    I updated a couple of weeks ago to 12-100 F4 lens. Just waiting on the rebate & then update to Om1 mark 2 from my EM1 mark 1 almost 10 years old & still giving great service. Just want to cut back on Filters & stuff for my next travel. My EM1 will still be used as my backup for many years to come😊

      You will see a massive step up with the OM-1 mkii. 12-100 is also a fantastic choice. Enjoy.

    I use micro 4/3 since pen E-p1 and i could't be more happier. Specially because the system grow so much in terms of lens and tecnology that became truely a joy to use. I am buying this one.

    I have had an OM-1 for 2 years and although it is a very good camera due to its light weight and the fact that it has lots of very good built-in tech which help for a variety of styles of photography I.e. wildlife (fps, pro-capture mode, bird and animal eye and tracking), landscape (hi-res, stacking, HDR, multiple exposure), star/night (stray sky AF setting), portrait (face & eye and subject detection), there is still the big, big issue regarding low light noise and high ISO as a result of the OM-1 being a Micro four thirds camera and for me it is combined with the fact that I live in the UK where poor light can be a major issue. Having a Sony full frame camera I don’t tend to find Low light noise offering a similar issue.
    Listening to what is being said regarding the OM-1 mkii it doesn’t appear to be such an exciting collection of upgrades that would justify upgrading my OM-1 and yet I was hoping to see some innovative , groundbreaking or radical upgrades. Quite a few of them appear to be merely firmware upgrades. Sadly, this means that I will not be rushing out to either replace or add the OM-1 mkii into my camera bag.
    However, if a person is starting from scratch with the OM system then I’m sure the OM-1 mkii would be a good purchase alongside the Pro lenses which help in some way with regard to the issue of low light noise and increased sharpness and focus.
    I’m sorry but I am not as excited and I cannot understand why there is all of the excitement and buzz regarding the OM-1 mkii coming out on RUclips from the influencers, camera shops and ambassadors for OM systems regarding their new ‘flagship’ camera and their rather ‘subtle’ upgrades.
    I think there are missed opportunities with their latest version of the OM-1 system for owners of the previous version of the OM-1 and I wonder what will happen regarding future firmware upgrades for the Olympus OM-1. Are we going to be left in the wastelands of the older models graveyard?

      Doesn't sound like an upgrade for Om1 users but it seems like a perfected OM1 and it is good for system if the AF tracking reached Sony level. But obviously do wish some software features to be ported to OM1 users. This is a great complete camera with strong 8.5 stops IS, AF performance, deep buffer, improved pro cap, improved Live ND, New Grad ND, new human detection, new subject selection, improved HDR, improved stacking, improved blackout free shooting in various fps, improved dials. But OM system also should have improved video features like 4k 120, higher bit rates, video assist features, external SSD support and flash shooting features to near G9 II levels to warrant a price hike. The low noise issues is easily solved with new AI noise reduction software without affecting details. So that does not seem like a big problem these days. Else OM1 II is a great camera at its own, but at 2000 USD price

      The ISO performance on mft is in most cases actually better than on full frame, because, if your are doing a true comparison, one has to apply the chiropractor not only to the focal length but also to the f-stop. Which means f5.6 becomes f11 on a FF, and means, you need to raise your ISO by two stops if you want to maintain the same shutter speed😊

    What a cool camera this looks - just preordered mine today. What amazes me is how much the existing m4/3 community hate on OM Systems… I really can’t understand why … “it’s too expensive” “not enough has changed” “I’ll keep my camera from 10 years ago” … lady at the camera store said there was huge demand and it would be popular… go figure :-)

    The new OM telezoom is a full frame Sigma lens with the OM logo, which is why it's so big and heavy, isn't that right?

    • @palmerino1965
      @palmerino1965 2 месяца назад

      Molto probabile.
      Comunque è stato riprogettato per limitare il cerchio di copertura con apposita chiusura interna(eliminare abbagliamenti al sensore) ed inserire una operatività dedicata al sensore micro.
      Immagino.
      Questo per molti è una possibilità felice, per altri meno.
      Rimane comunque uno zoom che regala ampi ingrandimenti e visto che a me non servono... vaglio altre ottiche.

    It is wonderful to see and hear how excited you and a few others are about this updated yet NEW camera. You hit many positive features that actually improve the OM-1 and make this Mark II an even better camera, especially for wildlife. Terrific upgrades on an even terrific camera. I do not get the people that are bashing this new version of a terrific camera. Thank you for your reviww! 👋 😎 👍 🤩 👌

    1 piece of clarification: you were praising the size of the 150-600, but many m43rds users are upset with it's girth. But I'm reality, that lens you were folding was a 300-1200mm because of the 2x crop factor - THEN that size really is remarkable. For birders to have access to a 1200mm f6.3 lens in that size, at that price , it's a pretty big deal.

    "It's a joy to use"
    If there's one thing I've learned over the last day or two, it's that camera users don't care about the joy of photography, they only care about buying bigger sensors to one-up buyers of other camera brands.

    This reminds me of the Nikon Zii providing not much more than some firmware upgrades. I feel this is the best featured camera on the market so l am not a hater but l question bringing out a mark ii after 2 years with not much more than software upgrades and the 150/600 lens weighs more than my full frame 200/800 and weight is one of the main drawcards for micro four thirds. I am sure l will end up in the system down the track but this release has put me on hold for the moment as it shows a lack of innovation.

    Due to the smaller sensor, that 150-600 lens acts like a full frame 300-1200 which would be much larger in a full frame equivalent setup. Paired with the OM-1’s impressive autofocus, image stabilization and speed, this seems like an ideal combination for bird photographers.

Now i want to believe that i have a full frame 200-2000 lens just like you want to believe that you have a 300-1200, but hey guess what..........you don`t have a full frame lens, Just a crappy small sensor with an 150-600.

      Comunque per molti, meglio avere questa opportunità che non averla.
      Quindi rimane indifferente cosa io ne pensi...

      I have both systems and love both systems. Chap saying it’s garbage is just being a mutt for the sake of it. Z9 is great but it is bit of a cumbersome brick which doesn’t suit everyone. Mr Limp running around trying to put people off is clearly yearning for the day when there is only one choice, his choice and paying five times the price for a monopoly product.

    • @palmerino1965
      @palmerino1965 2 месяца назад

      Trovo il miglior compromesso.
      Avere ampie profondità di campo aiuta nel paesaggio senza dover arrivare alla diffrazione come nei sensori ben più ampi.
      Con ottiche super luminose f:1,2 (volendo) si ottengono sfuocati ottimi.
      Alla fine, operativamente si può scattare con 2 diaframmi più aperti od anche 3 rispetto alla Fuji GFX e questo limita il salire di sensibilità.
      E non ci spezza la schiena per portare lo stesso corredo ottico.

    • @palmerino1965
      @palmerino1965 2 месяца назад

      Personalmente acquisterei una OM, perché nei pasesaggi, a volte avere la possibiltà di scattare ad f:11 senza grandi problemi derivanti dalla diffrazione, diventa invece una difficoltà importando f:22 su una full-frame, soprattutto se dotata di molti megapixel.
      Per il resto, l'acquisto diventa personale.
      Nella strada, avere un sistema da cui poter scegliere ottiche davvero piccole e leggere (esempio Lumix 14mm, 20mm e Zuiko 45mm) permette di essere davvero discreti, magari usando una mirrorlesse anche datata compatta come la serie Pen o GX...

  • @formermpc10
    @formermpc10 7 месяцев назад +1

    Calling the OM-1 a great camera is not correct.
    The OM-1 was released prematurely which is why it's had numerous updates and still has problems. Mine has gone back once for problems and still isn't as reliable as my trusty EM1.2.
    I don't trust OMDS. Hard pass

      There are exactly 35 other mirrorless camera bodies available from B&H right now for more money. There are also 54 bodies less expensive. So this camera (the flagship of the line) is not even in the top 10% when discussing price. When you come out with a better camera for less money, I’m sure people will line up to get it.

    • @GrenlandUnderVann
      @GrenlandUnderVann 7 месяцев назад

      @@ssugarba Nobody is lining up for OM cameras. Generally most are sold with winter cashback, spring cashback, summer cashback. The never ending OM cashback scheme. Hardly any OM-1 has been sold for MSRP in the last two years. Would it hurt OM to set a realistic MSRP instead of running endless cashbacks?

    • @ssugarba
      @ssugarba 7 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t disagree that OM system sales are down… but regrettably I don’t think lowering the price of a product will overcome the fact that so many users have invested in Nikon, Canon and Sony systems. The point is that for those of us that are integrated into the Olympus/OM… m43 photographers in general… the MSRP for the new camera should not be offensive, as it is competitive for similarly capable bodies in other brands. I’m also not suggesting that it is a necessary upgrade from the OM1 mk I - but if you’re shooting an EM 1 mk II, this would be a substantial upgrade and the price is not excessive .

    OM system should come up with a new 28 Megapixel Sensor to be able to add more features. Perhaps, launching a new OM-2 Digital Camera will be the best for OM System.
