Many thanks for the comments, guys! To a bigger part, it's a really great and positive comment section - which is not the usual thing to be on RUclips. Just positive and healing vibes - which are surely animated by Niels' music and performance. I sometimes come back here and it's always a pleasure reading how you appreciate a great concert and some really good music from one of the greatest musical geniuses of our generation. And then I end up listening through the whole concert. Again. And sometimes on repeat for hours.
Oh Wow. Words aren't enough. The originality, the structure, the harmony, the emotion. Absolutely wonderful. Eargasm. I used to be a chillout DJ. If only I'd known about him then...
Since the beginning of the pandemic the concerts have gone. Only now have I managed to start recording and posting on the channel. Nils Frahm is one of the inspirations for this to happen. I hope everyone is well and at home.
You know what is great to imagine, that somebody share his life and this person is the lucky one in the world, because he or she is amazed everyday to live with genious Nils Frahm !
@@Protochinese He is probably incapable of washing dishes or doing other mundane things. When you give him a toilet brush to clean the toilet after himself, he is probably all like: "Nah, but you actually gave me an idea how I might try to play the piano!"
This is one of the concerts I wish I had seen live. This is so amazing! Creds to WDR (or whoever produced it) for actually recording it from so many angles and with such great sound!!
Thank you for your gratitude, but to be honest, I don't feel like I deserve to be thanked for this. Nils Frahm deserves it for sure, but if you want to thank other people who brought that to you, you should say thanks to the makers of the "Haldern Pop Festival" 2015 and the people who make the "Rockpalast" TV show at the German TV channel "WDR".

Nils Frahm is great. Fantastic concert. However the director of the show irritated constantly with, what I suppose was his artistic visual mix of going into the lights, which added nothing.
Dear people, please could you recommend to me similar composers like Nils... if any? he sounds so unique to me... I could listen to his music ... forever...
You could check out Nils Frahm's Piano Day -playlists on Soundcloud. They can be used as recommendations for contemporary piano musicians. There may be entries in this plailist you might like. It's a good thing that Nils Frahm's music is not a genre. And not all of Frahm's music is like this.
Anyone know if "DRM II" features on a record anywhere? Under a different title perhaps? Google ain't spitting out much but I need that track in my life.
In a tweet some time after this concert Nils said that "DRM II" was the working title for this track. So if that track ever got a release, it is possible that it was released under a different title. Maybe some huge fan who knows Nils' complete body of released work, could help you out here. Or Nils himself, if you ask him on Twitter or Soundcloud or on whatever platform he is active.
@@music-guy Thanks for the response man, I appreciate you taking the time. It may be worth writing to him as you say, I think it's a genuinely fantastic piece of music and I'd love to be able to play it aside from on this video.
You're free to dislike this music, but making the reference to "The Emperor's New Clothes" is just retarded. People love this music with their heart, they're not just pretending to love it so that others might think that they are cool or smart and educated.
What?! Dumbest comment ever. Doesn’t even make sense. Even if you don’t care for the music (which, if so, what are you even doing here !?), a reasonable person would still appreciate this incredible talent. This is fantastic.
You're right. You're simply not getting it. This is to say he very least, a fucking FANTASTIC live performance by one guy, recreating the music he compiled himself, down to the T.
