Love the passion. For any young musicians out there, take note. Nothing he is doing is technically difficult, you could get to this level of proficiency in a few years. But he is completely absorbed in the music, totally transported and elevated into another dimension, and that depth of spirit comes through even with such a simple composition as this. If you can feel your music under your skin, in your bones and deep within your soul with consistency and devotion until you completely merge with it you will be able to move an audience and you can be a professional musician. Soooo many musicians, probably 99.9% focus on mastery and technique while forgetting to develop their musical soul. You can go your whole life as a musician in this way and never learn to express your truest self. People are impressed but secretly bored by such performances. The book to read is Effortless Mastery by Kenny Warner. Music is supposed to be a spiritual experience. Never forget that.

Tremendous video. It's exhilarating to watch someone so encompassed by what they needed to get out that they're able to power through the nerves and adrenaline to deliver a memorable performance
I love how the host begins to talk casually just after the performance finishes as if something extraordinary, outworldly and utterly breathtaking did not take place one fraction of a second before
If you listen closely he is trying really hard to stay composed. That deep breath he took and fluctuations in his voice especially near the end. Having Nils Frahm next to you in the studio doing a live performance Says a lot. He remained professional though, only just.
Seeing this video 2-3 years ago took me all the way to watching him live in Edinburgh last night. His music sucks you in, mesmerises you and immerses you in a deep pool of creative emotion! Such a talent. So beautiful.
Funny, i was in Edinburgh too. Nils was great, but the audience was very annoying. In every single break between the songs, people where going out for a piss or getting more beer. It ruined my concert in this fantastic venue "Ulster Hall"
RUclips was just shuffling on my home speaker and this track came along I literally stopped my work when to my PC to see who the heck is this guy playing this golden music. Well done Nils first time I heard of you but I'm sure glad I did.
I love how simple this is musically...basically just an apreggiated root, fifth, and minor third, but then he just builds vamps over the top and makes it his own creation that clearly captures something special.
There is always this moment where you just realize that there is something, a tiny bit at times, which makes a piece of music stand out. This tiny bit can mean the whole world.
Seeing his fingers tremble and his face contort adds so much depth to the experience of this; there’s nothing quite like watching someone put every ounce of energy they can into plumbing the depths of their soul and exposing it to the world. 7:40 had me in tears. Incredible
This is nothing short of fucking amazing. I honestly don't know of a more emotive piece of music that I've come across. It destroys me each and every time I listen to it.
This recording and video is so good. I I find myself returning to listen to it time and time again. KEXP have good quality content through and through. The hosts does a fenomenal job when presenting the music and when there are interview segments the questions show that they know their stuff and have a genuine interest in the artist they are presenting/interviewing.
Man I dig this guy so much, dig his style, dig his music, dig his fucking attitude. A friend showed me this masterpiece some times ago. Really listening to it gives the absolute chillest mood. It really sinks in my mind, drives my brain. You're beyond godlike.
This has been living in my head rent free for a while now. It’s taken this long to even attempt to convey what it makes me feel like since it’s almost like nothing else. The images this keeps bringing up for me though is a test pilot about to push the limits of his prototype. 0:07 to 3:37 - Pilot is getting briefed, checking the plane over, reviewing footage "yeah, I saw what happened there", checking fitness.. "OK. deep breath".. 3:38 to 5:27 - Getting into the plane, doing start up checks, "thats a lot of warning lights and sounds". "OK we're good, just a little bug it seems". getting things up to temperature, lining up on the runway and then giving it the beans to take off.. 5:28 to 7:38 - ..and up we go. Climbing hard, getting ready to push that top speed. Going up, there’s shudders and noises but nothing that hasn’t been there before. "Man, it's so amazing up here. Never gets old".. "Ok, that noise was new. Probably something to check out, so do we turn back?" 7:39 to 8:56 "No way. We're here now. Pedal to the metal, it’s make or break". The speed just keeps climbing, and climbing. Passing the previous best. Things are getting weird, noises not heard before.. "Just keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Can't go back. Keep going." Speed has all about stopped rising at this moment, just ticking up now and again.. "Keep going. Gotta push it. Keep going. Keep going. COME ON YOU BASTARD GIVE ME SOMETHING MORE! Keep going… Gotta.. Keep… Goi.." 8:57 ….. too far.
