Live composite is amazing. Your idea was great and the result is fine! I have the Olympus Pen-F and my first live composite photos were at new years eve with all the fireworks in the sky but through a closed window because my dog went crazy about the noise. It was a spontaneous idea 10 minutes before! The results were good. I love that Live Composite.
Man, if Olympus could balance a few things out with their models with a better form of writing video files to storage, 60fps 4k capture, this would be a stellar camera system for all.
I live two hours from the bridge and haven't seen it in over 5 years. When some restrictions are eased then I think I will visit it again. I hope other camera manufacturers follow Olympus' lead with the dual batteries and card slots.
Advancing Your Photography - Taking cumulative exposures without overwriting previous written image data. Lots of creative potential. My Olympus arrived Wednesday.
We had a great time testing this feature out, and I'm looking forward to using it again! What do you think of the live composite feature? What kind of image would you want to capture using live composite?
Cool feature, I forgot Olympus is bringing some computational photography into shooting in the field. I wonder how the image would differ from a regular long exposure if used for one of my favourite styles, which is trails of specular highlights on nearly still water. Here is an example I shot (albeit with a comparatively short exposure) with calm lake water and moonlight: flic.kr/p/2j5Wg2q
I need your advice am trying to use live composite in my Olympus em1 mark iii but not active why? although i can reach it from menu but not active when shopping any clue?
Great stuff! I think your base shot had too much exposure though. Lower the exposure or start shooting later :-) The great thing is this feature is already in the cheapest Olympus camera, you don't need the top model to do this trick!
@@marcsilber The trick is to get your exposure right before you enter live composite. So, first take a test shot the way you normally should to get a good exposre and leave the settings as such, then go into live composite and adjust just the live composite settings (number of exposures per time unit). That way the base sot is correct and the shot will work out properly.
This was fast, Olympus knew better, you said on your show that you would like to try it, by they way its in your doorsteps. That when company care about the customer and their future customers too. Just this functions has me uh, let me rent one. I live in hilly areas, light trails sounds good

Yes they are a cool feature. Lots of fun finding different subjects to use it with

Very cool feature!!! Hope you show more of it. So many possibilities.
I will for sure.

yes make the trip, post some photos on facebook.com/groups/AYPCLUB/
Ja. You couldn’t resist it after the other day’s video. I was also like “what is that thing that Olympus can do?”
exactly, after seeing what Lauren was doing with it I knew I had to try it for myself!
Super interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! What was most interesting for you?

Funfairs, lighted fountains and moving clouds all work well, as well as light trails. Yet to do lightning
I'm gonna be trying as many as I can!

Nice effect. Dream like
Everywhere I read live composite is only up to 60 sec. Am I missing something? That's way too short for star trails etc.
I have thought of buying Olympus, just for that feature!
It’s cool

You need to be in bulb mode to access live comp
Ricoh GR does it too.

could be , but as you saw this was my first time out with it ;) I'll go back when I have some more experience
@@marcsilber I did not say I was any better at my first (or second) try. I exposed way too low :-)
It’s a bit trick to get the right exposure. Any tips? And adjusting exposure compensation- where is it when you’re in live composite?

I'm surprised no other camera brands have done this before .
Ya Olympus seems to have perfected it.

Great let me know how it goes
I need to try this, maybe i can see a UFO too. 😀👽
haha let us know!

😂👍
How does it not overexpose?
it only adds new light sources to the base image
Live comp is very useful and yields many creative opportunities. I sent you a pic on IG @johnny_concrete_
