Hello. I am a Japanese writer. However, I cannot live by the work of a writer alone. That's why I've been working part-time as a cleaner for many years. I've cleaned a lot of different toilets so far. Sometimes I have to clean the dirty toilets quickly by myself in a limited amount of time. In the future, your "toilet brushes" will support my heart in such a situation. Thank you.👍
I saw him around the same time in Dallas TX of all places. It was my favorite concert ever despite the fact that I've been to 100's of different shows.
I've heard people wonder why these days we don't have anyone like Bach, Beethoven and composers like that. Here you go. Nils Frahm is exactly that and will be remembered as such.
No. No he won’t. Nils music is great, but let’s not get carried away. Don’t get me wrong, I guarantee you I’m enjoying this at least as much as you are. I’ve been a fan of Nils for a while now and I’m on about playback #11 in a row on this video, but I’m afraid Mr. Frahm’s music only rises to the level of excellent current film score music. Very much in the vein of say Hans Zimmer, who I love also. I think HZ has a much greater time resistant body of work than NF, but in 100 years next no one will know who Hans Zimmer is, much less Nils. The works and accomplishments of time tested masters such as Bach, Beethoven and Mozart are truly beyond belief and will live on for more hundreds of years.
@@bretthutcheson5710 Next to nobody will remember e.g. Edward Witten when people will still celebrate Einstein as though he was the be-all-end-all of physics which he very clearly wasn't. Who is remembered has less to do with actual merit than with tradition.
As the biggest NF fan, this is completely insane to think. Bach is still hailed by composers today, 273 years after his death, and his body of work is absolutely inhuman in scale as well as diversity and complexity. None of this can be said for Nils.
I was at this concert! At the beginning, we didn't know he was even in the room. It was a surprise when he started playing the organ upstairs. He played on it for a few minutes, then made the last note sustain, ran downstairs to where he is in the video and carried on playing from the same note. Seeing this guy live is like being on a date. I only realise how great his performance and little touches are when I see these videos, though. SEE HIM LIVE.
Jack McCarthy That is absolutely true. I heard him first on the radio, got his name, checked him on RUclips and immediately decided to see him live. Well, it's been 2 live performences already and as you say, it's like being on a date. I literally stopped breathing at the end of More, trying to remember every overwhelming second of it. Yes, SEE HIM LIVE!
I saw him live in montreal 4 years ago... It is still, to this day, my greatest musical experience at a live show and I've seen a lot of artist live (Radiohead, sigur ros, Muse, Coldplay, Beach House, Tame Impala, Olafur Arnalds DeafHeaven, Converge)... The full version of this song (for-peter-toilet brush-more) got me in tears of pure bliss. I've never felt this overwhelmed by pure joy during a live show. I remember just crying and crying, lost in a cloud of pure euphoria.
Nils is the inverted form of classic artism. First he destroys something, then he makes it beautiful and then he destroys it again just to bring it to final beauty. Besides Thom Yorke the most gifted artist alive!
This is my favourite version of this song/songs. They're all great, but this one's somehow more raw, almost punk rock and angry at the end. One of the best things on the entire RUclips platform.
I saw Nils in concert, just this last week. Between Says and this, it has to be one of the most powerful encores i ever experienced. The only word I can used to describe what I experienced is that it was transcendental. Someone here described him as shamanistic, and I think that is a great description. But beyond this, he's a real humble guy. All that talent, and he's just happy and thankful we came to hear him play. What a legend.

Stunning! Rare to see a live video performance where the filming captures the atmosphere of the performance and is treated as a work of art in it's own right. If this was on DVD I would buy it.
From 12:00 to the end, it feels like you can hear so many different melodies gathered into one masterpiece, full of emotion and of sincerity! To me, this piece is a beautiful gift.
I think it's the echo effect he uses, the echoed notes play along the new notes he's playing to form totally different melodies every time, it's beautiful.

As a musician you hear lots of different styles of music, so many beats, riffs and patterns going through your head every day, there are only a small hand full of songs especially in a world dominated by monotonous pop songs that give you that feeling of the hair standing on end when that certain chorus kicks in or when the melody suddenly gets deeper, this is most definitely one of those songs.
Love it so much.. all coming from the heart.. worthy of a sainthood for what he gives to us all..god bless him. Sorry but it reminds me of Jesus riding a donkey into the worst conflict on earth.. knowing he’d be crucified.. but still believing and hoping.. this music carries all my hopes along with it xxxx
I know right. This live version is just infinitely better than the version on the Spaces album, which is already amazing. I feel like he's putting way more emotion through that performance. I simply cannot stop listening to it. I've got it on loop while I work.
I was fortunate enough to see him play this live at the Sydney Opera House in 2019; it was the final show of his long tour. To say it was mesmerising is an understatement. Just, wow.
I've never encountered a song that could make me feel so blue and sentimental but beautiful. Memories of unfulfilled, sad love come to mind like a running lantern. It's hard to find such a wonderful music, such an emotional song like this. I am so glad you made this song.
Mesmerising and enthralling with a lush tingling feeling flowing through the hair follicle with every gush of one's breadth. Truly an artist of our times.
I remember I got to see him perform this piece at Prague, in 2015 or 16, and after the performance was over there was an autograph signing session, and I didnt have anything to have his signature on, luckily my plastic phone back cover was white. Wish I did a better job preserving it, but at least for a few years i was carrying a part of this genius all around with me. Thanks Nils
it's digital delay and loop sequences, not taking nothing away from this guy like, just though would let you know this is how he gets it to sound like 3 pianos, love this guys talent. ;0)
The delay effect basically makes one note repeat or echo itself at a softer volume a few times after it was played on the keyboard. An effect pedal or effects processor can achieve this and can be adjusted to fit different timing in a song. So, each note he is playing is being repeated at intervals that coincide with what is being played a few measures ahead. May not be the best explanation, but having used the effect on a lot of things, that's my best explanation. This song is almost more percussion than anything, considering how much the timing plays a role.
Danke Nils Frahm ♥️
Every time I hear that last swell just lift up on wings and fly, then calmly touch back to the ground, I feel really happy for Nils; he worked so hard for it and he's up there exhausted and the entire crowd is standing up and going crazy over it...
This is awesome. A friend of mine gave me the tip to hear Nils Frahm. And all these old Queen lovers like me will have noticed the good old Brighton Rock theme of Brian May in a free interpretation from 7:23 on. Brian May was, I think, one of the first who used these echo technics. Of course absolutely suitable for a concert in London.

Quite the amazing performance - some people have such inspirational talent.
I love this song, but I keep coming back to this performance. It's like watching a storm roll in.
Just, wow.
This piece has gotten me through half of law school. I think roughly 1,000 of those views are mine.
Half of medical school here
This song and album got me through writing my first screenplay. :)
Oh and good choice on law school. I loved law, but I never really pictured myself making a career of it.
aw man! First year law student here. Inspired by your comment.
This song gets me through anxiety
This man is absolutly crazy. Love it.
This is fresh air for music.
This is one of my favourite pieces of music for years. And I listen to a lot of things. Nils' devotion is awe-inspiring for me as a musician.
Greatest video of all times anyone?
I felt like I had stared into his soul for 15 minutes, but realized I had been staring into my own! Love him, trust him. He is a painkiller.
So fucking brilliant. Humanity at its best.
I've never encountered a song that could make me feel so blue and sentimental but beautiful. Memories of unfulfilled, sad love come to mind like a running lantern. It's hard to find such a wonderful music, such an emotional song like this. I am so glad you made this song.
I’ve never seen anyone use their whole body to play the piano. Amazing!
Mesmerising and enthralling with a lush tingling feeling flowing through the hair follicle with every gush of one's breadth. Truly an artist of our times.
Amazing
agree! Please take look at my works, if you like such a music :)
Thanks Nils
I stumbled upon this just now and can’t believe what I’m hearing. How have I got this far without experiencing this magic?
Nils on piano = 3 pianists on piano !!!!!!!!!!
it's digital delay and loop sequences, not taking nothing away from this guy like, just though would let you know this is how he gets it to sound like 3 pianos, love this guys talent. ;0)
+Tommy Lloyd can you explain in more detail?
The delay effect basically makes one note repeat or echo itself at a softer volume a few times after it was played on the keyboard. An effect pedal or effects processor can achieve this and can be adjusted to fit different timing in a song. So, each note he is playing is being repeated at intervals that coincide with what is being played a few measures ahead. May not be the best explanation, but having used the effect on a lot of things, that's my best explanation. This song is almost more percussion than anything, considering how much the timing plays a role.
Well, Analog piano is percussive(stringed percussive to be precise)
Danke Nils Frahm ♥️
Wahre Worte!
No doubt : This man is one of the greatest geniuses alive today. ;-)
That was possibly the greatest musical feat i have ever witnessed. I am in shock.
First comment I've made on RUclips, beautifully brilliant. Wave after wave.......
Every time I hear that last swell just lift up on wings and fly, then calmly touch back to the ground, I feel really happy for Nils; he worked so hard for it and he's up there exhausted and the entire crowd is standing up and going crazy over it...
Incredible, a pleasure to watch someone put so much passion into the music they play.
I love it too, he is incredibly creative! Please take look at my works, if you like such a music :) best regards
this is the single best live performance I've ever seen in my life
Thank you for saying something that wasn't yeas ago!
This is the best performance of More I've ever seen.. Absolutely masterpiece.. Can watch it over and over again..
I was privileged to witness this perfect performance and it will stay long in my memory.
the raw emotion and energy here just gets me crying every time, its so overwhelming
Ask Nils to play a song at your party and he'll reply, "I'm going to need a spork, a can of hairspray and a mango...".
He's the MacGyver of the music world.
The Mac Gyver of the music world....hell yeah!!!!
And some toilet brushes. Definitely toilet brushes! New ones ideally.
na man, he needs *wet* sounds (google it).
He can't just use new ones q:
jk
but I am a sound producer lmao
"I've made songs with less"
never saw someone who is so devoted to what he does. great nils.
