I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and I am absolutely in love with it. The watch is an upgrade over its old 40mm variant in every way. It wears much better, isn't as bulky and the bracelet and bezel refinement give the watch a little more presence and luxury feeling while still being a proper tool watch. For me, this is the ultimate vintage inspired diver that you can actually take on an adventure and I much prefer it to my old BB58 for that reason. The only criticism I have is that the rubber strap the watch comes with is too large and untucks easily. But that is easily solved with an aftermarket option. Keep up the great work Oris and Teddy!

I got the blue version and I can already tell it’s going to be my most worn watch for the foreseeable future. I also agree with the rubber strap. The taper at the end is way too aggressive as well. Looks dainty and too long. I ordered a black rubber Delugs strap

As soon as this watch was announced i fell for it. I decided to order and I just received my Divers Date, black dial, 2 days ago. First off, the unboxing experience left a lot to be desired for the price. The box/packaging look and feels very cheap. I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
I wish they would’ve kept the negative date on the new blue dial model like they did for the black dial version. Much easier to read with white numbers.
And it still comes with a "base" grade SW200 that is completely undecorated, a display case back made from mineral glas instead of sapphire and a clasp with no on-the-fly micro adjustment? Sorry, at that price point I expect better specs and not just the bare minimum.
@@brandoGTR48 The do but you should never hand wind to full. Just a bit to get the second hand going. Your kinetic energy does the rest. It's not a dealbreaker for me. The mineral glass on the caseback and the last-century clasp tech is woeful and unforgivable. Lazy Oris. Fkn lazy.

I may be unpopular in my opinion, but I wish they’d kept the minute markers all the way around the bezel like the 65, but most importantly kept the solid case back! Oris has a beautiful logo and the red rotor doesn’t really do it for me, if it was the Caliber 400 then I’d understand, but this movement isn’t really much to marvel at. Otherwise I LOVE the blue dial with black bezel.
Price wise too close to Longines Legend Diver 39mm, which I personally would chose every day. Other than that, I love the size, black on black looks good and I would love to see on a fly adjustable clasp.
Nice review. I think I would just save up and get a Tudor. As another option, I got a Baltic. No date function, but a good watch for the price point. I really like Oris, I have two, including the Father Time Big Crown Pointer Date. I’m just not sure this release does much at this price point where the competition is pretty stout.
Tudor feels better in hand for sure. But they are still too big for 6.5-6.75 inch wrists. Also too many people wear those. It’s like going out somewhere and seeing someone with your outfit on. Oris is for watch enthusiasts. Rolex/tudor has become mostly for pretentious douchbags.
I own an Aquis and I love it.. At $2700 for this I’d really be expecting an upgraded movement in the cal 400.. love its minimalistic design and size case but I don’t want one.. I’ll continue the quest for the larger bulkier Tudor monochrome 41 spec monster! Great video as always Teddy
The Tudor 41 Monochrome is the diver watch to buy in this price category. Oris Caliber 400 are lower priced alternatives but the SW 200 based Oris divers are overpriced. Better get a Squale 1521. Half the price, better specs, better case and heritage, same movement.

I’m waiting for the day they make a 38mm BICO. like u said, due to the dial to bezel ratio, their dials tend to look bigger (at least with their 65 line), so it would visually come off more like 39. To me, it should be their flagship as far as their vintage looking stuff goes because as far as i know, there’s nothing else out there QUITE like it. It’s just that its pie pan proportions don’t look its best at 40mm. Especially not on small to medium wrists. As much as I love it, for me it could be better size-wise. Maybe if they ever release a BICO like that, it’ll have the improved specs like this one does. I personally don’t mind an off the shelf movement as long as it performs well.
Love Oris, have the light blue heritage divers 65, I honestly would have liked them to produce something a lot closer to the original heritage model, like the flutes on the bezel etc. bit lazy imho.

It's a nice watch, but I am not looking for another dive watch at this time. I have a Squale watch with a vintage look which satisfies my dive watch interests for now. The other drawback to this Oris Divers Date watch is its 19mm lug width. Why not have 18mm or 20mm lug width? I especially like NATO straps on dive watches, and it's hard to find them in 19mm.
Teddy, it's admirable that you donate 2 dollars to charity for every dollar you spend on watches. What charities do you support and how can we, your subscribers, help in supporting the same charities. Thank you
Thanks for your consistently high level of professional informative horological updates. I just picked up my first Oris: a 38mm steel in Cotton Candy Blue. Fits my wrist perfectly although I have mostly 40-43mm watches in my collection.
Personally, I think it's a shame that Oris is still using Selita SW-200 movement and ask for the watch +2000£. Seriously, you can buy almost 3 Christopher Wards divers with same Selita SW200 for this price, or you can buy 1 Titanium Christopher Ward diver Lumiere with Selita SW-300 that's gonna be superior to the Oris watches with Selita SW-200 in any part of comparison. I think Oris need to calm down a litle bit with their prices increases, because they are going already in the Tudor,Breitling, price range category but their quality and features stay's in the Hamilton and Certina category.
@@itsalexc91 I have nothing against Oris, I also own a Oris 65 with Selita SW-200 and I can buy it new with 45% discount from a Jewellery shop for 1050£ with leather strap, but I also have a Cristopher Ward diver with Selita SW-200, and I buy it for 680£ with metalic bracelet and there is no difference in quality between them, both are good, but Oris prices are crazy. I know Oris is a older brand with better history , they don't make any quartz watches, only Automatic but brooo, 2000£ for Selita SW-200 is crazy, even Tudor 1926 with Selita SW-200 , costs like 1700£. Or Oris need to change the movement to put at least SW-300 or to decrease prices a little bit.
What’s missing in the lineup now is a classic looking GMT. The existing GMT part of the Aquis look is way too large. I could see a GMT rootbeer from this diver look, similar to a Tudor BlackBay GMT. Any thoughts?
Hey Teddy, I just got my dream job offered to me, it’ll be in the mid 100’s for salary. I’d love to get a watch to mark the occasion as it’ll be my first job (in college rn). What would you recommend, outside of Rolex?
I have five Oris in my stable, one of which is the OG Diver 65 blue dial (off for service) from 2015. I prefer the 40mm and it wears perfect for my wrist size. Oris is a great brand with a loyal following. The Diver 65 is a great way to discover Oris.
@@benedekgabor. this is about aesthetics, there is no question about fixing anything, it's about options and novelty. especially in the world of watches either is what gets you noticed (and bought). if you aint trying to do that, you'll soon have an economical problem that will need fixing. There is a lot of competion in this price bracket of 2000- 4000 bucks. And there is a lot of options that basically look the same and wear the same like this Oris for a lot less. Like from Squale or Aquastar. I dont think Oris is a better brand, if so it's marginal, and with the skin divers from Squale or Aquastar for instance you actually get better movements or better versions of the same movement. But there is also tons of micro brands that harvest the same market. I really dont see why you want want to shell out a couple of grand to get an unrecognisable design from a 4th or 5th tier brand. So yeah, Oris definitely needs fixing if they think they can live off of selling divers with a Sellita base mvmnt for almost 3 grand.
Awesome watch from a spec perspective... But I think my D65 bico has a charm and warmth this doesn't have. Still though a really great modern take on a classic
I find it a shame that so few makers have an offering of a light dial with a light bezel. Always going with the black bezel seems rather unimaginative to me.
So... I'm born n raised on Oahu, Hawaii. Grew up at the beach fishing, diving, surfing, everything you can do in the ocean and the ocean here in Hawaii is like no where else in the world. Fifty Fathoms? Oceanmaster? Marinemaster? Aquamaster? all these 'dive' watches no one would even wear those in the water. Here any item you take with you into the water has a chance of not coming back out of the water with you, a watch could get sucked off your wrist in a sec if you get caught in the surf. I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I love my Oris TT1 dive watches!

Teddy, it's admirable that you donate 2 dollars to charity for every dollar you spend on watches. What charities do you support and how can we, your subscribers, help in supporting the same charities. Thank you
I think the new Diver 65 models are too expensive for not having the 400 calibre in it.
Teddy, what make and model are your glasses? I like them a lot but can’t find the info anywhere.
Thanks for your consistently high level of professional informative horological updates. I just picked up my first Oris: a 38mm steel in Cotton Candy Blue. Fits my wrist perfectly although I have mostly 40-43mm watches in my collection.
Thank you bubbie 💙🦊
Should have the cal. 400
Any micro adjustment on the bracelet?
Does it have a diver extension?
Id love if they use the elabore movement
I have a small wrist. This will be perfect
Wow! Beautiful Oris! I like the black bezel & face version.
You're not wrong there, I love my Aquis Bracenet but Oris' are best picked up from the used or grey market IMO
Agreed. I'd expect COSC 2892 / SW300 for the asking price
Good reminder that ETA locked Oris out and won’t sell movement to them.
@@ADNeverCalling367 why? Because they won't let themselfes get bought like the rest?
What’s missing in the lineup now is a classic looking GMT. The existing GMT part of the Aquis look is way too large. I could see a GMT rootbeer from this diver look, similar to a Tudor BlackBay GMT. Any thoughts?
The $2 was so funny I immediately scrolled to the comments xD
What’s a good $1000 dressy dive watch to buy? Thanks
How does this thing compare to Mido Ocean star 39?
Teddy always looking sharp. I would love to see a one off video of teddy’s brand picks for clothing!
For 2.7k, a base Sellita model may not be too basic? I would naively expect a Top or Elabore. Maybe I am too optimistic.
Hey Teddy, I just got my dream job offered to me, it’ll be in the mid 100’s for salary. I’d love to get a watch to mark the occasion as it’ll be my first job (in college rn). What would you recommend, outside of Rolex?
2 dollars??? I’ll buy THREE of them, I’m crazaaay!
I have five Oris in my stable, one of which is the OG Diver 65 blue dial (off for service) from 2015. I prefer the 40mm and it wears perfect for my wrist size. Oris is a great brand with a loyal following. The Diver 65 is a great way to discover Oris.
It's crazy how unimaginative watch companies are. Same same but different since the 60s
It’s almost the same with guitars. Nostalgia sells. If it’s not broken, then don’t try to fix it? 🤷🏼♂️
There’s plenty of companies making hideous looking, modern designs. Some people prefer classic designs that never go out of style.
@@benedekgabor.👍🏻 Zero creativity, surprisingly unpredictably boring.🥱 cmon Oris!
Oris Homaged PROXIMA 😅
Teddy, you still haven’t learned from the Pontiff.
Oris = DOGSHIT!!!
ITS GOTTA HUUUUUUURT TEDDY! 😂
Is Oris still using outside source movement?
Fix the description. Someone forgot to delete the template parts.
Only 2$? 🙂Looks like a bargain. Great video as usual Teddy.
Teddy loves "pillars"
Awesome watch from a spec perspective... But I think my D65 bico has a charm and warmth this doesn't have. Still though a really great modern take on a classic
❤Hope they issue it in bronze with that blue. Ooooh i love my Oris❤
2700 $ is an insanely high price for what you get.
I find it a shame that so few makers have an offering of a light dial with a light bezel. Always going with the black bezel seems rather unimaginative to me.
Font size on rhe bezel could be bigger
Price for $200? I'll buy immediately
Beautiful.
Beige dial is the best imho
It happens to all of us. That entry gshock from a drug store for 40bucks *f91/xxx5600?* is most popular here if you need to keep time while in the water, just saying. Deskdivers is that a term for these watches?
Finally an Oris in human sizes
2 bucks?? I’ll take one of each!!
“Some will say this is just a divers 65”
Yes. It’s a divers 65. With some small tweaks. 19mm lug width? Not even an upgrade
