I placed top three at a local photo contest a few years ago off a lumix bridge camera. It's still one of my personal favorites from Pilot Mountain in North Carolina.

Good to see you back home again. The newest software can breathe new life into old images. Some wonderful wildlife Photographs too. Good information on what companies like National Geo are looking for. What would you call the images wit people in? Lifestyle? Keep up the great work.
Good question what to call those images... mien was in ghe culture category so maybe it's culture? I guess it depends on the story that comes in the image. In fact I wasn't away from home but I was very busy with all kinds of projects lately and then of course spending needed time with the family. I do agree about the storytelling aspect of photography nowadays, which I’ve been trying to work on as I keep saying in my channel, and one reason I started doing street. 😂 more “stories” to be told within the city to practice with at least. Your wildlife and people in the photos are another thing, focusing on some action or movement within the subject.

Congratz Guido for the nomination. Thats awesome. I never won a photo competition or been nominated, cause I never applied to one. However I showed my pictures, which were made with my Nikon camera to some amateur photographers and friends, aswell to my instructors of the two photography courses I did last year and the year before that and they were very surprised of my pictures. All were saying that I have a hidden talent. And they even said, my instructors and my friends, that some of my photos, which I have shown, are potential nomination pictures. All are still in raw format and I still have to edit them, but I was very depressed few years back and my father died last year and this year a good friend, but next year im going all in...if God will let me. God created light, so I always thank God for the pictures, cause He deserves all the credits. I simply love the OM-1 Mark ii and the 40-150mm 2.8 lens I bought. Amazing combo in my opinion. Still waiting for the cashback, but that will come I hope. The menu in camera is simply the best I have seen. Im thinking of doing one of your workshops next year, if the weather is a bit warmer. Anyway...long story short 😂...keep it up Guido, cause you are such a great photographer and you deserve a big win in any competition.

Ik heb een hele stapel oude Natuurfotografie magazines van Marktplaats, en in één ervan staat Theo Bosboom die uitlegt dat hij in zijn beginjaren fotoseries maakte van een onderwerp/verhaal en vervolgens met die series in beeld kwam bij Nat.Geo. Hoi Guido In de eerste plaats van harte gefeliciteerd met het behalen van de 3e plaats bij national geograpigh je hebt het dik verdiend. Mijn doel voor het volgende jaar is om er veel op uit te trekken en mijn fotohobby te reanimeren. Ik heb er erg veel zin in. Komende week ga ik naar Cameranu in Utrecht om te kijken of ik voor de Canon R1 ga of naar het Om-systeem overstap . In Utrecht liggen dan speciaal voor mij de Canon R1 en de Om-1 MK II met de 150-400 klaar om te kijken wat voor mij de beste keuze is. Met vriendelijke groet

I don't use squarespace. I'm looking into to moving my website to them but it's a long term project. I have a custom build home/ php website and I included a webshop from ecwid into that. Thanks for watching and your comment. Grt guido
TODAY IS THE DAY.. When I just want to respect you Guido for keeping personality and just beeing yourself, even after becoming an ambasador. There are some names in this industry that were doing great content BEFORE joining strict manufacturer "promote policy" videos, and losing themselves in that content. While you still beeing yourself, having real fanbase, with some bond, the rest of them is just... a joke.. they became empty channels with tons of views, hundread thousands of views.. just promoting new stuff from their manufacturer and these are the only new videos that appear on their channel since then. For sure it is boring for them, but they won't tell it, as they agreed for something. Can't say who, but this is how it is, and I can't stand that.. but IT'S JUST TOO OBVIOUS by looking on their content. Personally I feel offended with this acting, because I offer trust in someone, and then they just treat is as pure business. I thought there are 2 people I follow there on youtube, TO THIS DAY, as one of them deleted my comment after saying that. Seems he is one of them too, great to know. So you are now the only one seem to be a real person on this platform, and generaly speaking in this world who do what he loves, do his job to promote the brand, and still be himself. The rest is just trying to survive. Thanks!
Wow what a comment. You are putting some pressure on me now haha. To be honest I don't know how to be different then I am. This is who I am and I just shown what I do. The good and the bad days that's what indecided when instarted. If i don't his then I do it to inspire people and not to showcase how good I am. In fact I am by far my worst criticaster and for years I though that everything I did was crap. But the beauty of this channel is the audience that I got. People relating to what I do and sharing the passion. My lectures are always about inspiration and not so much technical. I hate videos with do this and don't that. i hope everyone takes from my videos what they find useful l. I think the bigger channels are just trying to make a living in a very difficult marked to earn some money. I guess my disease put me in a position where I can just do what I like and am not forced to do anything else. So if there are realy product that I believe in then yes I promote them but that is long term. I watch the bigger channel and the only thing I recently thought was were are your fancy new cameras now.... so I guess we agree on that. I hope you will keep enjoying this channel. I never won a competiton, but this is okay. I´m an amteur and are happy if there´s some positive feedback. My goal for 2025 is to establish a web site showing some of my photos. I don´t like instagram and so i decided it´s a website of my own. Greetings from Bernd
A website is deffinitly s good idea. I'm changing all kinds of stuff t the moment. Mine was far to complicated and had way to much maintenance. I'm actually considering one of those squarespace websites. But that is a long term project. That's why I found this competition interesting. There was a jury of professionals that judged it and gave me feedback. Hearing they're words is far more interesting then winning with public votes that I "bought" trough social media.
