He could not make calls properly, data don't work etc. Cell reception and 5g in that area is quite good so works if he is on the balcony. He changed his gf phone to get wifi calling through his carrier (which is available here, similar to VoLTE but over wifi) and just relying on wifi inside the appartment. Don't know the appartment to appartment isolation but the exteriour wall is wade well.
The problem stills comes with the cost of boosting cell service in each apartment though. Tenants are going to be ticked it they move in only to find that their phone barely works at home.
Linus, pro tip on the painting... Yes, use the angle of the brush but flip the brush around so the point of the angle is facing the direction of travel. You can paint a longer and wider stretch with each brush stroke -- bristle length is directly proportional to capacity to carry paint and you want the bristles carrying the most paint leading the brush stroke. Once you get to this orientation (it definitely takes some practice because the bristles behave a little differently when fanning out), you'll find you have fewer instances of needing to go back over the area again to clean up paint streaks/trails.
I just want to say that Elijah is getting so good on camera. He is definitely becoming an on-screen personality. Keep it up Elijah. You're doing great. Keep him around Linus. He's good.
Linus and Elijah give a strong Father vs Barely Adult Son vibe in a very good way… they bounce off each other incredibly well. More videos with those 2 please xD
It's a little painful to watch these videos. A couple of years ago just before she passed away my mother was so convinced that EMF was making her sick that she had moved into the basement of her house. In the interest of protecting her from the consequences of living in the basement I turned her bedroom into a faraday cage. That specific graphite paint is one of the layers of blocking that I buried in the walls. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in her bedroom to this day
That sounds really distressing and intense both for you and for your mother. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. It sounds like you took great care of her, she was lucky to have someone so loving with her for those final years
@Kibannn she has set a pallet on the basement floor, and had poor circulation, combined with blood clots, and arrhythmia. She'd already had at least 2 strokes and visible clotting in her legs. The second stroke was bad enough that it left her partially blinded. She was refusing medical care and my sister didn't want her to die in the basement and then be accused of failing to care for her. The fundamental problem is that she was a trusting innocent person who had lived a generally sheltered life and when the conspiracy poison entered her life it ultimately consumed her. We as a species must combat toxic misinformation because it is literally killing people.
Only about halfway through the video but this is so cool had to pause to say so. Our family just helped to paint my step sons new house last weekend. Ahh the memories.
I always find it amusing how the general behind the scenes team just kind of stand there when Linus is doing one of his bits. They're like extras who were never given any direction lol.
Where that paint would really help is painting the backside of the drywall so it faces the studs so you dont even know it is there. And then you can do the entire house including the floors because you can paint the subfloor and the subceiling.
I'm not an expert but there is no such thing as a subceiling. Drywall is screwed directly to the framework. The subfloor however is true because it needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of everything on the floors. Then it just a decorating choice of carpet, tile, ect. Just like you said of painting the back side of the drywall before mounted will not work, how will you apply the continuous metal strip on the walls before you paint?
One better, drywall is in powder form at some stage of production. They can intergrate the graphite strait into the material, no paint layer required. You would still need to know to ground them tho
I loved this. One of my favorite videos recently. I always enjoy the home renovation videos but with this being something as simple as paint it was super cool. Would probably be amazing for high rises that want them to be smart homes
This is actually really interesting as since I moved into an apartment, my razer kaira pro (which uses a 2.4ghz connection for my xbox) has had repeated connection issues and now I realize its likely the other networks in my building that keep dropping it off
Finally a good use for American cardboard house walls !! You could paint one of the inside surfaces of those sheets with this paint and it will do its job and can be grounded on the inside. Meanwhile the outer wall which you can see doesn't need to go through a goth phase.
A few years ago i discovered how much better setting up a powerline for my gaming PC rather than using Wi-Fi. Its pretty cool you can just plug in this adapter to the router and put another one somewhere else in your house using your electric lines to connect anywhere in the house where there is an electrical socket.. works great I live in a really old house, but we have our Wifi router on the second floor and there are certain spots in the house that the WiFi doesnt work great... We have a wi-fi extender adapter too but for gaming a ethernet connection always works better

He changed his gf phone to get wifi calling through his carrier (which is available here, similar to VoLTE but over wifi) and just relying on wifi inside the appartment.
Don't know the appartment to appartment isolation but the exteriour wall is wade well.
Just put screen or foil under the drywall. Far cheaper.
The problem stills comes with the cost of boosting cell service in each apartment though.
Tenants are going to be ticked it they move in only to find that their phone barely works at home.
Problem is cell service though
This would be illegal in the US. FCC prohibits interfering with wireless signals. That includes cellular networks.
The perfect look of helplessness and shock on Elijah’s face. Gotta love it
😂🎨 Just when you think it's all about painting... then it's about fixing WiFi! 📶🤣 Loved the twist, so creative! 👏🙌
11:12 daddy Linus teaching his adopted son is so cute
😅
Never thought I’d see Linus giving valid painting techniques 😂😂 never knew he used to be a professional painter for abit damn
look up the paint rant.
He was soooo mad when his new house got painted (or was it the one before?) and the contractors were soooo bad :D He ranted about it for months.
An interesting video that is both informative and funny?
Damn LTT, you’re burning it up these days. 👍👍👍
5:33 that pillow is wild 💀
Could be worse, could be a shadow the hedgehog daki

Fantastic video idea, I also appreciate the call out about the company selling snake oil as well
Linus, pro tip on the painting...
I love seeing this genuine kind of father & son bonding time ♥
I just want to say that Elijah is getting so good on camera. He is definitely becoming an on-screen personality. Keep it up Elijah. You're doing great. Keep him around Linus. He's good.
This.
Elijah and Linus has the best onscreen chemistry. Love the Odd couple vibe in all their videos
This video wasn't on my radar, but now it's my entire map
"Hey, I know someone with a weak backbone!"
Elijah catching strays 💀💀😂😂
It sounds like you took great care of her, she was lucky to have someone so loving with her for those final years
what a 🥜 job 😂
What do you mean by the "consequences of living in the basement" ?
/gen
@chimpo131 probably was mentally deteriorating dude. Calm down. Even if not, psychosomatic symptoms are sadly still really felt.
We as a species must combat toxic misinformation because it is literally killing people.
i saw Elijah's reaction to the router at 3:42 and thought "theres no way thats not an over reaction" until i had basically the same reaction.
I appreciate they also made the cat black to protect it from the RF, top notch
Elijah is such a good sport 😂 good guy.. funny af. ❤
4:01 Linus almost had another hard R moment lol

@@darthdonkulous1810 guys I'm not complaining, it's just a funny moment
i love that the definition of foreshadowing starts scrolling when linus tells elijah that the paint will peel off the ceiling
This video is actually fantastic, and includes a free painting tutorial!
LOL that Elijah opening skit!
@@profwaldone at this point you can just add a thin foil layer into the drywall sandwich whic will probablyu be cheaper to manufacture
You can get drywall/plasterboard that is x-ray proof , we use it when we do doctor or vets rooms

5:30 hm, nice pillow
I like the intro 1:33 : it's also the summary of the video ("a tinfoil hat is cheaper")
Man i love Elijah he's such a perfect addition to LMG.
Hopefully they hire him on, ive never seen an intern so committed to his craft 🥰
@@DerekMartelldoes he not have a fixed contract?
I'm always left feeling like Linus enjoys painting more than tech tips.
Why is it so comical watching Elija and Linus... Like they brothers, like Linus is trying his best to be a dad. Lol I love it
Having your Millionaire Boss paint your house is pretty funny. Go Elijah!
I loved this. One of my favorite videos recently. I always enjoy the home renovation videos but with this being something as simple as paint it was super cool. Would probably be amazing for high rises that want them to be smart homes
18:07 "MMS" i think i aged a decade hearing that
y'know, i get what you mean, but MMS is still in use a lot (i could _not_ tell you why)
2:30 Thank you for the free paint! Now, screw these guys and all the other stuff on their website!
Promote the worthy, trash the unworthy.
That matt black look of the graphite paint looks really nice. It really needs a matt clear coat over it.
He wasn't alive when the Star Wars Kid was doing his magic
Why you gotta make me feel old??
Props to the camera operator for trying to keep the waifu pillow and creeper in frame!🤓
Is that the pewdiepie pc ?
Isn't kind of weird saying that with an anime pfp?
This is actually really interesting as since I moved into an apartment, my razer kaira pro (which uses a 2.4ghz connection for my xbox) has had repeated connection issues and now I realize its likely the other networks in my building that keep dropping it off
Finally a good use for American cardboard house walls !! You could paint one of the inside surfaces of those sheets with this paint and it will do its job and can be grounded on the inside. Meanwhile the outer wall which you can see doesn't need to go through a goth phase.
Or.. you can wrap the inside in aluminum foil an get the same results without spending that amount in fancy graphite paint.
Painting popcorn ceiling black is so bad☠️
It’s funny when you hear silly talking about “cardboard houses” it’s like calling brick houses dirt houses.
This is the best father son relationship ive seen
A few years ago i discovered how much better setting up a powerline for my gaming PC rather than using Wi-Fi. Its pretty cool you can just plug in this adapter to the router and put another one somewhere else in your house using your electric lines to connect anywhere in the house where there is an electrical socket.. works great
I live in a really old house, but we have our Wifi router on the second floor and there are certain spots in the house that the WiFi doesnt work great... We have a wi-fi extender adapter too but for gaming a ethernet connection always works better
I love that when Elijah moves out of that apartment, the next person is going to get horrible cell service, lol
Elija's "No, Please Don't" Felt like Linus actually broke into his house to paint it Black
I really enjoy Elijah and Linus interactions.
13:39 "who painted my cats?"
2025... the return of leaded paint.... just pencil lead instead of other lead lol 😅
Well, pencil lead is made of Graphite, a form of Carbon, and is definitely conductive, so it might actually work... if you can apply enough layers.
@gh8447 umm, you've just commented on a video where they do it and show it working... lol
It's graphite, bro. Not 'lead'.
@@-_-----It's a pun. The graphite in pencils is sometimes called "pencil lead", as actual lead was the original thing that was used to draw in that way, until someone figured out how to make a graphite pencil.
@@nikkiofthevalley No point in trying to be soft in your reply to them as their aggressive ignorance doesn't require politeness. Not 'sometimes', all the time. Literally still is the product name when you are buying mechanical pencil refills.
I always love projects involving Elija 🤗

5:39, waifu body pillow detected, and it looks like from genshin impact? i dont know her name, good choises Elijah

It's the waifu from the Redmagic phone.
A real, useful utility of this paint is in guitars - guitar pickups can pickup radio waves so painting the inside of the guitar can drastically reduce white noise.
