My favorite by far is the SRPE51. Dressy enough to wear out, but casual enough to wear everyday with shorts/jeans and a tshirt. Dark grey dial goes with everything. Incredible everyday watch.
I just bought my first Seiko 5 sports (SRPD53) along with a King Samurai (SRPE37) using your website for the first time last week, Teddy. I couldn't be more happy with both the watches as well as your website and the shipping and packaging. You definitely earned a repeat customer in me!
Over the last three years I have purchased over 20 watches and accessories as gifts from Teddy's team. They are truly a professionally customer focused team.
@@TeddyBaldassarreSeiko 5 is a watch collection dear to my heart. My Dad wore a Seiko 5 for 50 years. Now he is gone, I have his watch and it is still running….
Fantastic overview of the Seiko 5 watch collection! I love how you and your team are coming up with these great and necessary videos especially for us beginners. I'm expecting my Seiko Field SRPG27 prominently showcased in the beginning of that section of the video this week that I purchased from your website! I have a Seiko Presage which I love and looks gorgeous/classy especially when dressed up. But this time, I wanted something still dressy but more utilitarian in usage. I love the big numerals and vintage-vibe of the SRPG27. I wanted to be able to look at the watch and know instantly what time it is and not have to think about which dot or marker is the 1 or 2 numeral. Which is why I chose it BARELY over the SRPE53. Which I may also get further down the road. It's a simple, sleek and classy looking watch. It's so nice that you can get a really solid and lovely watch for a reasonable price. Keep them coming Seiko!
traveling south east asia for 6 months, bought the GMT seiko 5 with the black dial. So useful to see the time in my home country. The thing which makes it perfect is that i bought this Japanese movement in.. japan 🇯🇵
I enjoyed the video. I almost always do. But I wish you wouldn’t refer to watches like these as gateways, entry level, attainable, etc. This is quite pejorative. These are beautiful, full-function watches that serve many as daily professional and sports wear, and even as grail watches. These aren’t necessarily second choices, but rather smart choices. Not everyone is buying one of these while dreaming of buying a Rolex. Please accept this food for thought, rather than criticism.
They are entry-level though. Why does that term bother you. Some Seikos are $150, $200 bucks that's entry-level. No matter how you want to spin it. There's no fancy way of saying affordable or entry-level
I bought three Seiko watches in 2024, with two of them being a Seiko 5. I have the SRPE93 Turtle, SRPK31 38mm Seiko 5 Sport, and my recent purchase the SRPD51 blue dialed Seiko 5 Sport, which is becoming my go-to watch for casual wear.
My SRPG41 on a black NATO with a single gold stripe pairs super nice with the dial numeral colours. It's a real stunner, the photos online never do it justice.
I absolutely fall in love to this brand. It start with Seiko Presage Cocktail Time SRPJ17J1 (The Irish Coffee). And now I have more than 5 pieces of Seiko after 2 years. From old Seiko 5 7009-875A to a new Seiko 5's. I love them a lot. Maybe once I will buy something with Swiss movement. But I think Im still so young to buy something like that :D (Im just 35 y.o.) Maybe some Hamilton Khaki. But my heart still beats just for Seiko. And after this video I knew what I need to buy next :D I definitly need SRPK87. Love that design a lot. Thanks mr. Teddy for your videos, you open my eyes.
I love when you drop new seiko content! My favorite sub section of Seiko “5” are the field and new gmt’s. I bought the 2023 or 24 Seiko field anniversary with the tan dial and blue hands…absolutely love it.
My favourite everyday watches and I have several. Tend to pick up the older editions for under USD$200 at times (model specific) when the retailers have clearance sales….and the sales happen all year long 😁
Got a cream dial 38mm DiveKX to pick up at Teddy’s store last week. Great experience, great store! Plus got to stare at some Glashütte moon phase watches when I picked it up…
The 5KX is my favorite along with the field watch being a close second. I like simplicity but not minimalism. They day and date are the only complications I'm really interested in.
This video couldn’t come at a better time, looking to buy a SRPD ‘DiveKx’. Also very interesting to hear about the first sportsmatic 5, only problem now is that I want one.
Another great video. Always love your content and impressed by your knowledge and passion for everything watches ⌚️. My pick is the SRPH line, one of which I own. My son has a nice mix from across the Seiko 5 range.
i currently have an skx007 in my collection but i think i will love a ssk023 GMT field later on at some point knowing that i like watches in the size range 35mm-43mm
I have over 35 Seiko 5 watches, many shown in this video. If they were not worth it to me, I'd have way fewer, but I like them. One point that is always made in comments when Seiko is discussed it the "inferior" hardlex chrystal. I wear my watches daily, doing real world things and never baby them. You can examine every one of my watches with a high power magnifying glass and you won't see a mark. If hardlex is so much a deal breaker, I haven't seen evidence in my collection. Of course YMMV.
I work heavy construction and after years of use, with some small scratches. I decided to 'upgrade' to sapphire. Lasted a year with no scratches, then shattered one day. I'm back Hardlex, and I am happy.
I have nothing against Honda, but I'm not all that into the car company per se. However, that Green/White Honda edition is a good lookin' watch that I would totally wear.
Teddy, it would be great to have an interview with someone from Seiko. The brand seems to be at a crossroad. The watch community has a lot to complain about - price increases, quality control, etc.
Bell & Ross watch brand next video please 🙏 because there different to other watch brands the Square case, instruments, Aviation etc… deserves more attention.
I'm about to buy a watch for the first time ever, I'm 22 I know nothing about watch but i want something that is affordable yet looks classy so I came across Seiko 5s. The SRPD61k1 is the one the really caught my attention, is this a good watch to start with? Question for watch experts on the comments🙏
Hi Teddy. Can you please help me identifying the year made for my Seiko Chronograph Sport? It was passed on to me from my late father 8 years ago and I can’t find a look a like on any website I search.
I already walked into a Watch Store in my Spain-Holidays and searching for the SSK023. As we know, it has no Sapphire-Crystal… but the Hardlex-Mineral Glas. I knew it also, and as I was in the store I decided to not buy this watch because of that. I would really appreciate if the Teddy’s Team would give a Feedback to Seiko to update this watch. Then it would be a no-brainer!
I thought.... 5KX is just another name for the Seiko 5 watches that looked like SKXs And what is called 5KX in this video is actually referred to as "DressKX"... Correct me if I am wrong
Been a Seiko fan for a while. So much character and art across the lineup
100%. If a collector doesn't have at least one Seiko in their collection, they aren't really living, or they may be a sob. 😂
@@WatchesBeAwesomelmaooo delusional teddy simps. Seiko is garbage and no serious collector would touch this trash

Got the Seiko 5 GMT as a gift from my wife last Oct 😁

Exactly what I have been looking for , new watch enthusiasts and I see Seiko as the gateway to the club . Thank you 🙏🏽
Recently bought the SRPG29. My first foray into mechanicals, thank you. Can’t wait to try it out.
Proud owner of a 5kx black face, wear it everyday and never get tires of it. Quality is just superb
Great video, Teddy. I purchased an SRPD55 a few weeks ago. It's a phenomenal timepiece. I highly recommend the Seiko 5 collection.

The SSK021 was my first mechanical watch! I added the SRPE53 shortly after. Love the Seiko 5 line. You could build an entire collection out of them

I bought a Sub before I bought a Seiko.
Fully agree, with 20 years of watch collecting, some Longines Rolex and Omegas sitting in the box, I still go and buy Seiko 5‘s!
Guess he didn't like your comment..😅

Pick up a Seiko 5 Sports SRPD65K from Myers in Australia the other day for $200 I couldn’t believe it! Couldn’t be happier with that steal!
Interesting split. In my head, the SKX case with no rotating bezel is the DressKX. And 5KX are both the Dress and the Dive 🤷♂️
Im about to buy my first seiko, Great video 💪🏼
Vintage Seiko 5s are also amazing! So much character in their older catalogue
I loved the video, we need a similar one within the Prospex range and to differentiate the families, for example the diver's watches
That would be a two part video😂
Just got the new Seiko 5 HUF SRPL33. Love it with the green glass case back.
I wear my snx almost everyday, i added a jubilee to it and it looks amazing. thinking about getting an oyster for it as well

I’m glad the Seiko 5 collection is once again expanding beyond just sports and military watches 🎉
Got prev generation of SNSX in Japan month ago for around ~$100, super happy with it!
Great rundown! Bought a SSK003 from you a few months ago, and it’s become my daily. Wish it were a traveler GMT, but other than that, I love it!

Very good video for this awesome Seiko collection! I love my SRPD93. Purchased at Costco for $179 USD🎉
I had to look up that Street Fighter collaboration, those designs are WILD lol

Check out the seiko 5 spots gmt yuto horigome special edition. The black color with blue/purple bezel is amazing
The black gmt and the pilot ❤
Teddy, you never mention the third SSK field GMT, the Japan exclusive white dial. I have it straight from Tokyo but I wish you’d mention it.
Wen are you shipping to Canada, Teddy? 🙏

please do a prospex collection guide

I've the SRPH87K1. It's a hybrid between Seiko 5 and Seiko presage

AFAIK, models mentioned as 5KX here -- were known as DreSKX in watch community before
I’d love a video on seiko “tanks”. Teddy would you be so kind?
GMT and dresskx are my favs
My pick?! The field watch
SRPK with the Kit Kat markers and a SSK GMT!!!
I wish they bring back Seiko 5 Sportsmatic lineup, it could have passed as a dress watch with a sharp leather strap despite the name.
My only complaint with the Seiko 5 is the clear case back leading to them being chunky on wrist.
SSK035 GMT... Yes please ❤️❤️
Could you possibly mention available place in Yangon (Myanmar)
Teddy, whats your no.1 seiko watch? Pls and thanks 🙏
Awesome products
There are two for me, the GMT's and the special editions
I love my Bruce Lee Seiko 5. The dragon on the dial is so cool.

Teddy, can you do a Seiko Presage Classic spb 464 review?
need you to deep with information about models like alpanist and other famous models
Hey man loved the video
Are there any chances for SNKP17K1 successor in the future by Seiko?
Liked this
Happy New Year Teddy (:
Seiko 5 with its 5 standards and the Tissot PRX with its 3 Standards kinda similar in concept ?
I wear inly Seiko and Lorus ❤
Wasn‘t it the SNX series (Instead of SNXS)? I own a SNX115 which is very similar to the SNXS79
Where does the SZNH57 fit into this historically?
Citizen needs more love.
Never thought I'd hear Teddy mention Naruto or One Piece
Nice video
This guy is a treasure
I love my SRPE77. I even wear it to bed sometimes.
Seiko5 is the best watch for everyday carry.
