deep snow alone. Brave!!!
Eva, I believe you may be the most inspirational travel Vlogger I've seen. I wanted too thank you for all your hard work 🤯😊. Absolutely beautiful 😊🤗
Life with a Diesel air heater is the game changer :) I’m so glad to see you back to overlanding, definitely my favorite travel vlogs!

I wish you could have shown more of the rooftop set up
Watching Eva after watching Mike!!! My weekend is already very good. Be blessed both of you. As a disabled with one of the weakest passports, I adventure with you through the screen.
i love all your videos eva from meeting different people from all around the world to adventures like this in your home country, and think you are a great role model for women and men too, stay safe and well ❤🌍❤🏳🌈
You should use your channel to somehow help/support Ukraine.
Beautiful scenery, so calming and peaceful. Love the drone views, so pretty!
With a fresh perspective from the extreme climate of Antarctica, surviving through a 'SNOMY' weather like that is nothing but a piece of cake to you, Eva! :) keep going!
Another beautiful, inspiring video. I bikepack and you always seem to inspire me to view my travels, feelings and experiences on the bike in a different more fulfilling way. You are truly amazing Eva. Thanks 🙏
A Gorgeous Lady that loves Adventures. Enjoy watching. Thanks.
After watching your Antarctica vlogs, this felt so peaceful. Sounds like it was that way for you too! I enjoyed this slow paced, simple pleasure adventure. 😊
First time on your channel. Great content, really enjoyed it. My faith in the perfect woman has been restored.
I noticed that you did not have a shovel. Perhaps include that in your land rover, especially when you are in snowy areas. I really love this video and I loved your aerial shots with the drone. A winter wonderland. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
What a lovely and beautiful vlog! Thank you for this nice one 👌 Keep on doing the things you love to do.👍
What a magical winter landscape Eva! I recently started to try out and enjoy sleeping in a tent during the winter in Sweden! Some learnings the first times but now I love it!
In love with the wholesome experience you create for yourself.. ❤️
Looks like perfection where you camped!!! What a relaxing overnight adventure!!
I am from Upper Michigan, USA and also lived 6 years in Alaska. Now I am retired in Florida where there is no snow. Watching your video brought back beautiful memories. Thank you.
this video pretty much encompasses everything I love about the adventures of overlanding. love your content!!
First time at this channel, most impressive thing in the video is the ability to sit,, or squat rather than relying on having a chair or seat. Very impressive, I had a knee injury and just started working on that and holy crap I don't even have the muscles to make that work. The pain! But apparantly its super healthy for the back and quads,, I think this is the first time I've seen this outside of developing countries where everybody sits like that.
This my first time watching your content! And you are amazing! Just over a year now I’ve been watching more adventurers like yourself and slowly but surely I do want to attempt an overnight in nature!
YES! So nice to have you back Eva! I have longed for your Oddesy adventures.
LOVE the term "micro-adventure", gonna start using it for my small trips 😊
What a beautiful video ,that roof top tent looks amazing so roomy and cosy with that heater.
Now that's the kind of road conditions where you really appreciate Odyssey's technical off roading prowess. I'm sure that diff lock feature was extremely useful for you!😃👍
hope your travels keep you safe Eva! A wonderful video after a very very stormy one xD
Beautiful video made by a beautiful soul. You are inspiring. Enjoy your adventures, stay grounded and stay safe💖💖💖
I have never seen a RUclips vlogger who does good narration on her videos. Just subscribe!
The most adventures spirit I am watching on RUclips!! You are so creative when choosing your adventures, chapeau to you Eva! xx
Brilliant videography Eva! Your skills are now Master Class! What a treat after your nail-biting adventures in Antarctica! Keep up the incredible work! 👍👍And please be safe! 🙏
Amazing video, Eva ! Love your visual storytelling. Super inspiring ! All the best, and safe travels 🙌
love seeing winter camping video with lots of snow
Camping alone is great, when I first started camping alone some ppl thought it was strange or I was lonely. Lol but now more and more ppl going alone. 👍
So glad to see you back in the Defender! Add the snow, what a beautiful experience. I'd love to learn more about your tent heater.
Thank you for sharing ur beautiful adventures just watching make me feel alive
Its exciting to watch again and again
Your rooftop tent looks so spacious and cozy inside. Love it!
Watching this video makes me want to see my Grandfather’s home country. I hope to get there, and to my Uncle’s grave in the next few years.
Thank you for showing me some of the beauty of Poland and it’s people.
Awesome adventure. Loved it. Thanks for taking us with you. 8)
What a wonderful experience Eva! So neat! I wish I can sleep 10 hours! I guess fresh air and the silence is helpful. Thanks for this video. I am craving that cheese!!
It is so nice to confirm that the closer we get to nature the more we appreciate multinational companies like BP, Shell, Exxon-Mobil, etc. etc.
Great video, Eva! Stay safe and warm over there!
Hi Evushka, I'm happy that the family break was short and your channel goes on.
Be safe, God bless you, Eva. I appreciate all of your survival skills and appreciation of nature.
One thing you learned from the Windy Antarctic weather.. if they call for worsening conditions and you get a break in the weather... take it to prepare for the worse, or get out. Having spent many a Winter backpacking in the local mountains of California bad weather can get worse. Lowest temperature we experienced was about -30C(may have been colder but our thermometer bottomed out). Another experience was using a umbrella style tent...and winds started picking up getting very noisy and sometime in the middle of the night we lost it. The local shop said it had to be in excess of 60mph(95kph) to rip out the stays from the tent. As you found in the Antarctic trip...and it a bit cliche when dealing with expeditions in Nature, "Hope for the best. Plan for the worst" Wishing you safe travels here in the US.
Nice to see you again venturing with the Land Rover
And i'm happy to see you again eva 😊❤️
You're so amazing! Fearless and a true adventurer! I now want to copy your trips going solo.
Beautiful, glad you could stay warm.
Thanks for sharing your camping adventure in the forest in winter time.
So happy Kara and Nate mentioned you in one of their recent videos! I am now a subscriber of your too! Loved this video. You are so adventurous! This old in years, but not in spirit lady, thoroughly enjoyed going on this adventure with you!
Ms.Eva I'm from the philippines , I'm so amazed with your brave , how I wish there is also a snow in our country so that I can try camping under the snow like you. Keep safe always and God Bless
