With the hard cased tent can a kayak be mounted on top? The cross bars im loking at says 200lb capability, do different brands have different weight capacity? Is it the different brands i need to look into for weight capacity?

Am i right in thinking that eight exposed nuts are all that would stand in the way of a thief making off with my £2,000 roof tent?

you get security nuts that need a special key to tighten / loosen them (bit like the lock nuts on car wheels) so I'd be using them. However, a cordless angle grinder will render any additional security useless as you can either cut through the bolts or roof bars, whatever is quicker.
