I have carried the P320 for close to 2 years now I love it! a great improvement over a Taurus.
Both companies have some cool guns
Pretty low bar haha
@@thecanadianlanboy8132 Says the Canadian 🤣👍🏻
@@AJayAnswersYou just because we need to be licensed doesn't mean we don't enjoy our handguns! Taurus handguns are certainly better than having no gun
I agree I own the Taurus G3C and their good guns. But the Sig P320 is much better.
My son bought his p320 about 6 months ago and has put 3 thousand rounds thru it with no problems, it has a safety on it ! I’ve shot it myself and it is a great shooting gun! He carry’s it as his main weapon and I myself would carry it if I owned it!
I'm curious if the safety issue continues in the newer models
We’re trying to find out the same thing
Manual safety the way to go

They put a new trigger in firearms built after a certain date. I believe the older triggers weren't as curved as the new ones.
I asked about the ones that I have and they have the newer trigger system.
I have carried a P320 for 3yrs as my duty and as a edc. Have zero issues with the firearm and I trust it as much as a Glock. Love the firearm and will continue to carry the bad boy
Yep. There's nothing wrong with those guns.
No you don't Glock never had that issue. They being said it. I love Sig but I'm carrying it
Same . For me it's been five years ... Even dropped it downstairs once lol by accident... No issue lol
I just started carry my P320 I never had no problem out of my P320 I love my P320 it’s the best gun I ever brought to protect me and my family
They're great guns.
I have carried my post recall P320 everyday for about 9 months. Iwb, owb, even on my side by side in the woods with absolutely 0 issues. It has been knocked off the bed and dropped a few times while loaded and has not had a malfunction.
Cool.
Five years same here. Never got the upgrade.
@@Colobo3436 Why would you choose not to get the upgrade? It's free of charge and would give you greater peace of mind. Safety is paramount.

Loaded yes but was it chambered?
Chambered is more dangerous since the standard p320 doesn’t have a manual or trigger safety
For me, the P320 platform is my favorite. It's a proven firearm.
It feels good in the hands

I dunno. 10 days ago MPD had one go off while still in it's holster: ruclips.net/video/EuHG-JFy2G4/видео.html
@@BoomStickTactical The P320 (2nd gen or updated) has been scrutinized more than any firearm in history for safety. The P320 has been tested for realiabilty by the military and currently holds the record for most rounds with out a failure. The data is available. Do the search. I carry it everyday with total confidence. The P320 is carried every day by militaries and law enforcement worldwide every day. IMO, the P320 is one of the best pistol platforms ever!
Back to the Glock 22 for me and shield 2.0 for pocket Carry. All it takes is once to blow your steak and eggs off by accident. Until the issue is fixed, don't do it!

I won't carry mine anymore. But its still a great range gun. UNTIL this is all settled.
@@russellnewlin2230 coincidentally I just put 200 rounds through mine over the weekend. Shoots like a champ. Great range gun . Love the trigger reset and the 21 round extended mag I bought
Yep Dogwood below...I have carried mine for over two years no issues great gun!
Nothing wrong with them
The lawsuit has to do with an early model p320 that hasn't had the safety adjustment done to it. The claim is for Sig to make the adjustment a official recall instead of a "voluntary upgrade". If you have the adjustment done or if it is a post adjustment number it is safe to carry. I agree with the suit, Sig should have done an official recall. That being said, I still stand by the p320 as a dependable sidearm for duty or home defense. Would i carry it AIWB, no way.
I usually carry mine owb when I do carry it.
There is a different law suit that involves post upgraded 320s firing while still in the holster. Several different instances actually.
@@derbycover791 And that's precisely why I will no longer get a P320. I was ready to get an XCompact, but if the post upgrade guns with the new components still have issues FORGET about it. I'll probably get a PPQ.
@@MrHav1k I'm curious if the p320 xCompact has had any safety issues/unintentional discharge etc
The lawsuits were dismissed by the federal court hearing the case.
Got the Xcarry and Xcompact...carry the latter some....but not anymore until more info on if/why this gun may just go off on it's own. Heard a P250 duty holster may be part of the issue. Waiting with anticipation as my son also has the upgraded P320 full size.
I'm curious about them myself. I want to trust them but not sure i can.
I really want an XCompact and was strongly considering one, but if the guns are still going off under dubios circumstances.... no way. I can't buy something I can't trust.
I'm in jamaica carrying the NON UPGRADED P320 and i want to upgrade but im not getting any help..i called sig and they said they dont do upgrade outside the U.S. ..and the gun dealer i bought it from isn't willing to assist...
I got mine recently also, been watching the videos & whatever reviews, the closest "solution" seem to be installing abflat trigger from sig or graysguns, not sure about the apex triggers, really understand aboit the reluctance of the Dealers, its been said its an issue with FLA & the dealers, patience is a virtue?????
What does it take to be able to own a firearm in Jamaica?
It’s a lot my pop lives down there. Fingerprint, recommendations(like military staff, members of parliament), passport, proof of income, interview, inspection of home, hella shit man
Contact a local gunsmith
I bought a full size recently and it's the "upgraded" version and we'll see how she does. I'm not concerned in the slightest because 1. In 20 years of shooting, I've never dropped a loaded firearm or an unloaded one for that matter and 2. I bought this for a range gun only, this will literally never see a holster while it's in my possession. I carry a CZ P01 omega so the 320 was never intended to be a carry gun so I'm fine with it.
That makes a difference also. I've got several guns that are range only.
Carrying a P320 C1 is like carrying a cocked and unlocked 1911. I don't know anyone that would do that. And the 1911 still offers a grip safety.
I think they provide a better value over glock although the FCU may need a manual safety for LEO use. It would be nice if it was something easy to do or modify
They could just change the fcu if they wanted manual safety
@@BoomStickTactical Ya that is the good thing about the P320, although I don't see any FCU only options with the manual safety at this time. As a side question, do you EDC the sig or glock?
i carry a sig p320c everyday for like 6 years now shot over 2000 rounds no malfunctions i sent it back to sig when the first recall came in i think 2014-15 i have had not one problem
Hopefully Sig has the problem solved in the newer guns.
I love my sig p320 carry it everyday never had a problem
I've been carrying mine more after investigating the problem. It's a great gun. Thanks for watching
I own a 320. Grabbed one when first came out. Too big for carry anyway in Florida. I haven't had trigger job done yet. I just don't carry any of my pistols with a chambered round. That's me. If i need to rack a round I'll do it when nec.😎✌🇺🇸
Hopefully all the training we do is just training and never needed.
Personally I don’t have a problem with the P320. I have two compacts, a subcompact, and recently picked up the M17. I also own Glocks and M&Ps, so no, I’m not a fanboy. I bought the first one before the “voluntary upgrade” and it ran great. I even used it in a couple training classes. I sent it in for the upgrade because why not? It was free. Sig paid for the shipping and it even came back with some extra stuff. Since then I’ve run it through more training classes and still no issues. This whole thing reminds me of the Serpa holster. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the holster, and yet it’s banned in pretty much every training class across the country. Why? Because people who didn’t know what they were doing shot themselves in the leg or foot. Before we panic about the gun being unsafe, there needs to be a LOT more evidence that it is in fact the gun that’s unsafe.
Its possible they could be forced to do a mandatory recall on them.
Exactly. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. This is sounding like a MeToo deal with guns lol.
i carry a round in my 320 full size and i have not had a problem with it going on.
Its rare but has clearly happened
This statement is like the dude's who don't wear helmets while riding motorcycles and say "So far I'm still alive, so helmets are so unnecessary..." while everyone else who actually died from not wearing one can't testify the counter-argument because... well, they died. LOL. So no there's no testimony from the people who can claim it's actually fatal.
Had mine FDE 40 Cal 5 years didn't hear about upgrade till a year later in E mail or call from Sig Sauer it stay in the safe I have Sp 2022 9mm and 1911 22 cal ben 4 years since I bought a Sig hand Gun
Send it in and have it upgraded. If anything it will at least be safer for the range
picked up a sig P320 X Compact (with romeo1pro attached) on the 19th of July as my first carry gun/first firearm ever. Now that I hear this, it's worrying. I don't know if I can carry this gun, hot, in my waist and pointed at my genitals without worrying if a bump in the road is going to set it off. I'm so angry my sales rep didn't even mention this to me, especially because I was considering the P365XL first, and since they were sold out...well, he just sold me on it. It's a great feeling/shooting gun. but I had no knowledge of this until after I bought it, I'm disappointed I didn't do enough research before getting it. I haven't fired a single round through it yet...what should i do? :/
I like sig and own a couple. I wish I knew an answer for you but the only thing I can say is don't carry a gun you don't feel comfortable with. My EDC is almost always a Glock for that reason.
I think I’ll just not carry one in the chamber until sig addresses my concerns
Does anyone know if the current P320 X-Compact uses the same internal components that the upgrade used in attempt to resolve the issue?
@@colszta they changed some of them
@colszta However, My serial number falls short a number or two so I had to email them. idk why..
Love carrying my P320 45 ACP
Nice
Does anyone know if its certain models that has the issue more than others? I've had my 320 compact for 5 years with no probs.
I don't see much differences between versions of the P320. I wouldn't carry it until the lawsuit settles on which party is correct in their assertions (may be yrs down the road). As the sayin' goes: Just because you haven't been wearing a seat belt 5 yrs doesn't mean tomorrow you'll be safe doing it...
This was gonna be my question. Do they all use the same trigger and fire mechanism?
I'm planning to pick one up soon, because it's finally the one firearm I've found so far that actually fits my grip as perfect as possible (left handed, big hands, etc)
Yes it's only certain models
If I want to avoid ANY doubts about safety concerning pistols.....I fall back to two things...
Striker fire guns are less safe than hammer fire and my Beretta M9 n M9A3 are the safest
Pistols money can buy.
That depends on the particular gun. I've seen several hammer fired guns that are much less safe
A striker fired gun with a functioning firing pin block and trigger blade safety is perfectly safe. The only EDGE I'd give a DA/SA gun is that when the hammer is down there's no tension on the firing mechanism. Every striker fired gun has at least some tension on the striker.
I have no concern it’s safe fixes in 2017. Mine is the x-compact RXP
Nothing wrong with them
I've heard a lot of talk about the lawsuit, but nothing on the technical details of what is actually going on with the P320.
I've been trying to get more information myself
Its hard to find info im almost certain the p320 in question never got the upgrade
@@MADPAOFFICIAL There are plenty of known cases of "upgraded" ones still firing while holstered. Here's one incident that happened very recently (MPD acquired the pistols in 2019 btw - post upgrade): ruclips.net/video/EuHG-JFy2G4/видео.html
It's almost sounding like the striker is slipping off the sear due to impact or something. But this is only an assumption I have made. In all cases it seems to be dropped, wacked, or moving. But if that was the case the firing pin block sould catch the striker? Idk but I'm very curious too.
@@JAD77755 Yeah, there are many passive safeties that should prevent this but perhaps there is a tolerance issue that makes most guns work and some unsafe... That's what I am thinking. If this was a blatant engineering defect, it would have been recalled immediately and easily diagnosed.
Funny the military has no problem with them. Or picking them over Glock which must hurt!! Glock fanboys hate that shit! Sig P320 are the best selling pistol of the last decade.

I feel the same way about carrying my p320 as I do about playing the lottery.
It should be fine if it's been through the upgrades
@@BoomStickTactical some of you don't get it. The upgraded triggers from Sig are FAILING. This is simple before you blow a hole in your leg or kill a family member. Go to Guns&Gadgets he has 2 videos on the P320 lawsuits over 100 with Original & Upgraded Version. He is a police officer & has both & stopped carrying both. For your safety just watch it then decide. The UPGRADE means NOTHING
@@thepatriotsrock2 I watched his video and that's why I started investigating it more for myself. The updated version would require several things failing at once. The upgraded safety block release, the disconnect the firing pin block. If you don't like it don't Carry one. If I felt it wasn't safe I wouldn't carry it either.
@@BoomStickTactical that's what I was thinking, if the UPGRADED VERSION is going off then like you said several things at once are failing
I have a question about the "video proof" people have on the 320 "going off by itself???? I don't really know how to word this, but here goes......how does someone get "vidieo proof" of this???? Do they have someone videoing them while they're carrying???? How do you get vidieo proof of a gun randomly firing?????
I got the P320 X-Carry and can’t find any information on if it has the same problems that the regular P320 had. The trigger is different from the post upgrade version, but when I put its serial number in the website it said it “didn’t need an upgrade.” I was satisfied with that until I heard about the lawsuit and all the more recent reported incidents with the weapon going off. Until I find out more on the X-Carry I’ll probably go back to carrying the Glock.
The x carry came out after the original issue. You're good to go.
The X-Carry may have the "updated" internals, but the same design that allowed the upgraded P320s to go off is still present in the X-series guns. What I'm wondering about these ADs is the exact cause. IE, are the guns going off because the trigger is still moving backwards based on it's own inertia through the gun facing vibrations, OR is it the internal safeties failing such as the striker falling off the sear and the firing pin block not being able to retain it? The lawsuits will shed more light on these issues, but I can't purchase a P320 anymore. I was ready to buy an XCompact myself, but after reading about all these issues even on the upgraded guns? No friggin way.
@@MrHav1k Maybe I'll at the very least stop appendix carrying...
THE issue has been resolved by Sig Sauer adding two extra safeties to the trigger/sear group. It is safe.
With that said, *all firearms are inherently dangerous, due to human improper handling, negligence, incompetentence and user error, add up a faulty holster, incorrect holstering, and lack of common sense and logic* ... Tnere you have the accidental discharges.
I own 3 Sig Sauer models, the P320 M17, the X Five, and the X Compact, with zero issues, no complains, except praises for their outstanding accuracy, reliability, great ergonomics and amazing smooth trigger pulls.
There's nothing wrong with Sig
The government saved 100milion dollars buying the sig but the demanded an external safety
I'm pretty sure that was part of the original spec
It was a requirement that had to be met to even qualify.
All military service pistols have manual safeties. It's part of the requirement.
If you carry a gun loaded with no external safety you take the risk
The internal safety works fin on these. No need for external. Just keep your finger off the trigger
Most modern day carry guns have no external safety. In fact, it's actually taught in CCW classes that weapons with an external safety (that is utilized) is not recommended.
My personal opinion is, if you can't carry a weapon safely without an external safety, you shouldn't be carrying a firearm.
I haven't done the trigger upgrade, but mine has the manual safety, I feel pretty good about that.
Yours may already have it.
I actually got rid of my Glock to buy the P230 compact 45 it’s amazing tool to have on your side when and need it shoots like a 9mm and all the rounds threw it not one problem.
That's why training is important
I bought new M17 and M18 both with the manual safety. I will carry my Sig 229 mostly but feel safe WITH the manual safety.
Its a personal choice. Be sure to build the muscle memory to disengage the safety if you ever need it
This is interesting, I was just about to buy a P320 compact as a first handgun. Will have to wait till this settles out, or consider something else.

226/320 owner. That 320 has so much going for it. It's the only pistol I own that will fire any ammunition every single time reliably. That's really unfortunate, because I will not chamber a round in this thing until I have it at the range, pointed at the target. Mine stays in the safe . . . until Sig decides to buy it back.
I can agree with you on that. I've carried it with one in the chamber in the past but not sure about it anymore
Not a problem......until it goes off in your holster. I bought one in February of 2020 and had to send back. The trigger wouldn't reset. Sig did fux but I lost faith in its reliability. Too many other great guns out the with less risk.
Lot of great guns out there. Carry what you're comfortable with.

I'm a fan of both but completely understand your concerns. I think the issue is resolved in the newer guns but don't carry what you aren't comfortable with.
if a gun is "more of a range toy for me" ie, used outside of real world settings, than why own it?
Because shooting is fun.
@@BoomStickTactical of course it is. Doesn't really answer the question though does it? Maybe for you it does. Where I come from, we train for real world application. I’ve had a few Sigs, few glocks and a few M&ps. Right now I only have glocks and m&ps. If you look at it from an engineering standpoint, most of not all striker fired handguns with the exception of Glock has the striker cocked. Glock is half cocked. The contact surface from the trigger bar/sear to the striker/firing pin on the P320 is very small. And for it being fully cocked, it’s concerning. There are two springs holding up the sear on the P320 and one big one for the M&p. The Glock is built into the movement of the trigger bar. Won’t go down unless pulled to the rear. It doesn’t take much force at all to overcome the sear springs and send the striker forward. Simply dropping it can induce a negligent discharge. Not okay. Not fit to be carried. With that being said the P320 is a smooth shooter, and being able to swap calibers as easy as they made it is pretty sweet. To even change the size of it on the fly is nice. Not a bad firearm just poorly designed FCU and oversight to get the US government contract.
That's why I Carry Glock
Same here. I trust Glock with every day use. Smith and Wesson isn’t too bad either though, I like the trigger.
I also agree with your statement about the p320 striker and sear. But if that was the case wouldn't the firing pin block catch the striker before it could fire? Not being a smart ass, honestly just trying to figure out what could be happening.
@@JAD77755 that's actually the real question. The older p320s clearly didn't stop the striker the way they should. Does the newer 320 have the same issue?
@@BoomStickTactical well with the pre upgrade ones the trigger was being pulled due to inertia when the gun was dropped. So when the trigger was pulled it disengaged the firing pin block, as it should. But with these guns in holsters there's no rearward force on the trigger so the block shouldn't be deactivated. A faulty firing pin block is grounds for emergency recall. I hope it gets fixed because I love my 320s. But this is a serious issue, brand loyalties aside.
Edit: some fat finger typos.
I unfortunately own one. It has been upgraded, I seldom carry it....but due to the recent reported issues.... It will sit in the safe until it is resolved.
My question is, if the upgraded versions are how the M17/18 were designed (with exception of a external safety of course), how long until the government lights a fire under Sig's tail with investigations?
I've tried several ways to make mine go off and can't get it to. I think its fixed myself but that's only one gun
They had fixed the p320. That is why they have the x series of p320.
The upgrade actually took some of the higher end components and made them part of all of them
You shouldn't be a Sig fan or a Glock fan. You should be a safety fan. This gun discharges on its own. There are already several people shot by both original and upgraded versions. Some have died! Do your homework people. Even the Sig holster you show on the table with your upgraded 320 is defective!!! The holster is designed wrong. the trigger is exposed on the body side. No holster should ever expose the trigger.
There's nothing wrong with the newer Sigs
@@BoomStickTactical I cant believe you are so close minded over this. Like I said, do your homework. Talk to all of the Officers that have gotten shot from a holstered Sig. Talk to the parents of a 15 year old in Florida that is DEAD! Talk to the husband in Colorado who's wife is DEAD! Watch the videos that show the guns going off in holsters! Look at the sear/striker engagement. There is hardly any surface contact between these parts because of the way they are manufactured. (MIM). Also, Sig removed the safety lever spring which causes the safety to become disengaged. Sig says they now rely on "gravity" to lower the safety lever but it stays out maintaining contact with the safety lock. WTF! It's in their new armorers manual. READ IT! As far as the sear is concerned, there isn't enough contact surface making contact with the striker because of MIM "rollover". Look at the parts under magnification or x-ray like I have before you make blanket statements.
Sig has been bad about admitting wrong doing the past. One of the large state LE agencies had huge issues with I believe the 226. They finally traded them in. I haven't purchased a Sig since. Have looked at older West German models.
I hope they can make a comeback
These police women, 2 I read about, say it was holstered & just went off? Sound impossible... But
I'm working on an updated video on the sig to show exactly what would have had to happen for the gun to just go off.
Man the die-hard Sig Sauer fans are out in force and vicious. I have one of these pieces of shit, and I'm here to tell you..They. Are. Not. Safe! I've had several glitches of negligent misfired..only at the range thank God. Particularly when ejecting a spent mag and inserting a new one...on 4 different occasions, as soon as the new mag is put in..the gun WITHOUT MY FINGER ON THE TRIGGER..drops the slide and cycles! I don't carry it..I don't even keep it loaded! Sig was my favorite for a long time..had a 250 and a 226. So all you guys screaming about the lawsuit being bullshit.. You're wrong! Glock forever!

Glocks are a better piece. I don't love how Glocks feel, but I shoot Glocks better than any other , go figure.
Glocks are a great gun. These are great also but the issues of the early models are hurting their reputations.

*Short answer: NO.* The abortion that is the P320 is inherently flawed and I doubt that even the Sig/Zev collaborative variant can be un-FUBAR'ed. I won't buy a Sig now that I see the company has been dishonest and opaque about the P320 from day 1, rather than just owning up to their screwup and recalling ALL of them! 'Fixed' 320's have continued to fire on their own EVEN AFTER the 'upgrade'!!
That's why I carry Glock. The issues surrounding it have me concerned enough to not carry this sig
" 'Fixed' 320's have continued to fire on their own EVEN AFTER the 'upgrade'!! " This is a load of unadulterated BS and you know it. Lets see some documented evidence to back up your ridiculous claims. If it were true the liberal press would be all over it.
@@SpyderTime Exactly. The 2nd gen P320 has been proven around the world in military, law enforcement and self defense. It's safe and reliable.
@@slickdaddy12 Well put Thanks, I had a miracle happen today. I just got back a little while ago from the range and one of the pistols I took was my Sig P320 compact that has been back to Sig for the upgrade. It didn`t decide to have a mind of its own and shoot me lol Take Care :)
SpyderTime one of the RUclips vids covering this mentioned times it has negligently fired post upgrade, and sig should own up to this being about a malfunction more then an “upgrade”
I'm really interested in the P320 for a while now, but the real question is if you buy the Manual Safety model, would these issues be eliminated? Would it make it reliable?
I am considering this to be my first firearm in the future, even though I'm used to the Glock 19 at the range.
You would be fine either way
Im all for opinions however there has been 0 cases of newer Sig p320s not firing, The officer who shot himself in the leg, we dont know if he did or didnt press the trigger nor do we know if he had an upgraded gun or not. I carry mine daily and trust it.
There have been several law enforcement incidents that the upgraded P320 has gone off in the holster with no user input. Several lawsuits are in the works.
There's a body cam video showing one.
These Sig p320s are not safe please buy American pistols 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Show me mechanically one of these guns that have failed. Not a video about someone having an issue. Show me the mechanical failure of the gun they had.
Its a Killer Gun 🤕
There's nothing wrong with sig
Don't drop it?...lol
They're fine now with the upgrades
Elon musk need to develop sig into a self firing gun like his self driving Tesla
Don't give him any ideaa
I got a p320 . It's a newer model but I still don't trust it. I'll just shoot it at the range. I will stick with g!ock
That's my choice also
Sig is ruined
At least this line of pistols are
Pretty much every gun on the market has had some typenof safety failure. So I will be relying on the police for my safety and you should too. Guns are dangerous!
That's nuts.
Haha, good luck with that.
Oh crap, I laughed so hard at that comment (relying on the police) I peed myself!!!! My laugh for the day!!!! Let's hope that was sarcasm!!! Lol
Wow...
LOL
I would not trust any gun that has a round in the chamber ready to fire.
You don't carry or train do you
