    This brings back many memories for me...I was on Lake Thun some years ago and got some great shots there at Interlachen and Grindelwald. Get to Murren if you can! Unfortunately I was shooting Canon and wish I had my Olympus back then for live composite!. Thanks for the show!

      Wow that murren place looks epic! I was in laurerbrunnen last year but didn't drive further in that valley. Infortunatly I'm already back home so it has to wait untill a next visit. If you liked this the watch tomorows video also. In that video I'm spending more time in the same area. Grt guido

    The appearance of light trails depends heavily on the aperture used. Since you have used an aperture of f/2.8, the light trails are very wide. Stopped down to f/8, for example, they would be thinner. If there are more cars travelling in one direction, simply hold something in front of the lens in between so that you don't capture too many light trails in this direction. My thoughts on this 🤷

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  6 месяцев назад +3

      That might be possible. I'm going to experiment some more with this feature over the next few weeks. Quite enjoying it. Holding something before the lens would have been a great idea. I think there were about 50 cars driving towards me and maybe 5 away from me. I guess the camera just overruled the reds with all those headlights. Damn now I have to go back to that spot again 😅 thanks for watching and your comment! Grt guido

    • @michaelhall2709
      @michaelhall2709 6 месяцев назад +1

      The results are also very dependent on the exposure time selected; in this case I suspect it was too long. I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago while shooting a fireworks display on Coranado Island. The exposure time was set for several seconds when it should probably have been more like a quarter or half-second. The images were still nice, but the fireworks were too blown-out. Like anything else, it takes experimentation and practice.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  6 месяцев назад +1

      @michaelhall2709 now I'm wondering how do you do that when you are standing in pitch darkness then? You need a longer exposure time to show something of the environment. If I make it shorter I will probably only see the light. But enough reason to experiment haha will search for a nice bridge over the freeway to do some testing 😄

    • @michaelhall2709
      @michaelhall2709 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@GuidoVanDeWater Exactly. You need to select an exposure time that will show those nice lights in the background without blowing out the streaks from the car lights. Like everything else in photography it’s a balancing act. 😊 The advantage of Live Composite is that you can see your results in real time and adjust your settings accordingly.

    Hi Guido, funny I feel like following you. Over the weekend we moved from Zürich and Graubünden to the Berner Oberland. We are at moment on a camping at Lake Brienz which is on the opposite side of Interlaken. Beautiful area, just amazing. Would love to have white big Bertha with me. Swiss Air Force from Meiringen Airbase performs fantastic manoeuvres here, also great place for plane spotting. I’ve also seen great scenarios with birds, Swans, Eagles, it’s a spectacular place.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  6 месяцев назад +1

      Next time I am going to spend a week in Swiss. Absolutely amazing! I actually visited Lake brienz also. Drove around it, and there are a couple of shots from it in this Sundays video also. I took a briljant shot ( if I may say that of my own images ) of a little island in the lake. I actually wanted to do the jungfraujoch train to the top, but with the whole family, it was ridiculously expensive, so we had to skip that. We also visited the aareschucht and last year, lauterbrunnen, grindelwald, and the blausee. All areas that are absolutely worth visiting, so if you're still around there, make sure to check them out. I'm already back home, so you're not following me around anymore 🙂 enjoy you're time and if you have some nice images, feel free to share them. It's always nice to see 🙂 thanks for watching. Definitely i will try the life composite function, to be honest I have to say that I like the 60s more. And of course great location in Switzerland. Are you familiar with the Lauterbrunnen valley?

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  6 месяцев назад +1

      You are right about that the stripes in the 60s image were better. Someone commented that I should have used a higher aperture for those shots. Live compoisot would have also made striped according to him. So a reason to go back there again some day 😅 last year I was in lauterbrunnen. Amazing place but this year we didn't have the time. Tomorow there is another episode from the interlaken area. Thnx for watching grt guido

      Yes my wife is really supportive in what I do so I'm really gratefull for that. In the end she knows I feel much better en calmer when I've been out with the camera for a while. But I've always been back before breakfast so sometimes they didn't even notice that I was gone haha. Do you think it's valluable information? I did it a couple of time but there was so much information underneath the video it looked a bit disturbing. I finished this sundays video But I will try it in the video for next week let me know what you think of it. Probably thursdays or sundays video. Thanks for watching and your comment.
